I had an excellent experience with Murakami Roofing. I found Mr. Murakami to be very honest when inspecting my roof and coming up with a quote. Our solar salesman said it only needed a coating but the roofer found otherwise saving us a lot of future headaches from a solar system on a bad roof.

Despite having lots of rain delays, their workers quickly came on the clear days to tear the old roof apart. They also took care of the rotted boards and fixed everything quickly and neatly. They also cleaned up well after each day of work.

The workers were really good about letting us know what was going on throughout the job. I really appreciated the work done for a reasonable rate.

This has to be the most disorganized and unprofessional roofer with whom i have ever worked. I've own three homes and never ad an issue with a roofing company like this one.
The roofers work hard but the management is terrible - didn't bring the correct supplies, ordered the wrong paint, the foreman on the job sounds like he's struggling and the people at the shop are unfriendly.
And they think if they come back and fix sloppy work for free that it's OK? No!!! Time is almost as valuable as money.
Do not waste your money or time.

Thank you so much Murakami. Our roof was repaired to perfection at the most reasonable price. I personally researched and engaged four other roofing companies. No one came close to Murakami's professionalism, personal touch, and competence. The boss himself, Mr Clint Murakami, surveyed our roof. He was up & down the ladder w/ tireless enthusiasm. I selected Murakami because I thought i would get knowledgable Japanese roofers, instead Murakami just sends other kind subcontractors who did not do a very good job. I believe in Hawaii Japanese are the best tradesmen.

March 2018, had our roof done in 2017 by Murakami's.. All the recent bouts of rain caused ponding on the roof. Called to inform them of the situation.. they came to assess and returned last couple days to remove damaged parts and reroof the area. We are extremely happy with their professional service and their commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.

Murakami was very professional from beginning to end. Shelly was quick to respond in regards to the bidding, scheduling and payment. The workers were very professional. They brought their own portable toilet on sight, cleaned up after the job was done and completed our re-roofing on schedule. I would highly recommend Murakami roofing.

November 2017. Very courteous employees and the customer service was excellent. The workmanship on my new roof exceeded my expectations. They did a very thorough job, and made sure that every detail surrounding the roof was excellent. The best part was I got this for the lowest bid. Mahalo Murakami Roofing!

They were prompt to respond to my on-line request for an estimate and quick to schedule the guy (owner) to come out and take a look at my roof; However, he came on a Friday and said it would take him a full week to get an estimate back to me. The other roofing companies that I used got an estimate back to me within one business day. To make matters worse, he never sent an estimate at all. I don't think he wanted the job which he should have just said.

First of all, should have read the reviews left by others before contracting the company. I have never had to complain about any service that I received, but the lack of respect shown by this company has compelled me to share with others before ""investing"" your hard earned dollars on this company.
At first contact, estimate and timing of doing the job seemed ideal. So after considering other bids, we decided to go with Murakami Roofing. They arrived for the job and then I receive a call that a worker, ""has fallen through our roof!""

We got the story of ""your previous contractor didn't do this"" ""employee's first day on the job."" Okay, that's all fine, but now what? We have a hole in our roof! That day they repaired the hole and said that someone would come back to repair the ceiling in our living room.
After waiting almost a week they sent someone to finish the ceiling. When calling about timing they said that he would be here at 8am Thursday. After waiting for hours, called the office with a ""Hang up!"" (Caller ID?) Called right back ""Voicemail"" (hmmmmm). Worker ""Chris"" arrived at noon. Did some work.., but had to have things dry, so would come back tomorrow. Next day arrived late again, "" busy with other jobs.""
Oh my....when the family arrived home. The ceiling job was not done, and plaster splatter was all over our living room carpet, furniture and window blinds. We were totally SHOCKED! Why wasn't a tarp placed on our carpet and furniture to protect it. This was not something that was simply vacuumed up. Our carpets and furniture are stained!
When calling to complain, just got an answering service. When ""Chris"" called back we demanded the manager or owner call us back, because his explanation was ""the nozzle was crooked.""
As of this posting, we are still waiting for a call back.
Yes, this company does a great job with roofing, but BEWARE when their employees fall through your roof. Follow up really leaves much to be said and their interior work Is a ""DON'T.""

I had my first encounter with Murakami roofing this week. I called on Tuesday afternoon about a roofing job they had done for my dad 6 years ago. Last week some shingles blew off. Shelly took down my information and said she would do some checking and get back to me. I called back Thursday afternoon, and she said they could not find any record of the job, so I messaged her the information asking if it was still under warranty. They inspected the roof on Friday and estimated $950 to fix and didn't admit any fault. Upon further inspection I discovered that it was their workmanship that had caused the shingles to blow off in the first place. The nails had broken through the shingles upon installation, therefore it wasn't holding it down per their manufacturers recommendation. After talking to Clint to see if he would do anything he lowered the estimate to $800 which was still not acceptable since it was their fault in the first place. His excuse was that their workmanship warranty was only for five years, however, if they had installed it correctly in the first place I would not have had any problems. I would not recommend Murakami's roofing due to their poor workmanship and lack of taking responsibility for their mistakes.
