I was referred to Monterey Bay Roofing & Michael by one of my neighbors. We were experiencing a roof leak so I called him and I was so glad when he answered! He said he could be to our house the same day at 11:00 and he arrived on time and fixed our leak on the spot!! We were very pleased. He's done work for two of my fellow neighbors and they were both pleased as well. I would highly recommend Monterey Bay Roofing for several reasons but mainly if you want honest & fair workmanship.

I hired Mike, a self-professed devoted Christian, to replace the roofs on my house and garage in April 2023. The work looks great from what I can see and there is no leaking into the house anymore. On April 13, 2024 I received a letter for the Salinas permit office telling me the roof has never had the three required inspections. I had a long discussion about the permit and inspections with Mike. He obviously lied to me. Now I have to get a ladder that is three rungs above the roof so I can get an inspection. Beware of false Christians using their tales to get you to trust them and then they turn out to be lying cheaters. I wonder if the 10 yr guarantee that is in the contact with Mike is valid?

Mike didn't show up for an appointment we made 2 days prior. I stopped looking for roofers because he said he would come. I called him an hour after he didn't show up and he didn't answer. We even took off work to be at home. I do not recommend and wish we had listened to previous reviews.

Mr. Lambert replaced my roof in Sept 2012; I thought I had found a gem. Honest and reliable. Ten and a half years later, I found out that the installation was faulty, and I have a failing roof. With the recent storms, several of the shingles blew off. I called Mr. Lambert twice to have the roof inspected and repaired, and twice he no-showed without a callback, despite having my address via text and voicemail.

I found another roofer who came within a few hours and fixed the storm damage. But now I have a failing asphalt roof, and the irony is that Mr. Lambert complained that my original roof was not installed correctly. The moral of the story--all that glitters is not gold.

Mike Lambert provided estimate in a timely manner when called the next day. in stormy conditions, roof repair was completed. Very responsive on every call during the three day storm.

We hired Michael (Monterey Bay Roofing, Inc.) via Angie / Home Advisor. He showed up late for the scheduled appointment. He checked the area of our roof which needed to be fixed and identified the problem. He indicated he would be able to do the work and gave us a quote. We agreed he would begin work the next day and he gave us a time he'd be in to begin work. The next day, he did not show up as agreed and I sent him a text message. He replied, ""what is your address?"" I provided my address again (strange since he had been to our home the day before) and he indicated he was tied up on another job and be at our home later on the day. Long story short, it took him approximately 2 weeks to complete the work, constantly late. On the last day which he was supposed to finish the work, he was again late and I indicated I needed to run some errands and I'd meet him at my home to pay for the work. He came to the house while I was out and left a bill without any supporting receipts for the materials and left. I had someone climb on the roof to take a look at the work (a video was taken) and he did such a botched job, that I had to call another contractor to come and give me an estimate in order to remediate the work Michael had done. He did not replace rooted wood, left gaps between window trims, did not complete painting and caulking, etc, etc. I will not recommend this contractor.

Mike is the best if you want a repair done as promised at a fair price this is the company to call. If you want to talk to someone every day about the same job find someone else. Trust them to do what they say and get the job done right the first time

We had our roof done by Michael over 10 years ago. Super professional, he and his crew did a great job and the roof has help up very well. Since then, we've had a couple of skylights put in, and the couple of times that we've had challenges with them, he's right there to help us. Very much appreciate it, highly recommend him.
