While the roof was done timely, several inspections proved that they had not completed the required work. It took nearly 3 months for it to be all complete.

The worst experience as the sales pitch. Charlie came to our home and gave us a ""cash price"" or a ""no interest finance"" price -- which had already built-in $2,000 at the front end -- so the bank (Wells Fargo) was getting their interest anyhow. Imagine our surprise when we begin getting statements from Wells Fargo for payments on the no-financed amount WITH FINANCE CHARGES ADDED. I have emailed several people at the company to help resolve this. It's now been several more months and the bank keeps adding finance charges.

The worst part is, Charlie didn't give us a copy of our agreement at our home. He'd promised to email it and never did. I have NO proof of the ""cash price"" or the ""no interest"" agreement. Lesson learned. We should have made copies of everything our selves before he left our house.

Now I get an email from Charlie saying ""my numbers"" are wrong. Well sure. I have nothing to prove otherwise, and we mistakenly trusted this man. He seems so knowledgeable and friendly and trustworthy. Now we're paying not only $2,000 more than the 'cash price' but ALSO finance charges to Wells Fargo.

Don't use this company unless you get copies of all agreements UP FRONT. Don't get caught in a he said/she said situation like we are.

We contracted NCR to replace the roof of our new home, and have come away extremely satisfied. The staff from office personnel, to sales, to the men doing the work, were great! The original scheduled time frame that we discussed was met, and we had a beautiful new roof, facia and gutters in four days. Not only were the workers timely each and every day, but their cleanup after each work day, is to be commended. We will definitely recommend Northern California Roofing in the future!

Due to the recent storms we experienced a leak in our roof. I contacted Northern California Roofing because they had a good Yelp! rating and plenty of good reviews. A salesman showed up and was extremely knowledgeable, knowing exactly what the issue was and how to fix it. He said 2-3 days of work. They rushed it in 1. Due to this there are some cosmetic issues with the work. After contacting the rep, he responded saying he would come by and look...never has. Of course for $5,000 for 1 day of work I expected better service. I don't mind them making money, but you have to earn it.

So eventually we got everything straightened out to our satisfaction, thus now 4 stars.

Stick To Roofing Only!

We had Northern California Roofing install a new roof and 6.5kW solar system on our Fairfield home in July/Aug of 2014 (Roof in July, solar in August) and the roofing job is spectacular, but the solar system has been the worst contracting nightmare we have ever had.
The roofers came out and installed a beautiful roof and the solar panels arrived a few weeks later. After some re-configuring of the system due to backorders, the solar system was completed on 5 August 2014, and up and running.
A month went by and I had to go to the City of Fairfield to get a permit for a new bathroom and fireplace, when I was informed by the city that a permit was never issued for my solar system and it was to be disconnected immediately. I contacted Northern California Roofing's solar salesperson ""Mr. U"" who told me he would fix it ASAP, but needed to get things like placards and seal holes before we could be inspected, as well as make changes to the plans (A MONTH LATER!). On 17 September 2014, a permit was finally submitted after several changes to the plans (despite the system already being on my roof and running), and the final inspection took place 23 September, where the system was finally approved by the city. It was at this time, the salesperson noticed the network card in the inverter was not working and ordered a replacement and collected our required PG&E documents for submission. The salesperson arrived a few days later and installed the network card and said it was up and running and would email us instructions on how to check our generation and usage online, but no email was ever sent and the ""web based monitoring"" was never demonstrated to us as even operational.
We were told the PG&E documents take about 30 days to process, so when we received our PG&E bill for several hundred dollars on 28 November, we called PG&E, and we were told no documents were ever submitted. When we contacted the sales rep ""Mr.U"", we were told PG&E returned them and the documents were in his spam folder and that he was on vacation out of the country and would get it fixed a week later. A quick call to PG&E confirmed that they keep every submission on file, even the rejects and that this claim of spam is false and PG&E informed us that if we were operating the system, our power could be disconnected per ""Rule 21"" of PG&E operating policy.
We then attempted to contact the office of Northern California Roofing and got the usual extension voicemail on 3 different calls. We left a detailed voicemail on 3 December requesting an explanation, and it was only around 10 December when someone finally called back and apologized for the delay in contacting us. We were told that the salesperson would be contacted after vacation and the problems fixed, and have not heard from them since. We sent a certified letter to Northern California Roofing on 29 December, requesting they contact us, and as of 6 January, we have yet to get a phone call, email or letter and have no idea when we can get our solar system online and we still have no idea if the web based monitoring ever worked.

