I met Paul at my rental property to get a bid on a new comp roof. Paul was right on time and called prior to his arrival which was nice so I could leave work and not waste time waiting. Paul was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and made me feel very comfortable. Its not always like that when working with any contractor. We discussed the options and then he said he could take it from here. He did the measurements and I went back to work. I received the bid a few days later when he said I would. His price was higher than a local contractor who I chose to work with since price is everything on a rental property. Even though Pauls bid was higher he asked to evaluate the other bid to make sure I wasn't getting ripped off. It does make a difference when a roofing professional knows what to look for. He said for the most part everything looked in order but had a few suggestions when I spoke again with the other contractor. I have to say I have never had customer service like this from someone who did not win the bid. His goodwill will have me referring his company any chance I get. Thanks again Paul!

I was so impressed with how quickly Paul responded to my request for a bid to redo the gutters on my house. He noticed some dry rot which my other contractor had missed. He also mailed a sample of the different gutter colors which was super useful. I definitely recommend Moreno Roofing.

We received prompt communication from Paul Moreno and his lead for our job, Chad. They updated our main roof from tar & gravel to shingles and our flat garage to the new white PVC material while we were away on a trip. Everything went according to plan, we had some dry rot and termite damage that was properly taken care of, fascia board replaced. All the vents were replaced with new vents and they also installed new attic vents (couple other quotes from other roofers did not include this!) to help keep the attic cool and dry. Their gutter guy ended up running some extra gutter across our garage that wasn't necessary but Paul did not charge us for it. They did have a weird spot they had to come back to and stucco up, but again, at no extra charge. The new roof and gutters look great, really makes the house look updated. The flashing on the chimney also looked stellar.

Overall, we could barely tell anyone had been there when we got back from our trip except for a few tiny scraps of gutter. They cleaned up their mess, the way it should be from any contractor. I highly recommend you go with Moreno if you want your roof done right.

I reached out to Moreno Roofing along with 4 other roofing companies in the middle of the Memorial long weekend because we noticed a small water stain where the wall meets the ceiling in our master bedroom. Given it's a holiday weekend, I didnt expect to have any feedback from requested quote until Tuesday and yet Paul reply the same day and let us know that they'd do their best to fit us into their schedule and they'll be in touch on Tuesday. And this really sets the tone of our interactions: Paul was very articulate, completely easy to communicate with and also have a very approachable friendly way about him that makes a pleasure to discuss concerns back and forth with him.

When Paul came over for an estimate, he called and texted to make sure an earlier arrival time would be okay with us. He also took many pictures which he included in his assessment and quote evaluation. My parents who received Paul for the estimate that day felt really comfortable with how thorough Paul was (he even climbed into our dusty attic in a super hot day). The result of the evaluation is that we have 4 possible sources causing water leaks.

What set Paul apart was the day after, he followed up with another email and said he has given it more though and perhaps we should hold off repairing all 4 possible sources and wait until we could catch the problem in action so save money and efforts as well. Paul's extra consideration to save us money is an example of his great character in our book, and we definitely would be delighted to connect with Paul again for roofing and possible Solar needs in the future.

We found Moreno Roofing after chasing recommendations for other roofers made by friends or co-workers . Sadly, not one of those recommended roofers acted like they wanted our business. Besides replacing an old, shake roof, our project also included gutters, a couple of skylights and solar panels. We were beginning to re-think the scope of it because of the poor response we received to the calls we had made. Then we found Moreno Roofing & Solar through an internet search for local roofers, saw they offered many other services besides just roofing and read some great things about them, so we decided to give them a call. Right from the start, communication with Paul and Lucia, in the office, was clear and concise.
Paul came out to take measurements and to talk with us about the project. Then we got back together shortly after that to discuss his proposal.

We were immediately impressed with Paul's professionalism, not only in the way he interacted with me and my husband, but also in the clarity and thoroughness of his proposal. He took a lot of time to explain everything to us and answer our questions. All of the details were spelled out clearly, including pricing of various options. We found the pricing to be very competitive, and now, in hindsight, because of our stellar experience, I feel like we got a great deal!!

Once the project got started, we found Paul's crew to be incredibly professional and immensely talented. Chad, the project manager, came out to meet with us before any work got started and really took the time to familiarize himself with our project. Jeff, solar coordinator, always took the time to let us know what's going on, and Mickey, solar installation, was really great to work with and kept us up to date on progress. Both Mickey and Jeff are super knowledgeable about solar systems and were happy to share information and answer all of our questions. The roofing crew, led by Juan, was fast, efficient and super polite. They cleaned up every day and showed complete respect for our home and property.

The workmanship on this project is impeccable and my home is transformed! The new roof looks awesome and I love the skylights in my living room. (We're still waiting for PGE to make their connection, so I'll have to update this post once we are on line with the solar system.)

When I decided to replace the roof of my recently purchased house, I did not know which roofing company to go with. After searching on Yelp for various local roofers and reviewing other customers' experiences, I decided to go with Moreno Roofing and Solar since many of their past clients were highly satisfied with the work and service provided.

