New City Roofing Company just finished up a new roof on my and my neighbors house yesterday. They did really good work and I tip my hat to the owners son David, who really did a fantastic job of running the installation crew, cleaning up and making everyone happy. They have dirty jobs (maybe Mike Rowe should join them for an episode), work hard and have to be in great physical condition to do this as a profession on a daily basis. They did 2 roofs here in the Richmond District in 4 days. Super.

I would love to give them 5 stars, but they did damage the trim molding on the front of my house which had just been recently painted. It looks like one of the doors on the back of their haul out truck swung open possibly (not exactly sure) when backed against the front of my house and banged into the first floor trim molding. It's at a height of about 9 feet and that's the only thing that's been remotely close since my house was painted a month ago. When I pointed this out to the owner Jimmy, I was met with a laugh and told ""sorry, sorry"" as he drove away with my check. Also, before departing I asked for a lien release with the final payment, I was told ""we don't do that, your cancelled check is your proof of payment"". Ugh!

They have no voicemail on either the cell phone line or the business line (which is a cell as well) when I called to find out where the signed off permit that was supposed to be left at my house today but was not. I did finally make contact and the permit and it was delivered last night.