Note: The roofing salesperson, Andy, and the entire roofing crew worked smoothly and on time with a permit pulled for the roof only. The rest was a total nightmare to include management never returning calls.

They did a great job and competitive price! Also appreciated how they cleaned up so well, showed up on time and completed new roof before rain hit!

The customer service and professional roof installers was absolutely great. My new roof looks great. The reason for the one star. I also had gutters installed, gutters that are guaranteed to not clog. The very first rain, the rain went right over the top of the gutters. The gutters are white the roof is black, now I have black lines about every 8 inches over the gutters. When I called they sent someone to scrape off the screens, I was told it was clogged by the material from the new roof tiles. The problem was the person that was sent out tried to clean the black off the gutters with no luck in fact the attempt made it worse, when I called back about the back smear all over the gutters they told me I could clean it myself or they would charge me $150.00 for them to come out and clean it. The worst thing it rained today and no water went into the gutters the water again went over the top...now I have to call again. :( I wished I would of went with a real gutter company.

The custimer service and professional roof installers exceeded my expectations. My new roof looks great. I am very happy with the whole experience. I had my roof replace by Northern California Roofing in 2012. I called them in May of 2014 when a tree limb fell on my roof, they came out the next day inspected the damage and repaired the roof the following day. I feel so glad I hired a company that values a customer. The crew even cleaned out my gutters. Great company!

Had a room addition put on 7 years ago. There was a slow leak, mold developed and a real mess. Our insurance AAA recommended NCRC to do the repairs. Andy the estimator came out and recognized the problem right away. Took pictures explained the problem and showed us how it could be fixed. Sent a timely estimate. Had the work scheduled and Ramon showed up on time and fully explained how he was going to fix the problem. He worked hard all day and was very helpful and asked a number of times if I had any question about the job. Cannot say enough about his work
ethic and service. I recommend NCRC after my dealings with NCRC. Thanks

I would like to start with we did not get any service. Like in baseball I have a three strike in your out policy.

Strike 1: Made an appointment for 5:00 P.M. on a Friday. The roofer wanted to come 3 hours earlier because was in the neighborhood but I had to work, so he cancelled the appointment and asked to come the next day.

Strike 2: Came an hour late to the appointment the next day

Strike 3: Is 4 days late to giving us a quote from the estimate

When it comes to contracting someone to do work on your home, how can I trust a company that has constantly proven that they cant stick to their obligation.

One pro, my husband did say the guys sounded knowledgeable.

I watched the whole job operation out of curiosity and concern, and noticed 3 blatant oversights/omissions during the 2 day project: valley flashing, 3 vent holes, and one air vent. On April 21, 2014 a roof job was started by a 3 man crew, 2 workers and a working foreman. While alone, one worker shingled the valley weave without any flashing installed, which was specified in the contract. I asked why and he said he would fix it. He then he added flashing to the remaining valley without fixing the part already done incorrectly. I told the foreman, and superintendent by phone, where they showed extreme concern, and the foreman had the worker redo the original portion of the valley with flashing. Then I noticed that 3 exhaust vent holes were sheathed over, which I had pointed out to the foreman earlier. The same worker then cut holes for the 3 exhaust vents, saying they were easy to miss while sheathing. I mentioned this to the foreman, where he showed less concern. The next day, after the superintendent told me there were to be 4 roof air vents installed, I only saw 3 vents and asked the foreman about the 4th one. He joked and had the other worker add the forth air vent. I mentioned this to the superintendent, also showing less concern, then kept extra vigilant for any more neglects, not considered worthy of being called mistakes. The superintendent did call and negotiate a discount at the end of the job in consideration for my supervision, which he said he would have caught those omissions if he wasn't off part of the time recovering from a medical procedure. That was quite revealing, meaning the company was admitting dereliction of their professional obligation.

The company touts being certified by the BBB, but the workers don't have the integrity to do the right thing when nobody's looking. Evidently I was the nobody, meaning the know nothing customer, and these were willful omissions to save time. The workmanship was good, but worker responsibility and supervision was lacking and wanting. Northern California Roofing Co. compensated me for providing supervision which was their responsibility. This helped my cost, but I couldn't overlook the incompetence without spreading the news to future unsuspecting customers. I expect this much irresponsibility from a non-licensed contractor, but not from this one with such a long list of credentials, especially the BBB.
