Recommended Customer Reviews

Not that this review matters cause they apparently filed chapter 11 bankruptcy. We spent 60k on a new roof, fascia and solar. Within the first year we had a roof leak in our garage, luckily it was our garage. Impossible to get a hold of anyone there to inspect our leak. Finally was able to get a hold of our sales guy and he gave us the number to another company to inspect our roof that supposedly took over their contracts. Surprise surprise they want to charge us $600 to come out and inspect our roof that supposedly has a 20-year warranty. Yay Petersen Dean yayyy.
Stoked we went with a ""reputable company"" to avoid this whole situation

Installed panels in 2018. They installed nearly 9KW of solar panels but then only put in a 6KW inverter that peak limits production for five hours a day. The inverter failed after a year and they took nearly 6 weeks to replace it. Tried to follow up several times to have inverter upgraded to match the max solar production with no luck. The customer service rep tried to pass off some BS not realizing I'm a EE.

We bought our Solar System from Petersen Dean!
We BEGGED for owners manuals, or ANY documentation! Never received ANYTHING!!
THEY FILED CHAPTER 11 in July...
HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM!
If yelp had a NEGATIVE score, that's what they deserve!!

Well, almost 2 years and thousands of dollars and we have a solar system
that did not pass the City of LA inspection. It seems the plans submitted and approved did not match the work performed. This division filed Chapter 11 in early spring 2020 and nothing. All we need done is to have the corrected plans filed so that inspection can be completed and all the necessary paperwork
filed so the system can be turned on and we can get our rebate. For a while
someone responded to our requests - but obviously no action were taken.
NOW - no response. How long does reorganization take? We went with this company as we understood they had a good reputation in the field.
BEWARE....

We have ordered and paid for panels that have not been installed and the company just has a letter that says they cant work due to covid-yet other construction companies are working-they have $20,000 and no response can i get from them-We started this process in November of last year and panels were due in February!
Are they going bankrupt with our money?

The company itself is great - installation was timely and so far no complaints about the product. Customer service is another story. We dealt with Larry Cohen and referred 2 other friends to him as we were promised $250 per referral - they in turn have referred another friend. A year later and countless emails, texts and phone calls later we still have not received our $500 even though both systems have been installed and are up and running. Larry has now said that since yesterday they are not giving out referral money for 6 months.............is this a sign that they are going out of business? And what about old referrals that were promised a year ago - why are they not being covered? This stinks of a corrupt sales department

I decided to put solar panels on my roof in 2019 and decided to choose Petersen-Dean for their good roofing reputation. I signed a very inclusive contract in July 2019, sent the $1000 down payment. I received their contract and plan--and then a request for over $19,000 for the panels.
It is now Feb., 2020 and nothing has been done! No panels, no workmen,
and no person of authority answers my phone calls! I have literally lost
5 months of functioning solar power and over $20,000 without anything to show for it! Their contract actually says they violated the law by collecting money for work not completed.
This letter is being sent to YELP with the hope that I can save others from the total violation of consumer rights by the PETERSEN-DEAN COMPANY. Dorothy U.

My experience with Peterson dean was great, they walked me through every step along the way, really received many update phone calls and when appt. Times were made they were always on time. With this as my first solar project I didn't know which company would be best, but after seeing the Comercial on TV I felt comfortable with the streamlined install and financing Peterson dean provided, thanks Susan and Mike for everything.
