Our roof was damaged during hurricane Zeta, causing active leaks. It was a very old roof, so insurance didn't cover anything. My wife and I used our personal savings to repair/replace our roof. Pelican replied quickly, and gave an estimate based on Google images of our roof. I requested someone come inspect in person before hiring them. Robbie came and crawled into our attic and saw how old/damaged our decking was and updated the estimate for the needed decking repair.

Fast forward to when the crew came out - they weren't aware of the scope of the job. They tore off the old shingles, and started putting the new shingles on the same day. I asked Perry (the site manager) to make sure they were inspecting and repairing the decking to fix the sagging/wavy roofline. He assured me they were. Our shingles look great - but they did not repair the decking as agreed in our contract. There are rotten boards, big holes where the nails blew out old boards, and our roof looks even more wavy and sagging than before.

Ryan and Philip have been out twice to inspect, and keep promising to ""make it right"" but have not done so. They keep telling me they guarantee their work for 5 years, but that won't fix a bad decking job. If we ever sell the house, we'll need to take $$ off the price because of the wavy roof - and that was why we spent our own savings to fix it, only to have them not do a good job. My wife and I had a baby recently, so we were ok with them not fixing it right away - but they have not communicated their timeline, and continue to not follow through on their promises - even after we've been incredible patient and accommodating. We are filing a complaint with BBB, and hope Pelican will actually make this right.
