I used Yelp to choose roofing companies that were closer to my area, especially seeking out those with better and more recent recommendations. A few companies seemed to want me to chase down a price quote appointment to fit their schedule. I said, ""No thanks!""
I requested bids seven other South Bay- San Diego- region roofer's and met some personable and professional owners/ salespersons and was given mostly competitive bids. A few quotes were over the top--- don't know why as all basically work with the same materials-- using the ""standard"" for roofing, aka: Owens Corning, ""cool"" roofing products. Still one bid came in at 33% over the price of the remaining, ""competitor"" businesses.
My choices came down to three smaller roofing contractors with personable owners who all left the impression of easily being able to handle our roofing needs.
I chose Professional Roofing Services and owner Esteban Flores. Esteban was gung ho and practically ran over to bid the job. He is a second generation roofer, running a company with the right skills and attitude. Confident service seems built right into Esteban's roofing business rearing and his confident outlook! The company also has good Yelp reviews from previous customers.
Esteban Flores' aura and calmness most relaxed my uncertainties and gave me confidence that he was a person I could work with. I also most enjoyed talking with him due to his sense of humor! Another kinship I felt with Esteban came from the fact we are both out of similar tough L.A. neighborhoods and now have made the San Diego area, the place we call home!
Mr. Flores also put me at ease over the large expense for my replacement roof and answered my questions about the associated products. Another fact that placed Esteban's company in the lead was that his Team start work within 10 days! A great thing to be assured of at the moment a down payment is signed over.
Eight days passed from the time I submitted a down payment until Esteban texted me that his Team would come out to start tearing off the two layers of the house's roof.
Esteban stated that it would take approximately 8 days for his guys to finish the work. The following day, the guys came over and dismantled and began removing the old roofing shingles.
The guys took two days to load everything into their company's hauling truck, having gotten down to the wood. The crew found a few places where the shiplap needed replacement. Overall the wood up top had no severe damage aside from some mold and overly beaten up sections. Esteban's guys replaced all of the rotten shiplap-- which was included under the terms of the roofing replacement contract. (What other roofing contractor includes most wood replacement without an extra charge??)
Day two following the take off, was completed with most of the house and a part of garage, had a new underlayer nailed down. A part of the crew came back for a few hours on Saturday and finished securing the underlayer.
The Team from Professional began installing the new O.C. roof on the following Tuesday and were done just after midday, a day and a half later.
I made the final payment to Mr. Flores,  complimenting him on his guy's professionalism and cleanliness of their work. The roofers worked well together, were on task-- chatting mostly about materials needed or the section they'd focus on, next. When they played music it stayed in the background-- definitely there was no party-like wildness.
The roof is done and looks beautiful (pictures attached)
Professional Roofing Services price was better than competitive; I'm pleased with the price I paid what my home got. There's a 30 year of a guarantee for the actual shingles and a 10 year labor and materials warranty for any issues.
I highly recommend Professional Roofing services to return your home to it's most beautiful state.
A few other observations: for clean up, the crew did a great-- beyond expectations job. Professional Roofing's on-site crew also did a great job communicating where they were towards completion and what needed to be done or when they would be back.
The one small issue I called about was to ask Esteban (after 1 week had passed), if he had an idea of approximately how many days it would be for them to start because upon making the down payment it seemed they'd lost track of me. I had a text from Esteban early the next afternoon, sharing that the crew would be arriving the following morning to start work.
Original when I'd asked how long the job would take til completion, Esteban projected, ""up to 8 days."" The hardworking Team finished the job in 6 days, with one day where I was told no work would be out! Making it a 5 day job!
We definitely believe we got our money's worth and we'll be enjoying our home and it's new, gorgeous roof that adds so much to its look.
The best choice, the hardest working and the neatest Crew, great service, and a fabulous new roof! So glad we worked with the professional's at Professional Roofing Services!

I highly recommend this company. They are 100% reliable. I called and he was able to come out for an estimate within 30 minutes. After quoting us the price, he was willing to lower it to best fits our budget. They came on time and extremely efficient.

Our roof was leaking badly and I called around to find someone to repair/replace our mobile home roof. Three compaies refused to work on mobile homes (not on permanent foundation) but I did manage to get 2 estimates. Professional Roofing Service gave us the best estimate and came the next morning. By that afternoon the job was completed,and the old roofing material was cleaned up. It rained the next day and we stayed dry. I had a couple of small leaks from my roof. On the same day that I called them, Professional Roofing Service personnel came out to my house. They quickly diagnosed the problem and offered me a very reasonable price to fix it. Since they fixed the leaks I have seen no more problems with my roof. I am pleased with their service and pricing, and relieved that the leaking problem has been taken care of.

He also took care of a balcony that was breached.

The real test - heavy rains (and we have had them) - so far, so good!
