We had only a small job, an area of dry-rot in the fascia and soffit caused by a leak further up. The next day after calling they had made a thorough inspection of the whole (30-year old tile) roof and were very experienced, knowledgeable about the history of the neighborhood construction and open to my questions. Cost was reasonable, and they fitted in a day at short notice, good job, would use again, and would recommend.

Just want to make sure that MVR, Inc know how grateful I am with their professional, efficient and friendly work they did on my home.
I will make sure I tell my friends and family about you when they need roof work.

Thank you very much for a great job!

I used Mission Valley Roofing for a complete new roof 3/18/2011. They tore off the old one completely and did some framing work that needed to be done.

They did lots of work and it struck me as a fair price. The job was wonderful. They were efficient and they did what they said they were going to do when they said they were going to do it. They kept me in the loop on everything. I didn't have anything to compare regarding their price.

We had some service work done 3/2013 and Mission Valley Roofing came right out looked at the problem and fixed it so we could get the house re-stucco. Thanks Mission Valley Roofing for getting it done and a GREAT Job.

I just had a bunch of roofing repairs done this week on my 25 year old roof. Working with the whole group, from the owner to the superviser, to the men who actually spent 2 days at my house was a great experience. They were professional, accomodating, friendly, efficient and skilled. I have no complaints at all! Since I didn't get up on the roof myself, they took lots of photos to show me their work. In addition to fixing the leak, replacing tiles and rotted wood, etc, they also replaced (and painted) other wood that had termite damage and some dry rot. They did an excellent job with that. Looks perfect! Thank You Mission Valley Roofing. I'm so glad my neighbor referred me.

Update: Before getting into my detailed and original review below, here is an updated March 1, 2017 message from Park Row regarding ROOF LEAKS, which is a testament to the poor workmanship of Mission Valley Roofing rather than some unproven, phantom plumbing issues (""alternative facts"") that never existed in the first place that were claimed by this company:

""PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE:
Dear Park Row Residents: Due to our unusually wet winter, Park Row has experienced several roof leaks. With the large amount of rain, the roofing companies are overwhelmed with work orders, but our roofers are scheduled to start permanent repairs on March 6th. In the meantime, temporary measures have been implemented to hopefully prevent any further damage to units. To those affected, we appreciate your patience and understanding and are working as quickly as possible to get your roof leaks fixed.""

Original review from several years ago:

As Park Row HOA Board Member Jason Day correctly and truthfully stated below, Mission Valley Roofing caused nearly $10K (not $5K) in damages to my condo when their employees were checking for a roof leak and placed a running garden hose down a vent pipe on my roof that leads directly down to my master bathroom, flooding my residence in 2010. They failed to accept any responsibility for their actions. They erroneously claimed a phantom history of repeated plumbing problems (really?, that's news to me and I lived in my condo), not their 'unique' decision of placing a running garden hose in my condo, was the reason for the flood. My insurance company paid my claim in its entirety and found absolutely NO evidence to support a plumbing issue as the cause of the flood.

Furthermore, Mission Valley Roofing was not hired for their 'expertise' in plumbing related matters and I challenge Ron to edit his reply and provide a plumbing license contractors number, which I highly doubt exists.

Mission Valley Roofing employees also had a history of routinely showing up at my residence unannounced and with no prior appointment in place--often when I was out of town on business trips--and would later claim I refused them access to my residence to service my unit. Who the hell shows up unannounced and without an appointment hoping I would be home, except Mission Valley Roofing??? That, alone, should tell you a great deal about this company. Do you show up to your doctor or dentist without an appointment in place???

My HOA terminated their services shortly after the flood THEY caused at my unit as well as due to other issues they had with this company elsewhere within the complex on other, unrelated work. No surprise here.

MORE THAN 7 (S-E-V-E-N) YEARS since this mishap there have been NO plumbing leaks, let alone floods, within my residence of any kind.

Based on my experience above, would you trust your home to these guys?... I didn't think so. I would give this outfit NO stars, instead of 1, if Yelp would allow me to do so but wish Mission Valley Roofing the best along with their 'unique' solutions to roofing problems...so there you have it--you can take my word, an HOA Board Member's word (i.e. witness), and Allstate's word OR you can put your faith in Ron and a company that did everything in its power to deflect blame (evidently, a common tactic used by this outfit--see Amber's review) for their own actions, distort the truth (i.e. ""alternative facts""), and avoided taking any responsibility or financial liability for these actions....as for my credentials, I am approaching 32 years in sales management with one of the leading bellwether technology firms in the world--I do not think I would have lasted this long with the same company, in the era of corporate downsizing, if I were an irrational, stubborn individual which Ron and MVR would like for you to believe.

The workmen appeared fairly responsive, front office was a pain in the A** to deal with, otherwise I would have given them four stars. I will not know if the roof is fixed properly until it rains. However, it looks like they did a good job.

Mission Valley Roofing did a great job on my classic 1947 home in La Mesa. The installers were there every day at 7am and I'm thouroghly impressed with my Owens Corning 40 year roof. I had a little bit of rotten wood at the eaves and they did a great job of matching the rafters (which are round) and making sure that they got the proper wood for replacement in my older home. They took about a day longer than they originally estimated, but I suspect it was because of the wood repairs. They even cleaned up my sidewalks and driveway cleaner than they were when they started.

I'm surprised by the other reviews. I had some repairs done to my roof about 3 years ago by MVR. They fixed the two leaks caused by poor installation by another roofing company. They did leave a couple nails in my driveway though.

I too am on the board of my HOA, and 5 years after getting the roof, there response time and warranty has not been good.

First, I personally have had 4 leaks in the same spot. Which means, every time that it has rained since I bought my condo, I have had to deal with that leak. Finally, after the third time they assured me it was the last, so I got the internal damage fixed. Now it is raining again and I have the same leak.

Additionally, they blame the leaks on leaves collecting and need of maintenance. I have called 7+ times to get the estimate, and left messages with the receptionist every time. She claims a sales rep will call me back, but he hasn't, and it has been over a year I have been trying to get this estimate.

Too bad we invested so much in the roof that we are stuck with them.

Feel free to contact me if you have questions.

I'm on the board of Park Row a condo association with with 223 units. We spent approximately a million dollars having mission valley reroof our buildings. Five years later lets just say I'm not impressed with their follow up warranty care.

I'm not going to get into it here, but if yo want to talk about it contact me.

Jason

Ok after reading Ron W's comment I just have one thing to add. Why didn't they come to the board and say here are the issues that we are having with you guys and this is what you can do to correct it. And this is what its going to cost to correct it, and this is why it isn't covered under warranty.

The leaks that we experienced are on the flat roof portion of our roofs, (the part they did) not the sloping tile portion. Come on we know the difference between tile sloped portion and the flat portion that Mission Valley did.

Bottom line we spent $1,000,000 dollars with Mission Valley and they couldn't even bother to come talk to the board? Really? Its true! Sad but true.

Oh and the investigation that Ron is talking about regarding Roy Steins unit, well it consisted of putting a garden hose down one of Roy's bathroom vents and turning on the water to see if it would leak? (I can't make this stuff up) Well it flooded out Roy and caused 5K of damage that Roy had to go to his insurance to collect from.

I really don't have an ax to grind with Mission Valley their work itself seemed pretty good, it just that they wouldn't fix anything under warranty. I'm just a board member not a construction expert but come on, if a roof is leaking and its something that just got reroofed shouldn't it be covered by the warranty?

Anyhow your mileage may vary, and you might indeed experience Mission Valley eager and willing to come patch your roof after they have your money in pocket. I'm just saying that wasn't our experience at Park Row.
