Tim and Susan Boynton started RCB Roofing, driven by a mutual commitment to quality and family values. Tim has a rich background in home renovation and construction, having run QHI Atlanta for over ten years prior to starting RCB Renovations, Inc. in 1998. Susan became a co-owner, playing a key role in developing the company’s customer-focused strategy and promoting a family-oriented culture.

They aimed to provide trustworthy roofing solutions to their community, emphasizing integrity, prompt service, and a personal touch. Over the years, RCB Roofing has evolved into a reputable, BBB-accredited business, recognized for its expertise in storm damage repair, residential roofing, and commercial roofing projects. The Boyntons envisioned a company where integrity and family values guide every project, ensuring customers feel valued and supported throughout the roofing process.

Tim’s father, Richard Charles Boynton, significantly shaped the values that define RCB Roofing. He was recognized for his strong work ethic, integrity, and commitment to doing what is right—qualities he passed on to Tim from a young age. In naming the company RCB after his father, Tim sought to perpetuate these guiding principles, ensuring that every element of the business reflects integrity, reliability, and a dedication to quality. These principles have shaped the company’s customer service and craftsmanship, acting as a constant reminder to uphold the legacy of character and responsibility that Richard Charles Boynton represented throughout his life.

Initially would have given 5 stars, the crew was very friendly and appeared to have a done a good job, the new roof looks great from the ground and the curb. However, they advised us we would likely need new gutters to go with the metal roof, which it turns out we do.

We called the gutter installer and they told us that they cannot replace our gutters as the drip edge on our roof was installed incorrectly. I checked with the manufacturer, and they sent the instructions showing the drip edge should have been installed just the way the gutter people said, with about a 1"" uniform edge. Ours is about 3-4 inches long, with handmade cuts to just above the old gutter mount, but not high enough to allow access to the screw. It's made the old gutters nearly impossible to remove.

I texted Tim Craft, the representative who visited with we signed the contracts with Lowes, and he replied, ""I will take care of this...."" Still would have been 5 stars. He requested pictures, which I sent (attached to review), three days later, after mutliple follow-ups, he finally replied, ""Our suggestion is to have the gutter installer use a dremel type tool to cut the gutter hanger behind the drip edge but in front of the fascia. If he happens to damage or needs to cut the metal only the damaged panel(s) would have the warranty voided. I hope this helps.""

Not only doesn't it help, it's insulting. The panels are already damaged, they were installed incorrectly, and the gutter installer can't remove the old gutter - I removed a small strip myself (photo attached) and can't get to the screws in most of the hangars. And they're going to void my warranty if the panels are cut, after they've been hand cut with tin snips by the installers and improperly installed? Ludicrous.

I pushed back, and he said that Bobby Lewis from the office would call me later last Friday, 8/25. He didn't, and I texted Tim that the morning of 8/26. He didn't bother to respond until Monday, 8/28, by giving me Bobby Lewis' contact information. Bobby Lewis, of course, didn't bother to answer his phone, so I left a message, and he never bothered to return my call, either.

I filed a claim with Lowes, since it became obvious RCB wasn't going to stand behind their work on their own as promised initially. Still waiting to hear back from Lowes to see how they intend to handle it a week after reaching out to them. Meanwhile my gutter job has been postponed and there is potential damage to my foundation and definite damage to my lawn every time in rains in the meantime.

See the photos attached to the review - absolutely no question the install was done wrong.

Almost $35000, and this is what I get. STAY AWAY FROM RCB AND LOWES!

I will happily update my review if/when RCB makes it right if they do so of their own volition and in a timely, professional manner.

Sub-contracted for Lowes
Quality work. Got my roof installed in one day. And they're coming back to repair damage from a tree limb that fell through my new roof.
