Watched Peninsula Roofing crew meticulously install a roof two buildings from mine...very safe, very thorough. Then asked Ivan for a quote along with three other highly rated roofing companies @ the SF area. Peninsula estimate was a middle number. A week later his crew was at my address, punctually at eight, beginning work.

Crew head, Ivan oversaw each phase of demo, removal and installation, informing me of any changes in the operation. The respect workers and Ivan showed each other was obvious to me and I believe aided in the quick and efficient replacement of the roof.

I waited til two rainy days have passed...'rock solid', no leaks! Peninsula Roofing gets my highest rating!

Finding a highly rated roofing contractor who was competitively priced, straight forward, trustworthy, accommodating to my needs, flexible enough to handle additional repairs on the fly, and most importantly, available to do the work when I needed it most, right before the rainy season during an El Nino year, was like finding a needle in a haystack. Well I was lucky enough to find that needle in Ivan, who took care of all of my roofing needs and then some. He and his crew tore out my leaky 30+ year old tar and gravel flat roof and replaced it with a brand new, energy-efficient, Flintastic GTA roof without a hitch. From the time that I called his company and left a message, where Ivan promptly returned my call and assessed my roof on that very same day, until the final touches of his professionally installed roof took less than 3 1/2 weeks. Everything that was discussed as well as a few last minute additions, whether written in his proposal or verbally agreed upon, was delivered as promised. The highlight of my job was my unusual request to see if Ivan could relocate an interior TV cable wire which ran in between the ceiling and the roof. He took care of my request by cutting and removing a few wood planks in various spots right after the tar and gravel was removed. This made it easy for him to access the wire and run it where I wanted it moved to. After that was done, he promptly replaced the planks so that he and his crew could continue working right where they left off. This saved me the time and cost that cutting holes, patching, and repainting the ceiling from the interior would have required as well as the cleanup of the mess that it would have caused. He also repaired various other areas of my house that were prone to water damage upon my request. So aside from the protection from the elements that I will have for years to come, I also enjoy the benefit that an energy efficient roof provides by having a cooler and more comfortable home during the sunny warmer weather that we've also been having lately. Ivan did come to my house in the Sunset and got on my roof for an
inspection and quote. The price was right and he and his team showed up Monday morning, as promised to replace my roof. They worked solid through Wednesday, early afternoon and finished as promised.
Some issues came up with rotted boards, damaged drains and rusted metal on the skylights. They were replaced and the rust on the skylights was scraped, rust primed and painted. Ivan did honor the quoted price, even though there was additional work done. They did clean up after finishing up. There is a 10 year warranty on the roof work. I would recommend Peninsula Roofing.

Ivan and his crew did a great job repairing and reroofing a decorative roof on an old Victorian home. Their bid was not only the lowest, but they were able to do the work promptly and professionally.. I've already gotten several compliments on the work and highly recommend them,

Had to have my 92 year old Mothers flat roof repaired, it is probably 13 years old and when it last rained I noticed a few small drips on the ceiling. I did not want to wait for it to start raining and have water pouring in the home during the winter. My Mom will probably only be in the home for a couple more years and having the roof completely replaced did not make since for just a couple small drips. I just wanted to have the gravel swept away and a new layer of hot tar put on as I have done that in the past when I was in construction.

I had a couple other companies come out, hard now to find people who do flat roofs and they wanted to replace the entire tar and gravel roof, they said they could not add more hot mop tar on the roofs as it would be too heavy. Neither company has even got me a estimate. I got a verbal estimate of $3,700.00 for 400 sq, feet from one company but no written estimates.

Gustavo pointed out the tar and gravel is old school technology and that the gravel is really heavy and is not really needed. As for the weight the gravel is probably 1000 lbs and you can just remove all the gravel and roof on new roof coating that has a 5 year warranty. 7 - 5 gallon can of roof coating were needed and the total weight was 350 lbs and he says should last 5 to 8 years but in 5 years or so with the gravel off in 5 years from now we can just roll on a new coat for far less money because the gravel will not need to be removed.

Gustavo did the job between other jobs for $1450.00 including a skylight saddle repair and I have not even gotten estimates from the other companies yet. Highly recommend Gustavo.

As for the negative reviews I do not believe them. I was a claims adjuster with Allstate Insurance in the 1990's and Peninsula Roofing was on their referral list and Gustavo did not even ask me for a check until the work was done, he did not even want a deposit, he is no scam artist, those must be competitors or something.

I received excellent service from Gustavo and everyone at Peninsula Roofing. They came out to my home to inspect the roof and gave me different options on how to proceed. I was very happy that they were able to work with my budget and took the time to educate me on the roof and the process to fix it. They came out as scheduled and were done in a timely manner. They gave me a summary and run down of everything that was completed and what I should expect from my new roof. They even cleaned up all the debris from around the house. Very impressed and satisfied. I would highly recommend them!

Had a great experience with Ivan and Co. They showed up on time each time, had practical advice and did a great job. I have an older roof and they also made helpful suggestions about ways to extend the life of the roof. I will definitely ask them for help in the future!

I should have trusted the negative reviews. This company fails to show up for an appointment, and would not even care to answer my phone to tell me they have no intent to show up and just left me waiting. And I only made the appointment just 1 day ago. 0 star on professionalism and trustworthiness.
