I would be extremely careful about doing business with this company. They promise a lot and deliver little. We have had a terrible experience so far. The normal roofing job is now two weeks and still not complete. It was supposed to be completed in 4-5 days maximum. The project manager has been lying blatantly each step of the way regarding the work schedule, inspection, type of work, etc.. it honestly should be called UNRELIABLE roofing since everything about this job has been unreliable so far. My repeated calls to project manager and the company office escalating the issue to their management have not been responded. The demolition of my old roof was done the first day of the job in a few hours, a big mess was left and nobody showed up the next four days!!! This was incredible because we had to make several arrangements for our house sitter, pet sitter, even coordinate with neighbors since we were leaving town. This was all done in a hurry to accommodate the company for leveraging their resources who were working on a nearby job and the company could save cost by sharing the same resources and reducing dumping fees. While they have realized all the benefits of reduced dumping fees and resource cost, our job has taken a back seat and still is not finished after two weeks.

I would never trust a company such as this where the ethics are nonexistent and trust is breached.

Due to the great reviews I called to get an estimate for a leak in my roof.
Great phone service. An appointment was set for today between 1-2 pm. With a phone call 24 hours prior to confirm appointment and go over details. Well, no phone call to confirm. Today...no contractor..no calls..nothing. If the appointment needed to be postponed and they had called to do so, I could have worked with that. But don't tell me I will be called on a certain date and time to confirm , that the appointment for the estimate is set, then completely blow me off. I shouldn't have cancelled plans I had, just to wait for them to no show. IMHO, if you can't manage your appointments with potential customers, you can't manage your contractors, you got problems at a base level. I can't recommend this company to anyone. Hopefully they'll get their stuff together, there are many in the same business that already do.

Good price and honest people. Once they do the work it is great.

Contacting them is another story. It is a family business so they do not have staff to just answer the phone. That is the only problem. But just keep calling.

I can't say enough good things about Marcus and Reliable Roofing. Marcus and his team came out to replace our roof - we previously had a tar & gravel and got it shingled by Marcus & co - and in the process, he not only discovered a lot of rotten wood that needed to be replaced, but he basically gave the house a free inspection, top to bottom, as his guys worked on the roof, to help us make sure the inspection report for our just-purchased house was actually accurate. He took photos everywhere - underneath the house, of the rotten wood before replacement/removal, and so on - and got us the photos so we could deal with the fact that the inspection report at time of purchase was negligently inadequate. He took all this upon himself; Marcus was awesome.

Also, the roof replacement job they did was great. Solid work, would definitely recommend. Very responsive, pretty easy to schedule (a few hiccups there, but nothing huge), and as our job ended up growing into a much more complicated re-roofing process, he took the time to get it done, even though he had another job that was scheduled for after our job. High recommendation.

The worst company I have ever dealt with. When my roof was done (flat roof) by what I now call ""Unreliable Roofing"" they drove 9"" nails through my roof. I came home to these long nails sticking out around my chimney. Finally they came to remove them, but obviously did not seal them. Now when it rains I have to put a bucket out.

I have called Marcus numerous times to come and fix this and I left a voicemail saying I would pay for it, even though they made a major mistake. Marcus never returns my phone calls. Simple as that.

I finally found a responsible young man to come and fix it. Please don't use these idiots!

Marcus and his crew replaced the flat portion of my in-law unit and repaired a leaky roof on the main house about nine years ago and I haven't had any issues yet. They showed up when they said they would, the work looked great and they cleaned up after they finished.

Now it is time to replace the roof and I will definitely call Reliable Roofing to bid on the job.

So I wrote a one star review a month ago when I was extremely frustrated with trying to get a roofer - any roofer - to come fix our leaky roof during the heavy rains and was having zero success. Upgrading the review for the following reasons: After contacting our contractor, (who then contacted Marcus directly), he did call us back and said he had been sick for several weeks. Marcus came out and did a roof inspection, took photos so we could see what was happening up there and gave us a very reasonable bid on the repairs needed. We decided to do a bit more extra work through him too and they removed our never-used brick chimney (pro-active earthquake damage prevention) and several no longer in use flue vents, then replaced the rolled roofing areas and fixed wind damaged shingles. Very happy with the work done and Marcus is an ""everyday kind of guy"" that you feel comfortable working with and trusting.

My handy installed a hood vent on the roof incorrectly. I consulted Marcus from reliable roofing about how to overlap the shingle correctly, Marcus came out and fixed it for me free of charge, even though it's my handyman's responsibility to correct it.
