We have had an overall great experience with Ramey Roofing. Loved that they were a local company (support the community). The original roofing job was clean and easy and they were very professional and relational. Six months later I noticed a leak when the rains hit- they came out, assessed the issue- it wasn't a roof issue and they sealed and fixed it anyway! So of course we highly recommend RAMEY ROOFING!

Absolutely awful. They left a gigantic, unbelievable mess which they failed and refused to clean up even after having been asked over and over to address, in keeping with what they agreed to do and were paid for.

A couple years ago John Ramey came out and gave us an estimate on our 1000 sq ft roof. He's a long time local contractor. He had tile samples and suggested a certain one that was the color we wanted and was a new reflective material. Two guys arrived on time and did the stripping of the thred old layers. The next day three other guys arrived and checked all the wood and replaced what needed replacing. The next day the roofing materials truck arrived early and they unloaded materials onto the roof and four guys started roofing. They arrived the second and third days and finished the job. They did the garage in the rear of the property too. Every thing was itemized and John arranged for the permit and inspection which was completed in two separate visits. John was responsive and visited our house everyday to make sure it was getting completed onetime. The workers are kept busy by Ramey Roofing but I never knew there were specialists who do one aspect of the work. I'd use them again and in fact we used him on my in-laws house. I was also very pleased with the reasonable price.

This post is long overdue! We used Ramey Roofing about a year ago on our house in Westchester. The house needed 3 layers of shingles removed and new plywood in about 70% of the roof. What I appreciated the most about Ramey Roofing was that they were extremely honest with the quote. We had other roofers stop by that didnt even go up on the roof, and gave us quotes to add plywood on 100% of the house, even though 30% of it didn't need it (where our addition was).

When the crew was here, they were extremely professional and did a great job cleaning up. Really a class act.

Do not use Ramey Roofing. I have been going back and forth for weeks with them. They put on a roof for us in 2006 and now needed a few minor repairs. Jon came out said he would give estimate, had to call nonstop for weeks, then Friday they were supposed to come and fix it, nobody showed up and I stayed home all day, took a day off work. Nobody called, nobody will ever return a call but will always say that they will. No integrity or customer service with this company. Very disappointed.

Attention to detail from beginning to end!

We needed to replace our roof and interviewed 3 different roofing companies. When the representative of Ramey Roofing showed up, we were pleased and surprised to find out he was the owner of the company - Jon Ramey. He sat down with us, explained our options, reviewed his pricing, explained what might cause the quote to increase, and said he would confirm the quote in writing to us via email that same evening which he did.
His price was competitive with the other quotes we received but the fact that the owner took the time to sit down with a prospective client and walk us through the entire process and then follow it up with a detailed quote the same day, convinced us to select his company.
His team showed up the first day at 8:00am and Jon was there to give initial direction and also answer any questions we might have. His team was amazing! They showed up on time, had an amazing attitude, and put in a full day's work. Another impressive detail is that after work each day, his team would clean the entire area to insure there was no roofing materials, nails, etc. left in the yard or walk areas.
They finished the job in 3 days, exactly what Jon had estimated. The last day, after the workers had left, I heard a ladder being setup outside. I went outside to see if they had forgotten something and it is Jon Ramey inspecting the finished work done by his team - this guy really cares about the service he is providing to his clients.
We received his bill after completion of the work and it was in line with what he had estimated - no hidden or unexpected charges and the additional woodwork required was well within expectations. It was a pleasure working with Jon and his team and if you are looking for quality and service from a business owner, you should consider Ramey Roofing. We're glad we did!

This is the second time within 5 years that I've used Ramey Roofing. First time was to reroof the house & then recently the garage. Jon is very professional & dependable. Most of my communication with him was either by email or text which he always answered within a few hours. Everything went smooth & both roofs look fantastic. I highly recommend Ramey Roofing.

Good work, good price from a family owned roofing company

I initially had Jon come out and give us a bid on replacing the roof about 3 years ago. He struck me as very honest because he let us know that we could probably just do a repair and get a few more years out of the existing roof. It would have been easy for him to sell us a new roof then but he didn't. We did a patch and waited

Recently we had another leak and decided it was time to replace. We had them do a full tear off and re-roof of our 67 year original beach cottage and it went well. Their bid was competitive if not a bit lower than a few others that we got. The tear off was completed in a day and the did a great job of cleaning up after what I'm sure was a huge mess. We had quite a bit of wood from the original 67 year old roof that need to be replaced and they took care of that as well at an additional but reasonable cost. The new shingles went on quickly as well only held up by getting the city inspector on site. There were a few small problems with some nails that came through the eaves but Jon came out and took care of that with his son and painted over the problems.

All in all I'm happy and would use Ramey Roofing again.

I bought a solar-powered attic exhaust fan and preferred to have a regular roofer install it. I knew it would be a small job so I called 10 roofers about this. 4 never called back, 2 said it was too small for them [i.e. don't waste my time].
