Had difficulties connecting with this company in the beginning, but after that first snafu, it's been fine. Have had two roof leaks, Mike Rabaino's service has been quick to respond via email. Usually, they book out a few weeks but have always been able to call me up and complete the fix early when they have an opening. Very happy with their service, will keep using them.

We had an excellent experience with Rabaino Roofing. We were dreading the hassles of putting on a new roof, but everything went very smoothly. Mike, Kayla in the office, and the work crew were extremely professional and courteous. The crew came when they said they would, and finished when they said they would. There was no rushing. And when a couple of very minor issues came up at the end, they handled them right away and without any problem. This company has an excellent reputation in the community, and it is deserved!

We recently had our house reroofed by Rabaino Roofing. The job itself was reasonably fast and the roof appears to be fine but it's still too early to say how it will fare.

During the work I caught one of the workers urinating in my backyard shed, and after the job was finished we found a few dozen nails lying all over the yard which is concerning since our children play there. In the final invoice they tried to overcharge me by $1000. When I pointed out their invoice didn't match the original contract, it took a few emails for them to realize their mistake and then they blamed an intern (apparently their billing is done by interns with no oversight or double checks).

Overall not particularly professional, and I'd recommend anyone hiring them to be careful both with the workers and the billing.

I'm giving Rabino two stars only because they seem to have a good reputation in Davis. I need a roof repair, and I want bids. Different companies vary widely in how much they charge. I already have two bids (no charge) one for $1600 and one for $3600. Rabino, however, won't even come & look without charging $65. They will apply that $65 to your repair (if you use them). But without knowing what they will charge, I find their approach coercive and unfair. I won't waste my money just to discover that their bid is way more than others. I guess they have all the work they need, otherwise this unfair practice makes no sense.

In May if 2016, I had my roof redone by Rabaino Roofing. It had been around 20 years,
so I had to have the old roof removed and some repairs done. Also had my porch completely roofed--originally had only about 1/3 covered per the style at the time.
My roof was removed and repairs done in one day. The next day the roof was completed. I also had new gutters installed--mine were totally outdated. Because I have a lot of trees around my home--heavy duty gutters were installed. I love my new roof, especially my new porch and gutters. The crew was extremely capable and the work was done quickly and efficiently. Couldn't be more pleased.

Rabaino roofing did the inspection for our home purchase, and we were completely satisfied with their performance. Courteous, on time, and they did everything we needed quickly.

My complaint is about their billing, not the quality of their work. We called Rabaino on the recommendation of our real estate agent for an emergency repair (roof leak). They sent out two guys quickly and their repair seems to be holding up. I had an extremely favorable impression of them... until the bill appeared.

The issue is that they massively padded the hours on the bill, and there's no itemization. They billed PER MAN for their time to drive to my house in Davis from Woodland, even though (according to the dispatcher) they were already in Davis. They billed for time (again, for two people) to drive to the dump for disposal, even though there was nothing to dispose. They billed for the time that one of the guys spent taking measurements for a bid for a roof replacement this summer. Finally, they billed for time the workers spent idle while their office wrote up their estimate, e-mailed it to us without any instructions, and waited a half-hour for our response. In all, we were billed for 3.5 man-hours for a job where they spent less than an hour at my house. I don't have a problem paying for the work they actually did, and their materials. I accept paying a bit of a premium for emergency work, but this was really egregious.

I really think their communication skills are lacking. When my wife called them to discuss the bill, the owner's wife was condescending and rude. When discussing the travel time, she justified it by saying that she had to pay her workers for their time. Setting aside the ridiculous idea that travel time should pay the same rate as actual work time, and the similarly ridiculous idea that BOTH GUYS in the truck should be paid that rate, their first-hour rate is already 50% higher than their subsequent hours to cover things like travel time. I've never paid for travel time when (for example) I've had a plumber or electrician come to do emergency work.

The owner's wife acted like she was doing us some sort of favor by later removing their idle time (which was their fault) and the measuring time. She also told my wife that they had responded so quickly as a favor to our real estate agent. I'd hate to see what the bill is like when it's NOT a favor. Needless to say, my wife told her not to bother with their bid for roof replacement. It's amazing that they would try to gouge us on a several-hundred-dollar repair, knowing they could be building goodwill for tens of thousands of dollars in work this summer. Their loss.

Mike, the owner was able to meet us on short notice, in Davis on Saturday to look at our roof. This was very helpful for us as we are out of town landlords . He was able to return the following Monday to do the repair. He was extremely pleasant, professional and there to help with a smile. If 10 stars were possible I would be giving him that! I highly recommend this company.
