I got 15 quotes to replace our 40 year old cement tile roof with asphalt composite shingles. The original roof did not have any plywood under it, so this was a more expensive project than most. Performance Roofing had the lowest cost bid, is local to me in Napa (turns out the owners live just a couple blocks from us!), and was among the lowest pressure sales contacts I had. Everyone I spoke with at the company was easy to deal with and understand. They sent me a contract, which I was able to easily sign electronically. The office provided useful and detailed information about which shingles would be available and prices, reasons for one brand or another, and good options (I went with Certainteed Landmark shingles). They brought over big sample sheets which helped us pick a better than expected color shingle.
They said they could start between two and four weeks after I sign the contract, depending on the weather, sure enough just 15 days later I got a message they'd arrive later that day with a huge dumpster (to take away the old roof) and a respectful, quick working crew. Turned out there was a misunderstanding about needing to add plywood but they resolved that fairly and were still among the lowest cost bids we got.
The cleanup from a project like this is never perfect but they came back to pick up some stray debris and nails and met my expectations there. The work was fast as could be and the result is outstanding, the roof looks great.
I've already recommended them to neighbors and friends as many folks in Browns Valley have 40 year old tiles roofs like ours that need replacement soon. Give them a call before it starts raining again, you'll get a great price and quickly have a new roof. Steven was the on-site crew leader and he was outstanding.
