I used Recon roofing for my house which had 4 active leaks. They did a great job and we're done in about a week which I thought was great since it is a large house.

They really did nice work and cleaned up really well. I would definitely use them again and recommend them.

Recon came highly recommended to us from someone who recently had his roof replaced, so I had high hopes. Because we live in a fourplex, we talked our neighbor into doing their roof too as it would save us both money (as Recon offered a discount if we both did our roofs). We also spoke to Frank about replacing a board beneath one of our windows--he said he couldn't add it to the contract but a couple guys from his crew could do it on the side. From the start, the communication was bad--we didn't know our city permit had been issued until the day Recon called to tell us they were going to start work that same day (which would have been good except our HOA had to approve the work, but couldn't do so without the permit). Our HOA expedited the approval and the next day the crew showed up (without Recon letting me know). Nobody told us we should clear the things off our patio or out of our yard as they would be throwing things off the roof. Nobody told us what time the crew would arrive or leave (most days they arrived around 9:30-10:00 and left early afternoon). One Friday afternoon the crew left a large pile of garbage, shingles, bags, etc. on our grass (sod was replaced this summer) while it rained all weekend---come Monday the grass beneath it was yellow. We were told someone was supposed to come back to do it, but he had a family emergency and left town. They replaced the siding on our dormer, and it was cut improperly so the siding did not reach the roofline--I pointed it out to the foreman and he said he would replace it. Instead of fixing it, they attached a long piece of untreated wood to cover the area (which they later caulked and painted after I called them). Every single day the crew was here I asked about replacing that piece of wood beneath my window and was told it would be done that day or the next day---it was never done. When I called the office to arrange payment (after the roof was completed), I was told there were a couple of guys that were coming to do it this week. I'm not counting on it. I've been lucky enough to deal with contractors that communicate and do what they say, I'm sorry Recon wasn't one of them.
