I had Ricardo come out for an estimate. He was very courteous and professional when doing the measurement and explaining what work to be done. At the end he feels I'm leaning toward a specific type of roofing which they don't offer, he seems to not want my business. I never said i want anything specific. His job was to get me an estimate of what the roofing job will cost. He then says that maybe I should go with the other material and I explain that you are here to compete for business. It's on Mr. Roofing's website to get a few quotes before deciding on a company. He says in order to get the quote, he'll have to sit down at another time and give me the estimate. I explain that time you can email or give quote over the phone so I can have a range of what to expect and when i do decide to go with Mr. Roofing, we will have the actual details of what is being done. He said he'll email the proposal to me. I called back a week later and ask for the proposal and he said that he gives priority to people that sit down and meet with him. How difficult is it to email a proposal?? I feel that he doesn't want my business since day 1, I told him that I'll just remove Mr. Roofing from my list of estimates. I feel that a sit down session is a waste of time for some and if they insist on that tactic, it'll will be difficult to compete with other companies in this age of technology. I called them because they are Diamond Certified, I'm very disappointed in the way the conduct their business, you should respect what the consumer ask. Btw, no quotes was given. 2 stars for being courteous at the beginning.

These guys are awesome! Made an appt, they send me materials in the mail to review ahead of time, they confirmed the appt, and came ontime. Most professional experience we've had with any contractor.

We ended up not needing roofing repairs but they were nice enough to tell us their opinion and that we should not fix the roof that's not broken.

This company helped repair parts of my roof that were not even under their warrantee, at no charge. Apparently, my crummy contractor, unbeknownst to me, had called them off the job and ""finished"" the work themselves. Mr. Roofing, a family -owned business of true professionals, came to my rescue anyhow. They do a wonderful job, and don't try to fix things that are not broken. I'd use them again in a heartbeat. Prompt, professional, and you get a vairety of options for materials and repair strategies---starting with the least drastic.

Mr. Roofing staff - Christopher, Estimator & Roberto, Project Manager went out of their may to make sure I was fully satisfied. My only advice is that I found it useful to get a few quotes as I got some very good advice from other companies and requested Christopher revise the work to be done.

I am adding this high rated review to all the other ones already done!After getting estimates from several roofing companies,we decided on ""Mr. Roofing.""From that point on, we had confidence that we made a wise choice.Ricardo,with ""Mr. Roofing"" gave us a detailed contract of what to expect from them.They provided us with comprehensive and qualified service as they stated they would.Any concerns of ours was answered and taken care of in a professional and timely manner..Ricardo and Jose (on site project manager) were most pleasant to work with. Ricardo has good communication skills,mannerism and was confident that ""Mr. Roofer"" would replace the roofs (two buildings) to our satisfaction.With Jose on the job, who would expect less!
We must also praise Ricardo for taking ""ownership"" of a situation that arose due to a miscommunication. We were very pleased how well he handled the situation. Problem solved and all parties were satisfied.
We hope we won't need any new roofs replaced for a long, long time. However, we know who to call if we do------Guaranteed work by ""Mr. Roofing!!!!!

I purchased a house with a roof in need of repair. After getting 3 estimates to replace the entire roof, mr. roofing was the lowest by at least 8 grand!! And after meeting w Ricardo I knew he was the guy to go with. The materials and approach were the same or better than other estimates and ricardo was the only one to come in person an explain everything. the work was done in 5 days an there was no mess when they were done.

F.Y.I, when researching, do not wait until the rainy season if you decide to replace your entire roof. Companies get ""flooded"" w/roof leak repair calls. Waiting can cause further damage too. After several interviews, the best time is the summer. Less service calls due to weddings & grads in June; & people on vacation in July & August. I belong to a small 8-home condo association (HOA) of townhomes. In our 22 years of existence, we've maintained the existing roof to get the additional life & avoid dry rot & other damage. So we gave ourselves a good 3 months lead to interview & select a roofing company. This is April & we are set for July.

Our HOA interviewed 5 roof companies for bid proposals. Mainly top-rated roofers from Yelp!, Diamond Certified, & Angie's List. Just about all were very knowledgeable, professional, & offered different types of flat roof systems for us. And options like tear-off of old roof which can impact cost. It was difficult to decide but we selected Mr. Roofing. Their estimator rep, Ricardo, presented his company's background & our options thoroughly. He was very HONEST & upfront about his company, installation methods, & emphasized customer satisfaction; even RESPECTFUL when talking about other companies.

