Contacted 3 roofing companies for estimates to replace our roof. Redwood roofing's estimate was about 35% lower and the scope of work they were going to do was better than the other roofers. I did not use them because I decided to install Solar and use a company that did roofing and Solar. If I needed just a roof done I would have used Redwood Roofing.

Redwood Roofing is the epitome of efficiency, responsiveness and fair pricing. I originally contacted Redwood Roofing to do a repair job on a roof over a hallway that extended into the light well between my two story building and the neighbor's house. Ellison Ma, the business owner, responded immediately to my request for an estimate, visited the next day at the agreed upon time, and patiently explained the work that needed to be done. He provided an estimate the following day that was reasonable and consistent but less than the other estimate I had received from another highly rated roofing company in San Francisco (and 75% cheaper than the ""high profile"" roofing company I had originally contacted who would not even provide a warranty on their work!). Once agreed to the work, it was scheduled within three weeks, which was remarkable given the roof repair demands that the current rainy season imposed on Redwood Roofing and other roofing companies. Once the date was set, Redwood Roofing showed up an hour early, much to my pleasant surprise. When the jobbed was done, Ellison Ma took the time to explain the work that had been done. My Property Manager and I asked Redwood Roofing to do a bit more than they had contracted for on an area not part of the light well roof, to which they immediately complied and completed. In short, Redwood Roofing definitely deserves a 5 star rating.

I would highly recommend Ellison and the Redwood Roofing team. We solicited quotes from five roofing companies in San Francisco for a small clay tile roof replacement project. Redwood Roofing was far and away the most responsive and professional of them all. Our quote from Redwood Roofing--though not the lowest of the quotes we received--was the most detailed, and it gave us confidence their team would show equal attention to detail on the job.

Ellison communicated closely with us as the weather forecast changed, and we found a few clear, sunny days for the work to be completed. The team on site was professional, cleaned up thoroughly after themselves, and showed us photos they took throughout the process. It was reassuring to see progress photos from removal of the old roof, weatherproofing and flashing installation, and finally tile installation.

Overall, we couldn't be happier with Redwood Roofing's work. I can tell from the progress photos they did a really good job, and our roof looks great.

Mr.Ma & Redwood Roofing are prompt, competent & clear. They stand by their work & honor the 1 year warranty. They provide exceptional 'good vibe' customer service- responsive & professional. My flat roof leaked during recent big rains; they came the next day, scheduling repair the following day. Their 'diagnosis & treatment plan' were top notch. What a relief!

We had a leak in our family room following the massive storms in the Bay Area. I put out an urgent request on Yelp to 5 roofers and Ellison was the first to respond and the only one who came out the same day and helped us get a tarp up until the roof could be fixed. He quickly turned around a competitive estimate and was on the job within days. He brought 7 people to replace a huge chunk of my roof that desperately needed replacing (a flat top extension of the house) and it was done in a day. They fixed dry rot and also kept the rest of my property neat and clean as they worked. Highly recommend!

I highly recommend Ellison for any roofing related projects. Coming to a new home where the previous roof had issues and could be vulnerable for the upcoming rainy season, Ellison and his team handled my home's re-roofing with fast speed.
He was very accommodating to helping me with the quoting, adjusting the plan when he sees new information on my roof (e.g. with plywood), and addressed extra problems as his team saw (dryrot on the roof).
Ellison is also very responsive in messages and always able to adjust when there's needs.
As a result the reroof was done faster than other quotes, and now with the rainy season, I'm living here without any worry.

Simply awesome!

I hired Redwood Roofing Co. to replace the old roof of my cottage home, and got a competitive estimate for the project. It took them about 2 days to finish. Woah!

Ellison is very responsive and responsible throughout the entire process, from sending an estimate and proposal, signing a contract, overseeing the project phases, and completion. The effective communication plays an important key to our client-contractor relationship!

His team is one of the best because they're reliable, efficient and provides truly quality service.
