We hired Protecta when we found out we needed a new roof when getting updated solar panels. I researched a few roofers and Protecta came out with the best quote...but that wasn't the reason I chose them. Diego (their manager) came out to do the quote and his decent and mellow demeanor made me feel at ease. He was confident in his company's ability to do the job, and worked with me and my budget. His staff worked hard and left my house looking new. There was a lot of wood that was rotten and they repaired all of it. They also helped out with a balcony section that had rotted out.

Protecta Roofing was referred by a trusted friend of mine. They did an amazing job. I have solar, and they took care of getting a professional to remove and replace my solar panels.

There was never a mess in my yard or on the walkways. The workers cleaned up after themselves. They were on time and worked quickly.

Diego called and came by regularly to give me status updates.

The roof looks amazing, and I believe some of my neighbors will also be contacting Protecta.

BAD JOB! NO RESPONSIBILITY. Yelp makes you give at least one star but I wish I could give negative stars and take something away from them.

OKAY this is going to be a rant. I'm about 24hours from taking legal matters and looking for a second opinion.

Outside of them being unresponsive to the issue and taking almost 2 weeks to get out to look at WATER damage. They have a snobby attitude about it as well.

When they originally came to redo the roof, they damaged the wood in our ceiling by piercing through due to not measuring out the beams correctly. I don't do this line of work but I can tell you that's a rookie mistake. I decided to let it go because I assume they just made a slight mistake and they ended up covering up the damage.

First leak occurs and they come to seal it up after 2 weeks of leaking into the garage. Mind you- I called them immediately to come fix it.

Second leak occurs and takes another 2 weeks to fix. I believe it's been sealed because it hasn't leaked since.

3rd leak occurs and now I'm annoyed because it's 3 separate parts of the roof so who knows where else there could be damage. So they take their sweet time to come out and do a baby fix. They showed me the pictures and again, I'm not the ""professional"" but I told him that I think it's done incorrectly and they said that it is fixed. So I have no other choice but to believe them.

SAME spot, 4th leak comes in and this is where the plot thickens. HE TELLS ME THE WATER IS COMING FROM THE INSIDE. Read that stupid sentence again. He tells me that my patio cover is having water come from the inside. The logic behind this is so outrageously brainless that I just decided to take matters into my own hands.

Anyways if you've made it this far into the story, I'm working on getting a second opinion and taking legal matters because this group should not have a license or be out in the world to harm other homes. If there is anything to take from this, it's that you get what you paid for and I ultimately regret going with a company that promotes a discount because now I have a leaky discount roof and the water is ""magically getting into the ceiling""

So glad I found these guys. I met with Diego and he gave me the very fairly priced bid. The workers showed up on time, and cleaned up after each day which I really appreciated. It was a complete reroof so it took 2-3 days.

A few months went by, and then the first big rainstorm we had I noticed a small leak coming from the skylight of a patio cover that they sealed with silicone for me during the roof install. I texted Diego in the morning, and one of the workers stopped by in the afternoon that same day to fix the problem for free!

Super impressed with these guys, I would feel very confident referring any friend or family member.

Highly recommended! I was about to install solar, but the Solar company blindsided me with a last minute request to repair a section of my roof. I contacted Protecta after getting a recommendation from a neighbor. Diego was super accommodating, came right away, gave me the quote the same day and started the job a few days later. The price was super reasonable and I decided to re-roof the whole house. The crew was great, fast and efficient. They left the site super clean after each day of work. I was introduced to Diego ( sales man) from Protectant roofing via two of my neighbors who each had a new roof installed. Each of my neighbors highly recommended him and one has even contracted them for more projects.
My new roof was completed today. It is beautiful! (See photos) The men were fast, super thoughtful and clean.
Everyday they cleaned throughout the project.
The crew took photos and showed me as they went. Cruz was the foreman in charge onsite. He was very informative and thoughtful. I was never in the dark. I am adding photos they gave me to this review. (They gave me photos as they removed the old roof as well. I just want to share my pretty new roof)
This is the first roof I have ever had to purchase, but I was never left with questions or feeling confused.
My project lasted 4 days.
If there were 6 stars, I would give them 7+.

We hired them to fix our roof and update our skylights. I highly recommend this company and service. We received service with a high attention to detail and they did quick and efficient work. Mario Pamatz Garcia was awesome to deal with and his knowledge of his industry was above and beyond. Diego Pascual was also awesome addition to the team and he had great communication. The whole entire crew were so professional, polite and efficient. I highly recommend you use them for anything you need!

Is ""delighted"" too strong a word to describe my feelings about a roofing company? Probably not in my experience with Protecta Roofing replacing my tile roof! Every step of the process exceeded my expectations. After reading nearly 100% 5-star reviews on YELP and other sites, I saw that Protecta is a family owned business (San Marcos, CA), which always sparks my interest. I generally prefer local small businesses. Of 5 companies I contacted, and 3 that I asked to bid, Protecta was easily the most thorough in answering my questions and educating me on various options and choices. From signing the contract to completion, everything went exceptionally well. The installers were efficient, thorough, and meticulous about every large and small detail. I can't imagine any other company could have higher quality workmanship. Of course, as mentioned by others, the crew cleaned up very carefully every day before leaving. Mario and Diego are very affable and were very accommodating. And yes, their pricing was definitely competitive. So indeed, I was delighted with Protecta Roofing, and I am confident others will be too.

They came out for a bid and never responded to texts or calls. Would never give my business to them no matter the cost. They are unreliable.
