It was a dark, stormy morning at 6am and we found a leak in a bedroom. The leak was coming through pretty fast at one of our canister lights. Not knowing anything about roofs, I immediately went to Yelp for highly rated roofing companies. Neil's Roofing was actually not the first place I called, but after not receiving a callback quickly from another roofing contractor, I called Neil's Roofing. I'm so glad that I did, too.

Neil called back fairly promptly, and we discussed my situation. After describing the symptoms, Neil provided his assessment and told me that he could be over within an hour to look at it!

He arrived, looked at the leak and in the attic. He then went up to the roof to examine the area where the leak was. Did i mention it was still raining outside? After looking around, he found two issues that required addressing on the roof. He gave me a very reasonable quote and repaired it on the spot! Everything took about an hour, at the most. At the end, we had an informative discussion on proper roof maintenance and how/where my type of roof collects debris. This was an education for me, and it wasn't a lecture of any kind, and he wasn't trying to push any of his other roof services.

Neil is honest, fair, and very knowledgeable, and I am very impressed with his integrity and customer focus. I would definitely call Neil's Roofing Company again if I have other issues with my roof.

We needed to add ventilation to our roof. Neil came out to see it and explained the different options, eyebrow vents, soffit holes, turbine vents, a wired fan, or a solar powered fan. Our roof has some weird features (no fireblocking on part of the house, two separate roofs) so I was glad he saw it in person. We decided to go with Neil's suggestion of the eyebrow vents and soffit holes.

I know it wasn't a big job, but Neil gave us the same attention as if it were a big job. Neil communicated very well with us by email, explained the pluses and minuses of the different vents and provided quotes for the different vent options.

He and his workers showed up on time, worked efficiently, and cleaned up afterwards. We're very happy with the vents and our house doesn't overheat as quickly. Our roof will need replacement in about 8 years and we'll call Neil again.

I have read a number of horror stories about roofing contractors, so I am proud to recommend Neil's Roofing Company after my experience. Neil is a professional with an awesome work ethic and is thoroughly knowledgeable in all aspects of roofing and roof repair. I needed to have a number of small repairs done to my roof plus a couple of gutters needed replacing. Neil came out promptly, went through my list of items and walked the property looking at my roof for any things I might have missed. Things I thought would be major headaches turned out to be a simple fix and Neil explained in terms I could understand each fix that he proposed. He thought of a couple of ideas that I had missed and promptly sent me a quote that evening. I had totally overestimated my budget and asked that Neil proceed while I was out of town. Upon my return all of the items were complete and Neil came by and explained each of the fixes, what they had done. He provided a report on his work. Other workers I had on site commented on how well the crew had gone about their work. I would never hesitate to use Neil again and would highly recommend him to my friends.

1) He called me back shortly after I called.
2) He went and check out the roof the same day, then sent the bid.
3) He replied quick, got the repair done with in two days...

This past week, my wife and I had a unique experience after the last rain storm. We had a roof leak! So, like everyone else, we needed a roofer to fix the problem and we went directly to Yelp. This is where we found Neil of Neil's Roofing Company, located in Livermore. We read the reviews and called him. He was very responsive and a scheduled appointment was made. On the scheduled day, Neil came out early, located the approximate area of the leak, diagnosed the problem and began the work. (While there I asked him to do some maintenance on the rest of the roof.) He explained the problem, educated me on the art of maintaining a roof and he lived up to the reviews written. He was honest, did what he said he would do and asked to follow up with him after the next rain. After the job was completed a conversation ensued. I found out that Neil had started as an apprentice in some big named roofing companies and worked his way up to a journeyman level. He is an experienced roofer with knowledge of current codes and methods of roofing and you can't beat his work ethic and honesty. So if you ever have the same unique experience after a rain storm we had, or, need to give your roof a little maintenance, call Neil's Roofing Company in Livermore.

