Argh E.Had to replace a fence this company made. The footer was substandard concrete. The posts were misaligned, and the wood was the cheapest and did not last more than 5 years. IMHO find a professional and avoid inept
amateurs who can't even plant fence posts in a straight line.

Within three hours of posting this review, Pro Fence and Roof contacted me and stated that they had not heard from BBB (they now now responded to BBB after the case was closed) nor did they see my emails to them. After a bit of back and forth on email and Pro Fence and Roof stating that the staining job that we paid for was actually a side job done by one of their employees on his off hours, we agreed to a refund from them. I met Pro Fence and Roof and received the refund (in addition to a little extra as way of an apology for the trouble) in person as well as an apology for the workmanship. Pro Fence and Roof did ultimately fix the issue and we are now satisfied with the outcome.

We contacted Pro Fence and Roof in early to mid October to get a quote to stain a 138 foot section of our fence that we had power washed in the spring of 2018.
We were contacted by an employee and set up a day in mid-October (October 16th) to have the staining done. We provided 5 1/2 gallons of stain to do the one side of a shared 138 foot long fence. The employee of Pro Fence and Roof showed up and did the fence in just over an hour, including set up and clean up. He stated to us that he ran out of stain (4 gallons should have covered it based on calculations he had done but another gallon was purchased just in case it was needed and we had 1/2 gallon leftover from Fall 2017); there was stain was running down the fence in places and a 2 foot part of the fence was missed entirely.
The employee then stated that he would come do another coat at no additional cost, so that it would be more consistent looking - if we would go get more stain, which we did. For two weeks we tried to get him to come out to put the additional coat on while the weather was good but something on his end kept coming up (we left the stain on the back patio so he could access it any time). We understand that things come up but we were told a couple of times that he would be out on a particular day but then he did not show up and there was no communication.
We finally contacted the owner of Pro Fence and Roof directly through email along with photos. We received no response directly from the owner but the employee who stained the fence texted us and asked that we not text him but to called him directly. When we called, he said that he would come out and do another coat but it would cost us more money. That was not what was agreed upon - we paid money to have the work done right in the first place.
We contacted the owner of the company again and left a voicemail and then emailed him on Thursday, November 8th. He called us back that evening and told us that if his employee said that he would come back and do it at no cost, then he needs to honor that agreement and would make sure he came back out (the owner did say that he would not have agreed to do it for free but would have told us it would cost more to do another coat - why would it cost more if it wasn't done correctly in the first place?). He also stated that he would not have done a job this small in the first place - well who is the one that puts out the bids? In addition, he stated that if for some reason the employee could not / would not come out, then he would send someone else out to get it done. We were told that we would get a call the following day letting us know when someone would be out to finish the work but we received no phone call from anyone. We followed up with an email the following Monday (November 12th) asking when someone would be out to complete the job but we never received a response. So we sent two more emails each a week apart (November 19th and November 26th), again with no response.
We took our complaint to an arbitrator (Better Business Bureau) and Pro Fence and Roof did not respond to any inquires by BBB.
Jeremy L.Really good pricing on their fence work and excellent work as well. Looking forward to having them do another fencing job for me and will use them again anytime I need a fence or roof done.
Cole, representing Pro Fence and Roofing came out to give an estimate and access the damages. After insurance was called and a repair was justified by my adjuster, Cole returned to complete the job. Cole was very kind and courteous. He completed the repair in a timely fashion and with a smile. Afterwards, we reviewed the repair and I was very satisfied with his work.
Dorothee I.If you are looking for a fence company, just keep looking!!! John was recommended by friends of mine for whom he did basic fence job. I asked him to to a privacy fence for me - 8ft tall, board on board, the whole 9 yards. He told me he doesn't get a lot of requests like that and I should have taken that has a sign... It all started good, so good that I felt confident I could pay him when he was nearing the finish of the job. HUGE mistake. He never finished. I have post that are not cut to the right height and with no cap, pickets that are not stained, boards that are not nailed properly (how can I see through on a board on board fence!!???), corner of the fence no done properly (gaps), nails sticking out, and the list goes on. He also stained the side of my pool, which I doubt can be cleaned, I have concrete all over my driveway, and my patio tiles. Sounds like cleaning was an option as well for him. I am not even sure that he used the materials he said he would, looking at the color of a few of the metal posts, seems like they are all rusted. So many other things to list, and all documented with photos I shared with him so he would fix the problems. But I called him several time to get the issues addressed and no call back. I texted him, no answer, just a ""there are some things I cannot fix"". Looks like I am now heading the legal route. Avoid that guy at all cost, not worth the headache!!
Edit 5/25: John C is still a liar when saying it was not done by him (RE his comment below) He lost in arbitration done by the BBB and instead of apologizing, keeps ripping of people looking at more tendentious reviews. Good luck if you hire him.
the address is fake. it is someone's home and not a business. to conclude: 4419 hollandale avenue is not the location of pro fence and roofing.
