BEWARE of Reliant Roofing
We find the conduct of Reliant unprofessional and reprehensible and DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM.
This company engages in egregious billing and tried to bully us with false charges. We entered into contract with Reliant Roofing company to reroof our house. It was a very expensive contract that came to over $230,000 for the agreed amounts due. (see attached image)
However, after job was complete extensive damages to our driveway, rain gutters and property costing over $35,000 to repair became evident. They claim to have taken precautions not to damage our property, and sent a single cherry picked photo to support this. Fortunately for us we have multiple security cameras with videos of what actually went on and the damage they caused. Reliant also includes charges of over $4,000 for work not done.
Reliant did not dispute that the damages occurred during the roof repair because of their heavy equipment and roofing work, but refused to take responsibility. Instead, during our email exchanges Reliant began adding new and false charges of over $40,000 to their total amount due in response. Seems to us they added these false fees in a poor attempt to cover the similar costs of the damages they caused. Reliant also continues to insist on charging for the work not performed.
They threatened us with legal action and collections from an out of town law firm if we didn't pay. We had to hire an attorney and it's a legal case now.
In total, Reliant' falsely ran up the invoices to over $270,000. (see attached image) Only after a letter from our attorney did they dial back this amount. They continue to deny responsibility for the damages they caused. What a mess, would never use a company that handles itself in this way.

Called them to come out for an estimate. They came out and did all of the measurements and discussed what all would be done. Then they said they would get back with me with a price. It has been over two months and have not heard back from them. Try to contact them and the Caleb Stafford doesn't answer my phone and the office just says they will have him call me back and i never hear anything from them. If you didn't want to do the job, just say you don't want it. Don't be a dick.

Reliant replaced my roof in March, 2017. By October, I had a leak on garage area and contacted them. They quickly sent a repair crew to fix the issue. Fast forward 5 years later, I recently found a leak from the same area. This time, Reliant still responded in a timely fashion and sent the crew in the same week. I commend the crew, Edgar and Joel, worked diligently to identify the issue. I think the first crew in October, 17 just found one spot and repaired that spot and did not search further for underlying issue.
I gave 4 stars for their quick response but failed 5 stars for doing subpar job at first. I had the same roof for first 20 years without a leak and after replaced the new roof by Reliant and it leaked in first 6 months and 5 years after (twice already).

I researched roofing companies serving the Jacksonville area before deciding to hire Reliant Roofing. Based on research, we felt Reliant was the best in the area. Consequently, we had great expectations.
Our contract was for a complete roof replacement. It included prepaid costs for sheets of plywood and lumber, two inspections (midpoint and final), and a warranty.
The installation started on 1/3/2023 and finished on 1/4/2023. On 1/5/2023, the roof had a major leak that caused the ceiling inside the home to collapse. Reliant took 37 days to complete the repairs and referred to them as ""warranty repairs."" Two business days later, Reliant sent a reminder that the ""final invoice"" was due.
The invoice showed charges for plywood and lumber but did not show a credit for the plywood and lumber included in the contract. Finance said the credit had ""already been factored in;"" however, pictures taken during the installation did not support that. Reliant charged for more sheets of plywood than were shown in the pictures and charged for individual sheets of plywood multiple times. For example, one sheet that was split into three strips was billed as three sheets (at $110/sheet), and another that was split in half was charged as two sheets (at $110/sheet).
Reliant didn't acknowledge the overcharge or adjust the billing until after we raised the issue several times, and they only adjusted the overcharge for the plywood. The credit for prepaid lumber didn't occur until later after being elevated to Reliant's Vice President.
Pictures also showed damaged wood that had not been replaced, a 2x6 ""brace"" attached to (instead of replacing) a 2x6 fascia board at the front of the house, and inattention to details on visible parts of the eaves (e.g., the corners). See photos.
With respect to inspections, Reliant did not request the midpoint inspection that was included in the contract. Consequently, the City of Jacksonville did not conduct that inspection.
We continued to escalate our experience and concerns regarding the leak and ceiling damage, the overcharges, and the inspections. Eventually, Reliant's Vice President contacted me. Aside from the credit for the prepaid lumber, no other adjustment was made - except that Reliant added the ""warranty repair"" to the invoice as ""no charge."" We paid the final invoice immediately and, reluctantly, drafted this review. We sent the draft to Reliant's Vice-President and President to provide them the courtesy of reading and commenting on it before posting, as we wanted it to be fair and accurate.
Later that day, the President contacted me. Ultimately, he said he would use our experience as a ""teaching opportunity"" for all of Reliant's service areas (sales, accounting, production, project managers, and repair division) but did not think it worthwhile to pursue a resolution in our interest. Instead, he said we benefited from the warranty repair (which would not have been necessary if the installation had been done correctly in the first place). With respect to our review, he asked that we at least say we ended up with a good, quality roof. Time will tell. However, our experience was not a good one and not one we would wish on another homeowner.
Had I read a review such as this before hiring Reliant, we might have given more consideration to Reliant's competitors.

