Rude Rude Rude!!
We had an estimator come out without giving notice, showed up and we were confused on what he needed, told him to hold on while we contacted the owner he said ""I have plenty of other things to do since you guys clearly don't know anything"" walked out and left!!! Showed up in a beat up run down truck that didn't look good for business either. Tried to call the office and they sent me straight to a full voicemail box!! Clearly they have no idea what customer service means. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND.

I have worked with Mike Cappucci on multiple projects related to my home and the work on my roof is always done on time and within budget. RJ Owens repaired my flat roof for new insurance needs and I couldn't be happier with the results. Mike Cappucci is the man you wanna talk with, straight forward and honest. He gave me a couple options and plans for what they would do and we went from there. Permitting and work was done very quickly and final inspected within 7-10 days. The City I live in can be slow with permitting and sometimes inspections but Mike did a great job with both, I know as a contractor dealing with city permits and inspections. All went smooth. In fact the day work was being done rain was threatening and Mike was running around getting tarps and things for my roof just in case. He also was wanting to move a lot of expensive musical equipment from the room with the work being done, afraid some might get damaged. What a personable thing to think of, all was ok as no rain came. Have had rain, roof is great with no leaks, all new flashing as well as drip edge. Ask for Mike Cappucci, I highly recommend them.

We contacted R J Owens Roofing to repair a leak in my roof. They quoted $2300 and we agreed on $2200. They completed their work and we went several weeks without a heavey St. Petersburg rain. When we did the leak still existed with water coming through the ceiling.
We called R J Owens and they sent a person to fix it and he claimed he did. Well on the next rain the same thing happened and they sent the same person and he said he fixed it. Well the next moderately rain it leaked again. I called R J Roofing and asked to speak with the owner or GM and was told they were unavailable. Shortly after the same person they had sent before called and said he was on the way.
I took him into the crawl spacespace and showed where it was. Something they had not done before. He volunteered the foam he had put in the valley the time before, not the reccommended repair techniqh, had caused the water to damn up in the valley and penetrate the leak.
Since we are selling the house and it is under contract and had to be inspected. The inspector's report on the repair that had been performed not once not twice not thrice but 4 times was scathing.
A person involved in the real estate transaction reached out to the owner of R J Owens who has not resopnded in 4 days. It seems clear there is little interest on the part of R J Owens to do the right thing and stand behind their work. Even as shoddy as it seems to be.
We are contracting with another roofer who seems to be reputable and respected.

R.J. Owens roofing contractors replaced our tile roof many years ago and our flat roof a few years after that. They are a local family company who does not sub-contract their work and they do an excellent job. We can not complement them enough! On Richard's first visit, he walked us down our street of tiled homes and pointed out the good and bad jobs and explained why. We asked why we see houses with the tiles stacked on the roof for days and he explained that it wasn't to get the roof used to the weight, it was that those companies used sub-contractors who were on another job! .
A while back, we had a solar/roofing company install panels on the flat part of our roof. Recently we needed to have the flat roof replaced. Since we had one free remove and replace coupon from the solar/roofing company, we had them replace the flat roof. They told us they could do it in one week. Two leaks, a damaged ceiling, Water dripping into our kitchen appliances, 30+ phone calls not returned (they use an answering service), solar panels sitting on the patio for two months and many headaches later, We called Richard Owens for advice and help. (We are giving the other company a chance to fix the problem).
Even though we didn't use his company this time, Richard helped us out. He takes great pride in his work and his company, the secretary is more than helpful and understanding, Richard returned our calls promptly. He was willing to come and assess the problem and spent over 40 minutes on the phone with us answering many questions we had about how the process was supposed to be done, how much time we need to give the other company, our rights, what damage the other company was responsible for, permit, inspections and materials information. We can't say enough good comments about this company other than fantastic. From the first meeting to the end of the job everyone was professional and respectful . Gayle Neithamer presented a quote that we felt was extremely professional and spot on . Didn't hold anything back like surprises . The crew was absolutely fantastic as well . And Mr Owens runs a very professional company that I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone who needed a roof.

Very satisfied customer. RJJ Owens installed tile roof 15 years ago. We called them when roof developed a small leak, which proved to be elusive. Initial repair cost less than estimate; company responsive when leak persisted, promptly making additional efforts until leak fixed, all without additional cost, any delay or complaint by company.

Terrible customer service after they got their payment. They broke my air conditioner. They damaged the wires which created a short that melted my transformer. The repair cost $474. They reimbursed $110 for the cost of the damaged wire repair. They refused to pay the full repair even though without the wire being damaged none of the other damage would have been caused. When they damaged the wires they shorted out and melted my transformer. I deserve my air conditioner to be restored to the same working order it was on the day they started the roof. The cost of total repair was $474 not $110. The damaged wires created all the rest of the damage to my system. I should not have to be responsible for any of that repair to restore my system to where it was the morning they started work on my roof. They won't even call me back to discuss the situation. I have made multiple calls. I made a complaint to BBB & am leaving this review. They refuse to reimburse me for total damage and refuse to speak to me about it. They were paid for the roof by my condo association so there isn't any way for me withhold the repair fees from their payment.

Friendly and prompt but not a very professional contactor. Respect the clients property and leave everything as you found it shows professionalism. The fine details mean a lot. While I hope the roof is of quality, the fine details and professionalism wasn't there. Just another average contractor, I would not use them again.