Paul Moreno, owner of Moreno Roofing, personally came out to assess my roof and provided me options. Paul was professional as well as very helpful and patient with me on my final decision. After month of contemplating what to do, I decided to get the entire roof redone (both sloped and flat roof sections), replace/add rain gutters, and install solar panels.

Once my decision was made, Moreno Roofing was quick to get things moving along even with a couple minor holdups which not their faults i.e. solar panel shipping and inspection. Foreman Juan and his crew were swift in replacing the roof while being very meticulous and clean with the work.

From there, Mickey and Jeff took on the solar project. Both oversaw the project throughout the process from installation to final inspection. There were times I could not be present during this process because of my very busy work schedule; but both Mickey and Jeff constantly kept me updated with the process which made it easier to trust and rely on them both.

The completed roofing/solar project came out fabulous! Throughout the project, everyone (Lucia and Jessica at the office, Mickey and Jeff with the solar as well as Mr. Moreno) at Moreno Roofing and Solar had kept me informed and updated with the project. Being a small business owner myself, I know the importance of providing quality service and customer relationships. Moreno Roofing and Solar provided quality workmanship, great client service/communication and honesty, important factors that all customers look for. With that said, I highly recommend Moreno Roofing and Solar for any roofing/solar needs.

Now that the rainy season is pretty much over, I wanted to give an update on how my new roof is working out...I still give them 5 stars. My roof has held up wonderfully through the rain. I had asked Paul to make a couple adjustments to the copper gutters which were installed and he was very responsive and had his guys out quickly. I am so glad I found a roofing company which takes their workmanship to another level, is honest, and very well priced. I still get many compliments on my roof and have people taking pictures as they walk by! I will definitely call them when I am ready to do my garage!

I selected Moreno Roofing based initially on my interaction with owner Paul Moreno. Paul was the first roofing contractor to come out and provide an estimate for our property. While at my home Paul really took his time inspecting the condition of the existing roof and explaining the existing condition and potential problem areas. Paul also took the time to explain different aspects of the entire roofing system which are often overlooked and not well understood by new homeowners, including proper ventilation and insulation of the attic space. Paul also took his time to explain our options regarding different shingle thicknesses and made recommendations about what would be most appropriate for our roof and budget constraints. After initially meeting with Paul I proceeded to get 4 additional estimates. I finally decided upon Moreno Roofing for several reason, first being my initial interaction with Paul and the time he spent with me explaining the ins and outs of roofing. Second, I appreciated the fact that Moreno Roofing is both a locally-owned and family-run business. I believe Paul's father started this company in the 1970's. Having worked for a family business myself, I know that family-owned companies are usually run quite well because there is a certain level of pride of ownership in the family business. I also liked the fact that Moreno Roofing has been serving the Monterey Bay area for over 40 years. Businesses do not last 40 years if run improperly.

Once I signed the contract and gave Moreno Roofing the initial deposit, Paul got us into the schedule right away. Sooner than we were expecting, in fact. The crew and crew foreman, Juan, were some of the hardest working people that I ever seen. They worked hard, quickly, and were clean and respectful of our property. Our roof was somewhat complicated, with several different roof sections and two different roof angles requiring different materials (shingles and heat welded membrane) - one area is a typical gabled roof while an attached accessory unit has a low-slope, flat roof design. We also requested that our eaves be extended, that all rot be replaced (there was a lot), and that all siding (it was rotted too) be replaced as well. Moreno Roofing handled our roofing job expertly. It really looks beautiful. Moreno's crew did everything we asked, including painting all the newly applied exterior facing wood surfaces including fascia boards, siding, and behind the gutters. I honestly don't know if that is typically done by roofers or not but Moreno roofing took care of it.

I have often heard and seen horror stories of roofing companies leaving trampled gardens and plants, debris, and nails strewn about the property. We had no trampled plants and very little debris and nails left after Moreno Roofing finished their work. There was some debris and some nails left, but I am only finding them as I work closely in the yard weeding etc., these pieces are so far and few between it would be hard to expect the crew to spend their valuable time on cleaning up at this level. I can honestly say the property was left much cleaner than either my wife or I expected.

Once our roof was completed, we received an invoice via email and we were able to pay it directly through the internet, which I found easy and convenient. Paul has also been very conscientious and courteous in asking to walk around and inspect the property both with me and by himself. Paul has since had workers come over to take care of things that he noticed during his post-installation inspections that were not up to his expectation. I really appreciate this aspect of Moreno Roofing's business operations. Paul really cares that his customers are satisfied with the quality of the work and he really makes an effort to make his customers feel both valued and satisfied with the roof that they have purchased. Moreno Roofing provided us with excellent workmanship and customer service.

Paul is one of those rare, old school business owners that goes out of his way to make sure his customers are satisfied with the work provided by Moreno Roofing. I highly recommend using Moreno Roofing.
