Working with Mike's was an excellent experience. I would use them again and would recommend without hesitation. Mike's replaced my roof on my house and ADU (apx. 2,500 square feet) with a Corning product. I worked with Tony, and he and his team were professional, efficient, courteous, on schedule, and on budget. Tony responded quickly to my feedback, and his team did an excellent job in tearing off three layers of roof, repairing dry root and sagging eaves, adding insulation, and re-roofing and replacing skylights. They came in on bid and on time and were super careful in touching up and cleaning up. Excellent service overall.

Long overdue review. I hired them back in February 2020 to install 2 Velux sun tunnels in my roof in order to bring more light into my front entryway. I don't get much natural light in that area of the house and am always trying to find ways to bring in more light. I had done some research on sun tunnels, loved the concept, and decided I preferred them over a skylight for various reasons. Made an appointment with Rob who was a pleasure to work with, so professional, answered all of my questions, and put me at ease re making what I consider to be a fairly big decision. It took quite a bit of time to decide the locations where we would install the tunnels due to the shape of my roof, obstructions in the attic, trying to figure out the best way to optimize the sunlight. Fast forward and I'm thrilled with our new sun tunnels. Installation was a breeze - took a day and a half, the 2 guys that came (I forget their names) did a fantastic job. Thankfully they made sure to cover every surface so I wouldn't have to deal with the dust. My entryway feels like a whole new space- bright and inviting, not the dungeon it felt like before. I love that the sun tunnels don't bring added heat into the house in the summer, just a warm light to brighten my space. My husband loves the solar light that turns on in the evenings so he can safely walk down the stairs in the middle of the night without having to turn on hall light.

Overall Mikes Roofing did a wonderful job from beginning to end and I'd give them more stars if I could!

Mike's Roofing did a complete tear off and re-roof of our home in Eagle Rock. Everything went great (and it was even during Covid). Communication with Tony was reliable as we ramped up to the project -- there was quite a bit of back-and-forth due to the virus and we have solar panels (our solar company disappeared during the pandemic). The crew was courteous, quiet, and pleasant. The job went very quickly, two days and they were done. The roof looks great! I'll also mention that Tony gave us a very competitive price. We interviewed half a dozen roof contractors and Mike's came in at half the price of most of them. Half the price! Other roofers sent us sales kids who had been trained at Enterprise and tried to ""close the deal"" on the spot with exorbitant prices. Tony is a roofing veteran -- part of the Mike's Roofing family I believe -- and he got the job done right. Thanks Mike's Roofing!

Wow. What a ""GREAT"" experience all around hiring Mike's Roofing and Building to do our new roof. The old roof was 28 years old, and we've been in our house 45 years. Tony and his dad Mike, have been around for a very long time, since 1972, and it shows. They were recommended by very old personal friends in Northridge and they were ""right on"".
From the moment Tony came out for a free estimate I knew we were in good hands. They removed one roof, (shingles) and also flat roofing over the Carport. They repaired 3 or 4 seriously water damaged places with new facia board and paint. They sold me Owens Coring 50 year warranted shingles. Since I'm 75 years old, I think they might just outlive me. We pulled a permit and the Department of Water and Power should give us a rebate since we used high efficiency shingles considered ""cool"" shingles,
They finished the job last week after 4 days with 2-6 men working depending on the daily requirements. I have already recommended them to 4 others, one of which I believe has already gotten an estimate.
Believe me it was high quality work with trained professionals that I would hire again in a moment.

Do what you say you are going to do, do it when you say you are going to do it and do it for what you say you are going to do it for.

Mike's did all three.

There was the need for some follow up work because a couple of their sub contractors tried to cut corners, but the issues were quickly fixed when identified.

Well finding you need a roof repair ( or worse a whole new roof) is usually found at the most inopportune time. They say when it rains it pours. When most people find they have a leak others have found the same problem. People get very antsy and expect everyone to be available when they need them. Negative reviews could easily be for that exact reason. I'm here to tell you as a contractor, that while I'm a cabinetmaker and not a roofer, I know what good service is. I've used Mike and his company for years and highly recommend them. His son, Tony is very knowledgeable and not at all high strung. Fortunately they do such good work that I don't have to have calls for them to come back. There are obviously less than wonderful conditions that they have to work around. Flat roofs should be a concern for anyone. Water needs to drain and the higher the pitch the better. Very few people think ahead and plan for the need to get a roof repaired. If your at all interested in their services you can have them service cleaning out or replacing gutters and at the same time give a review of your roof. If you want to be proactive, everyone should visit their attics at the first rain of the season and check for leaks. At that time you have a better chance of getting on their list. As far as pricing, again I have no complaints. They are competitive and roofs are not the cheapest but maybe one of the most important items your house will ever need. If your thinking about going with a solar system be sure to give them a call first to check out sequencing.

I have been using this company to repair and maintain the roof on my home for the past 25 years. They have been very responsive, their prices have been reasonable and their workmanship has been first rate. Howard has been the estimator for my last two service calls. He is very through and provides a detailed explanation for the service that he recommends.

Worst customer service ever. I called to schedule an estimate next week. The woman I spoke to insisted that I need to call her next week to schedule because ""I am not the owner to the house yet"". I told her that the closing is next Monday and would like to schedule an estimate on Thursday next week. She insisted that I am not the owner so can't make the appointment?!?! While I have lined up different contractors/repair men to look at the house next Tuesday and Wednesday, I do not understand why this woman is so stubborn with no flexibility on scheduling in advance? Making appointment early is preferred by most business but not this company. It doesn't make any sense to me. The only thing I could guess is while the company might care about their customers, this female rep doesn't care at all.

I had Mike's roofing come out to put a tarp on my roof due to leaking in the previous rain storms. They charged $500.00 to do this but the money would be applied to the repairs within the next 30 days. They did not come prepared to support the tarp that I had to pay $500.00 for so they used river rock I had around my home to support it. Well we know river rock is round and with winds in the north valley they will fall off. We heard rocks falling off in the middle of the night crashing onto the concrete around my home. I called them they came out with supplies they should have used. I then called them out for a roof repair estimate. Mauricio came out for about 5 minutes and said he would speak with his boss/owner Tony and get back to me. Well close to 2 weeks later I called them and he emailed me an estimate for $7500.00 for repairs. He said they have to replace 600 feet of Decra metal tile. I asked why. He said that is how they repair roofs. I called Decra the manufacturer of the roof and when I told him the estimate they laughed at me and said our tile is very durable and does not need replacing it can be reset. I called Tony the owner/boss and asked how he came up with is estimate. He said from satelite pictures. I said you were not even at my home and Mauricio was at my home for 5 minutes and you want to charge me $7500.00. He said this is the price and feel free to call someone else out. I have referred them to buyers and sellers that I have worked with over 30 years. I will NEVER EVER refer them again. They are dishonest & unreliable. DO NOT USE THEM.
