Just finished reroofing with Modern Roofing. Very satisfying experience. Alan is our project manager. When doing the free estimation, he went into our attic and climbed on the roof to check the roof conditions. He then sat down with me to explain the roofing process and materials with great details. After his explanation, I feel very clear about the roofing work to be done. He has also offered competitive pricing and different payment options. He is able to address all our concerns properly. The reroofing process is fast and neat, and passes the city inspection smoothly. Overall, I highly recommend Modern Roofing and Alan for your roofing work.

Don't bother reaching out to them. They were quick to set up a time for a project manager to come out to look at our project. The project manager was nice and attentive, taking photos and providing recommendations for the work to be done. Fast forward a month later and I still haven't received a quote after following up several times with their office. Last week I followed up one last time with an Eden from their team, who promised I'd have a quote that afternoon. Guess what? It never came and my follow up was unanswered. It's honestly like they don't want the business. Would give 0 stars if I could.

I contacted a few roofers. Andrew was the only one who actually looked into the attic to determine if there were any other leaks than the issue I knew of. He was very detailed in showing me pictures of my roof and what is needed to be done. He was very responsive to all my questions. Every text or call, he was able to answer and help me out with all my concerns. He went above and beyond. I definitely will recommend Modern Roofers.

I don't usually don't write reviews but I had to for this one.I don't trust a lot of contractors but the reason why I picked them is because they did my mothers roof. They were extremely professional & did not bullshit me. They cleaned up everyday & completed the whole thing in about 3 days!!!!! Plus all legit with permits approved by the city. Contact Nick & he is the most professional guy I've ever met in my life & he seemed like he was the CEO of the company how professional & knowledgeable he was.

If you want to take a chance and go with a stranger that's on you, go with these guys.

I enjoyed working with Modern Roofing. Kris was great and worked well at communicating and on pricing that worked for us. Compromises had to be made but I appreciated that Kris & his partner Sean worked to accommodate us. The roof looks great and they did a quality job. I would recommend getting lead times on the tile as supplies are tight. So don't anticipate being able to get a roof the week you get the estimate.... unless you are flexible. We were and Kris and his crew were able to get started faster than other companies that we interviewed. They left the job site clean and even took extra steps to touch up paint on the exterior that had gotten dinged during the tile removal. Very much appreciate those thoughtful touches. I never felt like I was bothering them with questions or concerns and they always took my calls even on the weekends or late at night which I also appreciated. Looking forward to referring them to friends and family.

Don't hire these guys.

First, I have evidence that their sales guy intentionally overcharged me. My roof is only 700 sq feet, but we found out he billed it at 1100 sq feet. He hid this from us and refused to give us a fully filled-out invoice or receipt for the work (""I'll get that to you later,"" ""I'll get that to you next time"" etc etc), but we finally got the office to email us a copy when we were trying to get a cool roof rebate from the city. Our rebate was denied because they city said we were claiming a larger roof sq footage than what's possible. Modern Roofing has ignored my calls and emails about this, so I'm probably going to have to take it up with the BBB.

Second, their work is incredibly sloppy. Our flat roof has tile edging, and they put it back on so poorly that every contractor who has come to our house since has noted concerns about it. They've left huge gaps between the tiles - so big that birds are now nesting in them, and we're going to have to bring animal control out to fix that. They also damaged a lot of the stucco/walls of the house and didn't do anything to fix the damage or adequately cover it. They didn't overhang the tiles properly and these gaps in the stucco and even bits of flashing paper are showing through, which is almost certainly going to result in water coming through our walls. We've been trying for months to get Modern Roofing to come back out and fix this sloppy work. First guy who came told us he'd have his manager call us to schedule repairs; we never heard back, and after weeks of chasing, we found out he actually told his manager that everything was fine. So they sent out a second team, who sloppily slapped some stucco over a couple of the worst gaps in the tiles and left. Didn't even look at one entire side of the house.

Like others have mentioned, their communication sucks and their workers leave a ton of mess behind. During our re-roofing the crew was always late, sometimes by as much as 4 hours, and we'd have to make multiple calls to find out where they were and what was going on. More than once, the inspector showed up to find no roofers there and no ladder left for them to get onto the roof, and the inspector threatened to fine us if the roofers weren't there the next time he came back.

They threw tons of debris into our backyard and didn't even attempt to clean it up.

We have dogs, so we told the roofing crew to let him know first if they needed to get back there so he could bring the dogs inside. They didn't listen, and slammed on one of our gates so hard to force it open that it had to be repaired and now hangs crooked. We showed Louie, our sales guy/contractor the damage, and he literally just walked away and ignored us. Twice during their work they opened the backyard gates without letting us know first and our dogs got out into the neighborhood. Luckily our neighbors helped us find them both times and my husband put locks on the gates to keep the crew from causing any more damage.

Take your money literally anywhere else. Modern Roofing is sloppy and unethical.

My project manager nick was on site daily and always gave me a courtesy call to let me know of any updates and even gave me gifts. I highly recommend modern roofing because they will really take care of you.

I thought Kris the project manager was very personable. I felt very comfortable with him. He was like my son. He was very patient. Not pushy at all and always worked in my best interest. I am very pleased with the work they did. Every time I drive off, I look at my roof and I cannot help but smile. I think I have the best looking roof in my block. I appreciate the workers also for keeping the surroundings of my house clean at the end of the day. I highly recommend this company. Thank you, Kris.
