Rainbow Roofing replaced our roof in less than a week and did an excellent job. All of the guys working on the roof were so nice and hard working. Although we won't need a new roof for awhile, I wouldn't hesitate to hire Rainbow Roofing again. They are excellent! Thank you, Joe!

I was referred to Joe by a co-worker. I am so very pleased with the prompt service and responsiveness I received by Joe. I called and called various of roofers and no returned calls. I needed 3 vents and some shingles installed. Joe and his crew came out at the promised time and got the job done at a reasonable cost. Thanks Joe and crew!

We started the process of looking for a roofer six months in advance. Since we were adding a solar system, we had specific requirements for a replacement roof. We had a shake roof previously and were unsure about possibly changing to composite. We contacted five different companies for estimates. Each company gave us a comprehensive packet of information as well as emails and regular flyers in the mail. Only one company, Rainbow Roofing, came by and dropped off one sheet of paper in a folder with addresses handwritten on the cover of several houses in our area where they had installed new roofs. The owner Joe, came by and met with me on his plan to replace our roof. No bells and whistles and hard sell, just a simple plan on how to upgrade our roof with the highest quality materials at the best price. Joe's bid came in around lower mid-level of the five bids. With his roof recommendation, we felt confident that Rainbow Roofing would do the best job and we were right. Not only did they install the roof perfectly, they did so much more. They installed three skylights and two attic fans, as well as several vents that would improve the temperature of our home. They also adjusted our faulty gutters and installed metal gutter screens at one end of our home free of charge. His crew were the most professional, friendly, and competent people we've ever had work on our home, and all this during 100 degree temperatures installing a heavy dark gray composite roof. We highly recommend Rainbow Roofing. Please feel free to contact us if you'd like to talk further.

We had a small leak in our roof over the garage. Joe came out and the first thing he said was that the roof was in really good shape overall-that was nice to hear, and a bit unexpected since I usually expect up-selling.
Given that this leak wasn't intrusive (in the garage)- Joe suggested doing as small fix and seeing if that took care of the problem.
It turns out that his team needed to come back a few times, but this was part of the plan to keep expenses down. It seemed like a really honest and genuine approach. Joe was really good about checking in with me on the progress.
The bill was surprisingly low for the attention, care, and quality received.

I had a small leak over my garage that started last year. I had a roofer come out and repair it, but as it turned out there were no more heavy rains so I didn't get a chance to see if it was fixed. When the first rain came this fall (2015) it turned out there was still a drip, although not as much as before. I called the previous roofer but they couldn't commit to a time to come out and fix it. I guess they had a lot of bigger jobs like replacing entire roofs going on with El Nino coming and didn't want to bother with something small.
After reading the reviews here I called Rainbow Roofing. I am glad I did! Joe came out and took a look. He could see where they had patched around the chimney, which seemed to be where the leak was originating, but saw that the metal was rusted and thought that to fix it the metal should be replaced. He also pointed out an area near the chimney when the roof was replaced by a prior owner that wasn't done exactly right, something about how the tiles should be layered, and that they'd fix it.
It was going to rain a few days later and, unasked, Joe came out and put a temporary patch on the roof to direct water away from the leak. When the metal was fabricated Joe's crew came out and installed it. We have since had a few heavy rains and there have been no leaks.
I am happy to recommend Joe and his company! Joe is someone who takes obvious pride in his work and that you can trust.

Rainbow roofing was recommended by my granddaughter. After four estimates for roofing my 8' x 16' shed, joe's was the lowest and most reasonable. The workers did an excellent job. I also needed some gutter and downspout work done. Joe gave me the name of the person he uses for gutter work. His name is Gil from GT rain gutters also in redwood city. They also did excellent work. I would recommend these companies to anyone who asks me.

I was referred to Rainbow Roofing by a friend who is a real estate agent. My husband and I are very pleased with our new roof. Rainbow Roofing didn't rush the job and have excellent workmanship. I enjoyed working with Joe, the owner, because he is honest and tries to help his clients save money. Since we have a detatched garage, Joe suggested we do the garage roof in a different roof tile to save us a bit of money. He helped us pick a tile that was very complimentary to the tiles we wanted to put on our house. Joe's crew of roofers are excellent. They always cleaned up every day so there wasn't debris, nails and dust in our backyard or driveway. I will definitely recommend Joe to others.

Joe who owns Rainbow Roofing is honest and thorough. I chose not to do a new roof but to patch the old one. He did a great job at a very reasonable price.
He was prompt and is a roofer I would trust.

We called Rainbow Roofing after water was coming into our game room. They were quick to respond, did a great job of replacing the roof, the 80 year old gutters and added some extra trim work at a very fair price.

so I just had my roof redone, and to not just say that ""great job you must hire him"" I will give specific points to help you decide for yourself. I am very happy I went with Rainbow Roofing and Joe.
1. The obvious: they got the job done and I think took the time to do it right. Made nice work on the valleys, vents and flashing of edge cases such as the chimney. of course, I bet most people think the same on most of the roofing jobs they got (unless something horrible happens) so lets call this first point as ""good, but expected"". the following points are to me the ""above and beyond""
2. His quote was not the cheapest but on the cheapest.
3. His quote included work that others didn't: specifically for my case, he was the only one that offered to do I needed: adding eve ventilation. no other roofer would do that (not even the ones at higher price points). Joe is the only roofer with carpenter skills and his job was superb. not to mention he took the time to come twice before the job to ""consult"" me on should I do eve ventilation or not.
4. while doing the job, he noticed one of the gutters was failing (with rotten wood behind it). he replaced it for free! so here is a case that I did not wanted to pay for new gutters, and when one (not all of course) was found to be defective, he replaced it for free! anyone doing remodeling knows how bad you feel that costs keep going up when the projects is already underway...
this could easily be such a case, but Joe made sure I don't get into that stressful state and said ""don't worry, I will replace it for free, I just won't paint it"". awesome!
5. I have 2 skylights. One of them I thought was done well, but when they worked on re-flashing it I found out that it was not really done professionally. Joe made it look so much nicer now (from the inside!). he added nice bracket around the trim and a rubber that makes it now air tight. so he took care of not only the flashing, but the actual seal of the skylight itself which is better job then what the original installer of the skylight did.
6. my roof was not a simple one. I had 2 old layers and only skip wood so they had to take all of the 2 layers and put a new layer of plywood or OSD. so it is more work then some other less older roofs.
