I'll preface this by saying that the following happened a number of years ago. It may or may not reflect their current business practices.

These guys did a nice job on the roof, but it was a nightmare to get them to actually do it. We got an estimate, signed a contract, and then they gave us the run-around for over a year and a half before they finally did the work. I believe that their guy who set up the contract might have messed up and given us an unrealistically low price. If that were the case, we'd have been willing to re-negotiate but they never said anything about that. Instead, they refused to return calls, promised to send people out and then didn't, told us they lost our paperwork, etc. We finally threatened to take them to the Contractor's Licensing Board and the next day, they magically found our paperwork. (This was the most transparent horse***t I've ever seen in a company like this.) When they finally put the roof on, it looked great, but it turned out that they knocked the air conditioner in the attic off-kilter while doing it. This caused a major leak inside one of the walls of the house whenever the A/C turned on. They swore they had nothing to do with this, but it was obvious what had happened. They finally sent a crew out to fix it and we've had no problems with the roof since.

This was overall one of the most unpleasant experiences we've ever had with a contractor. If they were going to lose a ton of money on this, they should have said so at the start and we'd have worked with them. Instead, they seemed to be trying to jerk us around until we went away. Godawful behavior.
