With a 35 year old flat roof that developed problematic ponding, we called on Richard Ramos and the crew at Pacific Island Construction. It was a big job and they had to create significant slope build up to eliminate the ponding situations. Probably the best way to describe it is that Richard and his crew worked our roof just like it was his own home! If there were minus (negative) stars that would reflect the service. Discovered that our PV install was not fully completed when we obtained estimates for cleaning of panels and maintenance packages from different companies years later. Missing is the envoy. Found out for the first time that this part called the envoy is routinely installed with every PV system to monitor the system / panels production, etc. and set up warranties. Calls made to Dennis, the owner of this company (I believe), including offering several times to send copies of original documents from the original PV purchase with installation have not resulted in a resolution for our missing part. Years later w/ a different company, and almost two-thousand dollars in additional costs our PV system will finally be completed. Lesson learned. Research is the key, know your product, company, and the work you are having done to your biggest investment, your home.

We discovered a leak in our roof, and we called several high profile roofing companies. Promises were made to come out to check on our leak, and after waiting four days we decided to go into Angie's List. We weren't sure if this was the right thing to do, but low and behold we connected with Dennis from Pacific Islands Construction. Within five minutes of my request for a quote I received a phone call from Dennis. That evening Richard came out to check on our roof, which was Friday, we received a quote early Monday morning, and our roof was fixed by Wednesday afternoon! Fabulous communication and the job was completed without a hitch! From now on we will go directly to Pacific Islands Construction for all of our home repairs!! Thank You Dennis and Richard! I purchased elastomeric roof coating but did not have the time to power wash and coat the roof myself. I was dabbling around Angie's List and my information was sent to several roofing contractors who contacted me.

2 were very poor with their communication, the 3rd company was Pacific Island Construction. I was put in contact with Richard Ramos and he was great from the start. Great communication, phone calls, email and text. His proposal was a little higher than the other 2 but I went with Richard because I shouldn't feel like I am pulling teeth to get a contractor to take my job, which was the case.

Richard did a fantastic job. He removed our leaking and deteriorating sky lights, sealed everything up, pressure washed, applied primer and 2 coats of the elastomeric coating in 3 days.

In the month since, we have had 3 heavy downpours in Manoa with absolutely no leaks and the house is about 10 degrees cooler since we don't have an attic and the ceiling is open.

Excellent in all aspects of the job, highly recommended.