PLEASE look elsewhere!!! I was so pleased with Reliant when John Waugh sold me my roof in 2019. In July of 2022, I found water damage to the wall in my home (see first 3 pictures attached). Reliant came out to do a roof inspection, and found that area around my chimney had not been sealed well. I was still a happy customer, as they had completed the inspection and were going to come out and complete the repairs.
They sent out Norman, a subcontractor who tried to complete the work in one evening. Please see all of the remaining pictures for his so-called repair. Reliant deemed this a successful repair. Are you kidding me???
I have been fighting with this organization since August of 2022. They insist on only repairing the one panel, but the house was built in the 60s and this paneling is nowhere to be found according to their first subcontractor, Norman, and their second, Mario. Both stated, ON THEIR OWN, without any suggestion from me, that if the paneling could not be matched, the whole room's paneling would need to be replaced, so that it would all match, but Reliant has told them no, and that they need to build the paneling out themselves. Refer to the pictures of the repair to see how that turned out.
Please keep in mind that through all of this Reliant has refused to return phone calls or emails. For every 5-10 voicemails or emails that my fiance or I leave we MAY get a response from reliant.
This review is aimed at protecting anyone who is considering this company for their home repairs, replacements or projects. I beg you to keep shopping!! I once thought very highly of them, and would still if they had handled this repair with integrity and class, but they have not.

Critical: Professionalism
Work estimate Jan/2022 - I had many people tell me to do my research prior to having my roof re-done because I could be left with a pretty big bill at the end -so I continued to research and found Reliant was the one company that took initiative to work with my insurance directly (CLAIM -damage to roof which insurance would pay for). I did everything I could to be confident I wouldn't be subject to crazy charges after the work was done. I emailed back and forth with Reliant Roofing continually until I felt confident that I knew every step and had everything in writing. June 22 accepted Reliant to replace my roof. Work Order = smooth / Ins paid $23,000 / Roof work was smooth / work was done well. I started getting the daily phone calls and emails to pay ($1,000 Deductible and there was overage of $2,000) = prior to the work being done. I had customer issues with the job the sunroof had cement all over the center and I knew I couldn't get up there to fix it so I asked they have that fixed. Also inside repairs never were completed - I had someone living in this area and it had already been 3 weeks then the repair guy just doesn't come back (I called in another source and paid them) Still being called and emailed by Reliant to pay the bill. I kept emailing back the problem with work not being completed - 3/4 emails finally got Reliant to respond and that was by them having the inside/contractor to email me and try to schedule the inside work. Work was done all parties knew this. I emailed for a line by line credit for the uncompleted work to be taken off my bill. I paid more for the inside contractor I hired then they credited my bill. Reliant sent updated corrected invoicing then kept at the aggressive approach at collecting the remaining $2,800. I told them I had their Reliant Insurance Adjuster promise me in writing to invoice the home owners insurance for the overage - I wasn't disputing billing - I wasn't avoiding paying the balance (the check was filled out and sitting at my house) I wanted the CC from the billing to the insurance as promised. They said they cannot provide that due to that person being on leave from work and that I just needed to pay this amount. Gab called and text multiple times same day demanding payment - assuring me that the insurance will be billed the difference. Very prematurely in his text he threatened to lien my house - I was shocked. I called him immediately we then talked on the phone and I expressed my anger at an inappropriate and premature threat to lien my home. I told him just go by my house today and pick up the check and now being Sept 22 - never have they provided me with what was promised a CC letter or invoicing to my insurance and that's because I'm told by my insurance they never filed the overage explanation to my insurance so I had a chance to be reimbursed. With the amount of money they had already been paid by my insurance this was to petty a situation for them to end our business so negatively with threats and not doing simply what I was promised.

Did not show for estimate! Called to setup meeting for estimate then did not show up.

I had the best experience ever with this company! First of all the Sales guy Michael Clark, just was awesome and very easy to work with - he worked with my Insurance carrier direct which saved a lot of stress. When that all got worked out the guys came out and got it done! Michael/Foreman was great too - very personable! I would highly recommend this company! Made it so easy! Thanks you guys!

Michael Clark was a joy to work with. He helped me get approved for my new roof and everything. A flawless experience and I love how it turned out. Thank you!!

My roof isn't even on yet and I can tell you Reliant Roofing has been impressive from the moment I contacted them. Michael Clark (904-307-8456) has diligently worked with me and provided absolutely excellent customer service. He explained everything from A-Z, answered my questions, and made sure Reliant was working closely with my homeowner's insurance company so every detail was taken care of. I have been extremely impressed with his level of communication and keeping me in the loop at every step, even anticipating my needs and questions. I thoroughly researched many roofing companies before I chose Reliant; reading reviews, and speaking with a number of customers. Reliant came out on top every time and now I see why. Once the roof is completed, I'll do another review! Call Michael and let him get you started on your new roof. This young man impressed me enough that I wrote a review - something I rarely do!
