We had an issue with a rotting fascia board. We needed it not only to be replaced, we needed to determine why it got dry rot. Michael to the rescue! We contacted him after getting very positive reviews from neighbors. He responded timely, was able to come by and showed up on time. He quoted a very reasonable price and was able to remove the board and inspect the area. He said he'd return the next AM at 7:00 and again was right there. He discovered the flashing above that fascia board was originally cut just a few inches too short. He replaced it and put a new painted fascia board back up. Additionally, he noticed moss in a couple of areas of the roof and used a broom to sweep it off. He advised us to go get vinegar from a restaurant supply store and get it sprayed it on those areas undiluted. He is an excellent communicator. Highly recommend. Does not oversell!

Great experience with Mike. We needed a new roof on our detached garage (20' x 16' roof) in Tahoe Park after it took repeated beatings during the winter 2023 storms. The garage had that cheap, crappy roll roofing paper that peeled off and blew away in each storm, littering our yard and exposing the guts of the garage. Water started seeping into the plywood, so we wanted to get it fixed ASAP.

We called 8 or 9 roofing places and they were booked out for weeks or months. Then we found Mike through a NextDoor recommendation. We called him on a Thursday, he came by on a Saturday for an estimate, and did the job on a Monday (including removing old remaining roof and disposal). He suggested we upgrade to a shingled roof, which made sense to us because roll roofing sucks.

Mike priced everything out-the-door, i.e. no unncessary back-and-forth about this shingle or that option. Just wanted a simple 1 price to get it all done, and he did. Ended up writing a check for $1400 (he offered $100 cash discount but I didn't have that cheddar sitting around). Roof looks great, and matched the shingle color on our house.

I believe he operates solo and subcontracts hired hands to assist him depending on his job's size. No issues there.

Very happy with his work, and communication. Seemed like a friendly, no-BS local contractor who had lots of knowledge and experience, especially about the best roofing options for Sacramento weather. Whenever we have another roofing job, he'll be the first guy we call.

Came recommended by neighbor and I recommend highly. Was here promptly and kept us informed of project status. We added a few projects at end and he took them on gracefully and promptly at reasonable price! Also... the County inspector commented how well the job was done.

Mr Murphy did an awesome job replacing our roof. He explained the process to us each step of the way. He removed the old roofing material and repaired several areas of dry rot. His work was completed very quickly.

I saw M&M Roofing yard sign while driving in my neighborhood. I called and talked to Mike Murphy (owner) about replacing the roof on my garage. He drove by my house and gave me an estimate promptly, which I accepted. Then, I could not reach him for days. He finally responded and said he could meet me in two hours. I had to rearrange my schedule real quick in order not to miss him. Well, I ended up waiting for over an hour and he never showed up or answer his phone. He finally replied to my messages saying he couldn't do the job and that I should find another roofer.
