After doing the mandatory vetting through several roofing companies for a whole-roof repair/replacement job for one of our rental properties, my husband and I were becoming frustrated by the wide range of quotes and unreasonable push to buy products and materials that were not necessary for the job. We were about to sign on the dotted line with a company but decided to give Yelp another go, one last time.

Parkside Roofing popped up, and the overwhelmingly positive reviews are astounding. We contacted them. John, the rep/manager came out very promptly to meet us. There was none of the pushy sales pitch, just a well-spoken, self-assured, and very professional that was, to say the least, refreshing. He communicated succinctly all the pros and cons and left no room for question or doubt, and without any stress and strain, we landed at a very fair and amicable price.

We signed them on for the project and never looked back. The job started and concluded when they said it would. The only delay we endured was waiting on the final approval from the country. We couldn't be happier with the result. There will be more roofing issues in the future for us, and we know who we'll be calling.

Our roof leaked during the storms and we were not aware of it until later, because it was located above a closet we used for storage. We had a leak from our flat roof from the previous repairs the house owners had done in the past. Dave and John were very prompt and informative with the numerous questions I had for them, and also understood our urgency on our request.

Fast, honest, & professional! Parkside sent an inspector out asap to quote our roof replacement! They were the first to respond, the communication was excellent, and we had a detailed, honest quote within 24 hours. They accessed our roof as in good shape for its age with no need for immediate replacement however noted that because of its age it is past the point of repair in case of a leak. I hope to use them for our future, preventative roof replacement.

My detached garage had a leak that I patched and I know it's about time to replace the main roof since it was reroofed over 15 years ago. So I called Parkside Roofing who immediately responded to my request for a free inspection. John came out and spent a lot of time pointing out ""creative"" fixes that had been done to my roof and fascia over the years.

He used a drone fly-over and was able to show me on the screen the flashings that had been installed to divert rainwater and explained why some of them were either unnecessary or not effective. He also located a vent where the edges were beginning to lift up and a Verizon line recently installed that had been attached through a pole that was anchored above instead of under the shingles. He suggested that I patch both of those areas before the next rainy season (which I have since done). He said that the fascia boards that are pulling away are because incorrect wood was used. He also explained that because I have the maximum two layers of roofing right now, my next step would be to put in an entirely new roof.

At the beginning of the inspection, I told John that I plan to begin building an attached ADU in the next few months. He advised that it would be best that I wait and have the new roof installed at the same time the ADU is built so that there is continuity in the structure and design. He said the garage leak and the current state of the main roof should be fine for another year, but that if any issues did come up, to let him know and they would come out right away.

All this advice and guidance for the cost of a free inspection!

BTW, I really enjoyed talking with John and there was absolutely no salesmanship involved. We were talking about random things and jobs in general. I asked how is it to be part of a family business. His eyes lit up and he seemed very proud of the dynamics, quality, and service standards of his company when he responded. He said his favorite part was meeting with the clients. He said they do get pretty busy, but they're used to it. That's the type of company that I would like to work on my house!
