I have been doing business in San Diego for a while now. I needed some last second roof work done and called my usual guys. But they did not get back to me in a timely manner. After being stood up and cancelled on 4 times by some of the larger companies, Greg was the first roofer to get out to the property. He was professional, timely in his phone response, and gave a reasonable roof quote. Additionally, he got a report back to my clients sooner than expected. Now I have a new roofer that I'll be working with from here on out.

I have been using RDC Roofing for over 20 years and always got the best estimate and best job from Greg' company. Last big roofing job was 2012...Perfect.
As far as I'm concerned, best competitive bid for great jobs.
Not sure why people are complaining although roof leaks are very hard to diagnose and one roof another guy did had leak over kitchen we could not figure out for years.

I wish I could give negative stars for this review.

Our Realtor had used RDC for our roof inspection. We did not get to meet him since we did not need to be there for inspection. After the house closed, he called me and we set up an appointment to meet. He never showed up. I called him and received a call back 2 days later. He did not remember setting up the appointment. Then he wanted to know why we needed to meet because he had already inspected the house. I want to personally meet the contractors that work on my house. We meet and agreed to have the roof repaired. Later I call him to see if he could do some chimney work. He said that he could. When I received the bill, I needed a detailed bill for the chimney work that he completed. He agreed to send it to me. I did not receive it. I emailed him and still did not get a response. The mortar on the chimney that he fixed cracked and I was concerned about that. He told me to call or email him in a month and he would have is team come out and seal a crack on the chimney. I sent him a message and he has not replied at all. Greg does not keep his promises and is not good at follow up. For these reasons we will not use RDC again and have even encouraged our Realtor not to use him anymore for inspections.

My lady and I have had a leak above our window for some time now. We let our landlord know, Cal Prop, from which they were to get back to us. We received a letter that a maintenance man would be by in a couple of days. The guy came, reviewed the problem and did some work around the window. Was done in two days, no problem. He then said some roofers were going to get a hold of us.

My lady received a call from the roofing company around 8pm. We both work late nights so she was unable take this call, none the less a late call for the normal hour folk. She did listened to the message and called them right back, from which there was no answer, and she left a message. In the message the company left, the lady said they would call back the next day, which would have been friday, but decided to wait until Monday.

SInce we hadn't heard from the roofers all weekend, on Monday my lady and I decided to get up early and spend the day out of town. As luck would have it, we received a message from the roofing company at about 11:00am, stating that there was an appointment at 1:30, and we were to be at our place. This appointment was made without our acknowledgment. Strike one for communication. We then received a call from the gentleman that showed up at our door. The guy's name was Greg. Lets just say that his social skills need work. My lady discussed with him that we were out of town, and that there was a lack of communication regarding this appointment. Greg was rude and told her we needed to call their office. Lack of social skills, strike two.

First off, the communication between your company and us was shitty. Secondly, your attitude towards clients is shitty. I understand you had to make a drive out here, but its your company's lack of communication skills that put you in that position. From which, you chose to be an ass to the client, instead of calling your own office and figuring out what went wrong on your end. This could have been handled better.

The next day my lady called them to set up another appointment. She talked to Greg again, who was such a delight again. I saw Tom, the maintenance guy from the window fix, and asked him if they need to even get into our apartment. Tom said no, he felt there was no reason and didn't understand why himself. Tom works for Cal Prop by the way.

So Greg came the next day and I decided to stay home from work to see what all his attitude was about. He came in, said just about nothing, measured the window to the wall, and asked if our unit was the front of the building. No it is not, there is another door right next to ours when you first walk in and clearly another apartment unit next door. He was in our apartment for that measurement in the room and that question. Basically he needed to know which window the leak was over from which could have simply talked with Tom through Cal Prop or easily asked us from the front of the unit, how many windows back it was. He also could have just measured from the outside.

For strike three, we head back towards lack of communication. It would have been nice to let all the units know that you were going to be working on the roof on a certain day, at a certain time. At least 24hrs. ahead of time. If this were a home, you would have to let us know. Well guess what, this is our home regardless of being an apartment unit. We pay to live here like everyone else.

The point of this, you are a company that lacks the care of communication and social skills. This allows your client to think that you give a rats ass about any future connection or work. Also that you probably hate your job and are miserable, and like to take it out on your clients.

I would never go through your company and will make sure to tell others about your horrible service.

Be Warned: Do NOT use this company!

Contracted with this company for a roof leak. Owner Greg diagnosed the cause of the roof leak. He took 2 1/2 weeks to return for the repair. Less than a month later, the roof leaked again in the EXACT same spot. Once paid, Greg was very unresponsive to calls. His staff finally returned to inspect the leak over 2 1/2 MONTHS later. They said they would return to repair the leak, but NEVER DID. Upon calling the owner again 3 MONTHS later, he was extremely rude and would not address my concerns.

I have since hired another company who performed an effective repair within a week's time. If you are considering hiring this company, look elsewhere.
