WARNING!!!

I worked for Orange Elephant Roofing and can confirm that this company operates like a Ponzi scheme. The money collected from customers for their roofing jobs is being used to pay for other projects, likely due to poor financial decisions. I was brought on to help get the company back on its feet, and even started a subcontracting business that did work for Orange Elephant.

Not only am I still waiting to get paid for the work I completed, but many other subcontractors are also facing the same issue and are being forced to place liens on homeowners' properties. The company is maxed out with all the supply houses, and this issue isn't isolated to one location--it's happening at their branches in South Carolina, Illinois, Colorado, and Texas.

I feel for the homeowners, many of whom have been good to us, but we have no choice when the company refuses to pay. It's a serious warning for anyone considering using Orange Elephant Roofing.

I am surprised at the bad reviews. I had a positive experience with these folks. I am near Charleston, South Carolina.

I knew the roof was getting bad and I had lost some shingles. I had several salespeople come by to ask to do the work but Boyd Culver was the guy I trusted for some reason. I cannot climb ladders due to a bad leg, and Boyd went up, inspected the roof, took pictures and came back down to talk to me about it. After some time to consider, I called him back and he took care of the insurance claim, even getting some items I did not know my insurance covered added to the claim, like window screens. I had choices of shingle types and colors to meet my expectations.

On the day the work was to be done, the guys showed up and IMMEDIATELY got to work. These guys do not mess around. Within 7 hours, the roof was done, the yard cleaned, and debris taken away. I think I found a single nail they missed.

I recommend Boyd Culver if you are anticipating getting your shingles replaced on your roof. Seriously, give them a call, and if you are near Charleston SC, ask for Boyd Culver.

I live in SC and had my very bad experience with this roofing company.
They had the roof replaced on my home after 5-months of arguing with my insurance co. about upgrades,ie, shingles and sheeting. My ins. co. would not pay for the upgrades and they did them anyway and are trying to make me pay out of pocket.I say to anyone that considers hiring Orange Elephant,be Curtain you have everything to be and a complete date in writing upfront or you may be hurt like I have been. If there was a spot for negative stars that is what I would give. They cashed our checks that were thousands of dollars months ago. 4 weeks ago they gave us a date. They knew how important this date was because we are under a contract to sell our house and it states in the contract that the roof has to be done to close on the house. They know that we already scheduled the appraiser to come out the day after the roof was supposed to be done and that isn't easy to schedule. We didn't hear from them for 3 weeks. The night before they were supposed to come out to do the roof we asked them what time they would be starting in the morning. They stated that they would not be coming and that they didn't even order the materials which we paid them for months ago and they cashed the check the very next day. I called them to figure out what was going on and he told me I was wasting his time by talking to him and now they are dodging us. I need this done. I need it done now. We are under 2 contracts so this is VERY important and they aren't keeping their word on anything. It is VERY upsetting. Now the people that are supposed to buying our house are very upset and the owners for the house that we are buying and under contract with also.

Low quality roofing company- Left a mess throughout the yard, in the garage, and up and down the whole street. Collected over 100 nails, never cleaned out the garage. Sloppy work....put 2 dented vents on the new roof- put a satellite back up on the new roof after being instructed to not put it back up- one top of all of that have major icicles hanging off the back portion everytime it snows.....could not provide a breakdown on the estimate which shows me they pocket a lot more than the job ran. Better roofing companies in Colorado- I advise to do your research.

I would avoid Orange Elephant. The attempted to do work during the contracted black out period that we did not agree to. Had someone not caught them it would have been very ugly.

I do not appreciate having bunches of ads for this company hanging off my door while having 2 NO SOLICITING signs right on the door that you can see from the street. I have asked on several occasions to have them stop but it keeps happening. If they can't even do that how well is their service?
