Redwood came out promptly, looked at my roof and told me it was a $2500 minimum, saying it would take two people half a day. (Another company later came out and patched it for a fraction of that price - it took one person 20 min).

Redwood Roofing did a roof replacement for my new property. Redwood wasn't the cheapest quote that I had received, but they gave a competitive bid with the requests I had asked for and demonstrated a good track record of quality work at a competitive rate. Ellison's communication was the best amongst all the other companies I was talking with at the time. All work that was done was outlined and thoroughly referenced in the contract.

Our roof was a primarily flat, so we went with a mod bit torch down with 2"" poly iso foam boards for insulation purposes. The crew that worked on our roof was very respectful, polite and fast. The work itself took 3.5 days from start to finish.

I will be using Redwood Roofing again for my other property once that roof is due to be replaced. I highly recommend going with Redwood Roofing if you need roof work. Thank you again Ellison for your professionalism.

I was introduced to Redwood Roofing and Ellison by my trusted realtor who has previous great experience with them. I initially inquired with them over 4 years ago. They went on top of my roof, performed a thorough assesment and provided me a comprehensive and competitive quote. Unfortunatley, I was not able to contract with them at that time due to other circumstances.

Fast forward four years later, I am now in need of a new roof. I pinged Redwood Roofing once more and other companies for their bids. Once again, Redwood Roofing provided the most comprehensive and competitive quote. I signed and within two weeks they were at my door bright and early to start on the tear-off! - Lastly...AND MOST IMPORTANTLY....their communication. When you are putting down money on one of the most expensive things for your house, it is good to have clear and constant communication. Ellison aces this in spades! He is very prompt in his responses...replies with a text and then a phone call. He is communicating everyday to ensure everything is okay and to your satisfaction. When replacing a roof can be such a pain...he put me at ease.

I would highly recommend working with Redwood Roofing for reroofing. We got 5 quotes, of which Redwood Roofing was the only company who went up on our roof to check it out to give us our quote. Communicating with Ellison has been one of the most frustrating experiences of my life, in the many years I've worked with professional contractors. If the roof work had been completed without any issues, or if I hadn't bothered to check it personally, or if my tenants didn't happen to suffer a water leak right after the installation... I would have probably been oblivious and just left a positive review.

However, because we found issues and reported them, he became extremely defensive and started alternating between ""there are no problems"" and ""we'll take care of it"" - but not actually taking any concrete actions to remedy the flaws. Part of the problem might be due to his delegation / subcontracting of work to other people - the work gets shoddy (see pictures of gaps in the metal flashing) but he will keep insisting it is good enough, while frequently miscommunicating the process or getting confused about where the flaws are.

Specific example: we saw a major water leak from the roof during the first rain after the roof replacement - Ellison kept insisting the issue was with our siding, not the roof, even after we identified gaps in the roof and his own staff reported there were no problems with our siding.

It took a month of arguing and withholding payment until the issues were finally fixed to a professional standard. In the future, client communication about problems should probably be routed through some other staff member who is more straightforward and less dodgy/defensive.

Redwood Roofing completed three jobs for us. Two of which were flat roof and one was a heavily pitched house structure. Ellison was the team lead. Very communicative via text. I felt as if I was actually on the job since Ellison sent many images of their progress. The first was a flat roof townhouse, and that was completed in one day, including gutters with no issues whatsoever. The second was a very large six unit flat roof. Two stories, and I must say, for all three jobs Ellison gave us a very fair quote. Thank you! The large apartment took around four days including demo so I put a couple images for you. Out of all the quotes I got, Ellison was willing to work me into the schedule much faster than I thought it was possible. We have two more pieces of property that, we will use Redwood Roofing as the contractor.

Given the craziness of the insurance industry and the raining season upon our areas these days, all roofing companies have been so busy with old and new commitments.