Professional, thorough, and trustworthy are a few words that would describe Neil. Since I don't like surprises, I was happy that Neiil provided us with a schedule of the tasks that we would expect to see daily. If there were any concerns or questions, Neil was always great about answering them in a timely manner. His excellent communication with me via email/phone was greatly appreciated.

Neil's Demo Crew were awesome. They did a fantastic job protecting our pool and yard from debris and left no trace of our roof being demo-ed. The roofers did a great job, too. Thank you.

We went with Neil after getting 2 other local quotes. The other companies seemd over priced and weren't as personable. We felt that Neil's price was fair and very reasonable. Finding someone you can trust with a large project (replacing our entire roof) can be unnerving, but I felt confident with Neil. He and his team did a nice job. The work was done so well, that we probably won't need him to replace it again in our lifetime. Neil has been such a pleasure to work with. We are sad that our experience with him is over. I would highly reccomend Neil's Roofing Company to anyone wanting a peace of mind.

My husband and I purchased a house recently. The inspections that were done prior to purchase indicated that some minor roof work needed to be done (sealing certain areas and fixing a few tiles). We called several roofing contractors to get estimates on the repair costs. Imagine our surprise when they stated that the roof needed to be replaced completely. This was not what we had expected and we were very concerned.

Well, then Neil came out to inspect. He let us know that 80% of our metal tiles were dented and it was not cost effective to repair the dented tiles. However, he said that none of the tiles were cracked and could last several years in the dented state. He recommended basic roof maintenance: sealing specific areas, cleaning gutters, etc and start saving for a new roof in 5 years. A few days after Neil came out, we finally received the report from one *other* roofing companies that concurred with his findings.

What set apart Neil? When he was providing the estimate he spent a lot of time answering all of my questions about my roof, including how to walk properly on my metal tile roof and providing all kinds of information about the different tiles available (for when the time comes to replace the roof). In addition, he was very prompt getting the bid to us (the other company didn't send it until I called back a week later).

Working with Neil is like a breath of fresh air. We dealt with a lot of contractors during this same time period, as were were getting some other construction work done on the interior of our house. The process was not pleasant and I met with a lot of shady contractors that grossly overbid or did not seem to enjoy working with women. Neil is different. His honesty and integrity made it such a pleasant process. He truly feels that if he treats customers right and does honest work, he will get repeat business. This shows in his customer service and in his work.

I must commend Neil on the actual work that was done, as well. When I called back to get it scheduled several weeks later, it was easy to find a date and time that worked for us. He came out when he said he would and did the work carefully and thoroughly. After the work was completed he sent us a report with pictures that showed the work that he had completed. We are truly satisfied and will definitely be calling him in a few years when we replace our roof.

When it comes time to replace the roof, we will call Neil. He has proven reliable, honest and dependable. We will be recommending him to all of our friends and family for their roofing needs.

I contacted Neil last year to take a look at our older shake roof. He came out and inspected the roof. He let us know it was at least 25+ years old and gave us two options. He said we could prolong it's life for a while longer by doing some repairs or replace it. I like that he gave us options! Other contractors that had come out only said to replace it. We weren't sure which option we wanted so we waited a bit. Then about a year later this we decided we would rather replace than repair. We contacted him again to see if he would honor his quote from last year and he did!
He was very good at email communication during the whole decision process as we had a lot of questions and a hard time deciding on color. He was patient and explained what to expect. Our roof was completed in the time frame stated and with price quoted. He also installed a Solar Tube for us.
We are happy with our roof and love the color we chose!

I have a 20 year old metal roof and needed to have extensive work done to the gutters, also repairs to some leaky skylights and damaged siding. Neil responded promptly to my call and helped me to decide the proper repair approach. He was knowledgable about how to do the repair and using the correct materials and sealants for the job. He pointed out some areas where corners had been cut in the original construction and where previous roofers had used the wrong materials and sealants. He gave me a very detailed fixed price quote.
