I normally do not like to write bad reviews; but in the case of RCR, if you expect service after the job is completed, you should not hire this company. I hired them in 2019 on the recommendation of three friends; two of them are contractors, and one was a realtor. Perhaps RCR works well with contractors and realtors, but not with individual homeowners. I'm giving them 3 stars because, hopefully, the initial roofing job will hold up. However, when they installed my gutters and downspouts, they eliminated 1or 2 downspouts that were there before. One of the gutters is angled the wrong way, so water is not properly draining. A second problem that came up last year during the heavy rains, I have a leak somewhere above my flat roof. Once the job was completed in 2019, and once I paid in full, I asked them multiple times to come out and check my issues. They always had some excuse, and in the dry season, I just got tired of nagging them. Then, when the heavy rains came at the end of 2022, I discovered the leak. I called them and specifically asked ""Is this covered under warranty, and if so, is the service call for free""? They said ""yes"". However, the day after the call, they tried to charge me for an emergency visit. In fairness, I protested and they dropped the charge. But they also didn't fix the leak, it is still there. I finally gave up on them, and I am calling other companies to fix my leak. Technically, they gave me a written warranty of 5 years, but they won't respond to my messages. However, if they ever decide to honor their warranty, I will be sure to revise this review.

A trusted friend who's a contractor highly recommended RCR, and they've been awesome. Super friendly and easy to work with, very efficient, reasonable prices. Highly recommend!

Horrible, Terrible and sub standard work. This company was sent to my elderly mothers house by ATI contractors, and Craig Cola. They swooped in 1/2 hour before the roofing company my mom hired came. The roof was done so bad, even lay people could tell. Of course as soon as the first rain happened the roof started leaking. Pouring out of the light fixtures. The house has never had a leak since 1980 until this co did the roof. Now they are saying there's nothing wrong as my elderly mother mops up water everyday of her brand new floors....this is an outrage....people need to stop taking advantage of people, especially the elderly who are easy prey.

Very disappointing experience. Last year I paid this company a bunch of money--more than I expected--to replace about 10 broken ceramic tiles. Fast forward 18 months, my roof started to leak and it was coming through a bathroom ceiling. I called Ramon, who did the work last time, on his cell. He asked me to text him a picture of my roof so he could see about replacement tiles. Now it is a week later and after five phone calls to the office and multiple promises from the office manager, Blanca, that Ramon would call me I have never heard another peep from Ramon or anyone else. Meanwhile my roof has continued to leak and I finally realized I needed to find another roofer who does ceramic tiles. I am beginning to wonder if Ramon never responded because he did not properly complete the work he handsomely charged me for last year.

We had a deteriorating flat tar and gravel roof on our North Berkeley duplex and wanted to install solar. A new roof was required. We needed a roofer who had a reasonable price and would work cooperatively with the solar contractor. RCR offered clearly the best deal. They upgraded the foam insulation under the new PVC membrane, completely rebuilt the three skylight frames, two of which had been leaking, and installed new skylight domes, all for a price that was very reasonable compared to the other bids we had. RCR kept to the agreed schedule, communicated very well with us during the project, and performed exactly what we agreed on. The City inspector not only passed the job but told us it was ""very good."" The solar contractor who came next agreed. This was in June 2017. When the rains finally came late that year and in early 2018, the roof held up beautifully. No more leaky skylights. But then in late March the tenant in the front unit reported a leak: water seeping down the inside wall. I emailed RCR, and Blanca, who runs the office, sent Roberto, the owner, out within an hour to come look at it. He was able to track it to a roof bolt for a stanchion that PG&E had installed as part of the solar job after the roof was installed. PG&E had not done a good job sealing around the bolt. Roberto caulked it, and also caulked the other bolt. He took care of it even though it was not RCR's fault. My wife and I much appreciated the good work they did and the quick, responsive way they reacted to our call about the leak. This is a mom and pop outfit with an able crew of workers, and they stand behind their work. We like that.
