We trusted the wrong company.
We signed a contract with Mitchell Roofing, but they abandoned our project and failed to contact us for nearly five months. No schedule was ever confirmed, no materials were delivered, and no work was performed.

Now, after months of silence, they are demanding over $12,000 and threatening litigation -- despite doing nothing to fulfill their contractual obligations.

Since reviewing the project more closely, we've also discovered issues in other documents that raise concerns about their practices and professionalism. Unfortunately, it seems we're not alone -- their pattern of poor communication and lack of accountability is reflected in other customer reviews as well.

Excellent work, competitive pricing. Punctual and very hardworking team. I had a couple of additional items that I thought of while the project was underway. Brief conversation and slight price adjustment and 100% satisfied with the outcome.

Mitchell Roofing submitted a proposal promptly. It was close to the lowest cost of three. The proposal was the most complete. I was given choice of several attractive shingles, I was offered view of an installation with the selected shingle on a roof near my home.

The supplies were delivered to my roof within two weeks. Within four days I was asked if installation could begin. After agreement it took two days start to finish. No post-installation cleanup was necessary the surroundings were immaculate.

At settlement credit was applied for work not needed. The total cost was less than was proposed and accepted.

The appearance of the house is substantially improved.

If I could confer more than 5 stars I would.

I gave them a 2star because they did what I paid them for. It's what they didn't do that cost me an extra $1700. The roof itself cost $20,000. We were told by Omar that for another $2000 we could get hurricane straps and our insurance would lower enough to cover that cost within two years. When the job was done and the paperwork was being signed he also said don't worry about filing and he would take care of that. My wife thought the most of Omar and said that would be great. A few months later we found out he didn't follow through and not did our insurance not go down , it raised another $200. When we called to find out why we were basically told that it's not his job. My wife was basically called a liar and the matter was closed. I was there for the signing and I know she didn't lie. I would advise if you need a roof don't call them unless you are prepared to read the VERY fine print. The only other gripe is my wife found two roofing nails with her car and they left crumpled gutters in my back yard.

I had Mitchell Roofing replace my flat roof. They were responsive, efficient, and professional. The contrasting capstone and trim they suggested made it look better than ever.

Mitchell Roofing replaced my roof, and I am completely satisfied with the job they did. The roof is composition shingle on a one-story bungalow, in an historic district of Saint Petersburg. The replacement stripped the previous roof, made repairs to the underlying structure, and installed a new one. It passed inspections by the city and also by an independent inspector for wind certification. The work was performed with some mess, but less than I expected. I was not disrupted in my daily life. They were one of several contractors who bid, were close to the lowest cost, and I chose them because the sales rep was clear about schedule and process. There was an open cost item in the contract -- replacement of damaged sheathing not visible until the old roof was stripped. The additional cost was reasonable.I recommend them without reservation.
