Company Overview

Mike Farris Inc. is a seasoned roofing contractor with 35 years of expertise in putting in place metal roofs, shingles, tile roofs, shakes, and slate. Initially, we operated as a roofing and restoration company, but rapidly shifted our efforts on roof installation. Over the years, we have framed houses, and in the early 2000s, we started contracting new construction. Today, we still focus on roofing.

We are a premier roofing company known for our skill and knowledge in the Florida Panhandle. Mike Farris, now 64, is actively performing roofs. I have no intention of stopping as long as I can ascend a ladder. I attended a couple of years of engineering school from 1971-1973, in addition to construction management and estimating courses from Gulf Coast State. I also completed all courses except A+ and English toward an Associate's degree in computer systems. I passed the English exam in 1971, but as a result of the non-retention of CLEP results, GCSC denied credit, even though the University of Alabama recognized it. The A+ certification was only available on Wednesday nights, and I teach a class at church that night, so I declined to take the course. I maintain current credentials for Wayne dispensers and Verifone systems and Commander. I have a pair of Certified State licenses in the Florida construction sector: General Contractor and Roofing Contracting. The business started in the year 1981, after six years of roofing and home repairs as additional work. We transitioned to a corporation in 1992, and have continued that corporation since then.