Ricardo squeezed us in earlier than scheduled, being in the area, at the time. He did Google Earth Map our roof ahead of time to get a preview. He came w/his PC tablet, digital camera, & tape measure. Although I provided roof plan dimensions ahead of time, he verified each unit's roof dimensions & took pics. Some estimators inspected most & not all roof areas. None took pics for condition, gutters, flues, vents, skylights, & dish antennas.

Ricardo seemed very knowledgeable & thorough about our roof condition, available options, & recommendations. He highly recommended us to interview as many companies as we wanted to ensure we were comfortable w/getting the right roofers & product for our project. He even gave us tips on what to ask. He has a pamphlet of 9 top questions to ask contractors when interviewing. He emphasized to also listen.

Their company has been in business for 22 years & has a good number of support crew for projects and concurrent repairs. They are licensed, insured, bonded, have Workers Comp, & provided a page list of references. They are on the list of Diamond Certified, Angie's List, Consumer Checkbook, Service Magic, & rated well w/the BBB. Any hired company should prove typical to outstanding professional credibility.

Ricardo explained & compared 4-5 roof options, types, & scenarios; including benefits & drawbacks, as well as comparative costs. And what's involved w/the installations, life warranties, maintenance requirements, if any, & how to tell the condition of a roof, rafters, even inside drywall damage when inspected. He also checked conditions of our gutters & for blockage at the drain spouts. He recommended for us to periodically check for drain spout blockage as a preventative maintenance measure. Ricardo even compared & provided input on roofing systems other companies provided. He informed us that, like most companies, do not hot weld or torch.

We selected a higher end roof system which even offered 3 types of thicknesses. It's PVC membrane-type roof w/material rolled out/laid out sections; & hot air heat guns used to fuse seams to form a seamless one-piece roof system. Virtually leak-proof too. Therefore, low maintenance, if any. And they have been certified to install this type roof for 8 years. Experience ensures proper, as well as, faster installation. They lay out a thick sub-layer over the existing asphalt roof to ensure smooth installation. This type is economical, 20-yr manufacturer warranty, a company workmanship warranty, energy efficient, high sustainability, easy maintenance, & fire retardant.

Ricardo mentioned Mr. Roofing also does non-profit roofing for low-income families in Redwood City from grants via San Mateo County. Meaning these roof projects are a philanthropic community support effort by Mr. Roofing. Our meeting lasted nearly 2 hours! And he was willing to meet our entire HOA to cover details of his proposal for Q&A.

In a quick visit to his office to sign the acceptance agreement, I was impressed w/the showcase of roofing awards, even in recent years. Also a wall of different certifications to install various type roof systems. Even all the folks in the office gave me a feel of a company, working as a team, evident w/posted mission statement.

This is a major expense for our small HOA & we do want to make sure the right decisions are made regarding the selection of the right roofer & roof type best suited for us; including the price. We ensured not to overlook anything. THE BOTTOM LINE: A PREMIUM ROOF, THE SECOND LOWEST OF THE 5 BID PROPOSALS, & THE COMFORT OF KNOWING WE MADE THE RIGHT SELECTION.

I will update my blog after the installation in July. We are truly positive about selecting Ricardo & Mr. Roofing.

Seriously! These guys are busy and hard to even get to come over for an estimate. We had a helluva time getting our minor repair done. Mr. Roofing was no exception, but here's what they did differently, earning them 5 full stars:

- Answered the phone every time I called during business hours
- Sent a customer info packet on how to choose a good contractor
- Ricardo told us up front that there were a lot of jobs ahead of us and it would be a while before he could even get us our estimate, let alone get the job done (vs another contractor who said they could do the job as soon as we agreed to the estimate - trouble was, they never sent the estimate!)
- When the day finally arrived (about 6 weeks after first calling), 2 guys came, did the work in less than 1/2 a day, cleaned up beautifully and were most professional throughout
- Thanks to Mr. Roofing, we've had no leaking onto our Christmas tree, no drips onto the dining table, no mysterious puddles to cause us to give the stink eye to the cats. Instead, we are snug as bugs in a dry house.
- Oh, and they sent a thank you tin of cookies afterwards!

I highly recommend Mr. Roofing to anyone looking for a professional and quality roofing service.
