TL;DR : Sloppy and unprofessional.

We had a leaky roof and contacted Phoenix for a quote January 27 and were impressed by the quick and professional communication. Out of all the quotes we got Phoenix were the only ones who did not come out to inspect our site in-person (they relied on Google maps satellite images of our house to generate our quote) but their attention to detail and willingness to iterate with us over the course of many days via email and phone to find the best roof replacement + solar option had us sold. We signed our contract and put down our $1000 deposit with Phoenix in early February, of course canceling the other quotes. We were told we'd get the job scheduled within a few days and reached out many times over the course of the following 3 weeks (email, text, phone) with no response at all. Nearly a month after signing the contract and being ghosted thinking this was some sort of scam we finally got a 2 sentence email saying they couldn't do the job without further explanation.

Lots of frustration, time lost, and added damage to the house with the still-leaking roof that could have been avoided if Phoenix had a better due diligence process to not back out of our contract. Also no reason for them to sit on our contract and $1000 deposit for over a month if they were going to cancel on us in the end anyway. My sense it that they got better (more $$ profitable) jobs that came up and decided ours was not worth the hassle.
