Back in 2009 I had my roof replaced by Mickey's roofing. From the start, things were very shaky with this company. For starters the installers were a no show on the first day of the roof installation. The roofers finally showed up the next day and started work on the roof. We were home during the installation and then we noticed during the installation paint started falling from around the skylights. We contacted the company and they sent someone out to repaint the damaged area but blamed the home builder.
A few weeks after the initial installation we noticed a water spot forming on the kitchen ceiling. I went up into the attic to investigate and found a leak. I called them back to report the leak, and it took at least 3 separate calls for them to come out and fix it.
Later on during that same year, I noticed some of the shingles starting to warp, so another call to Mickey's roofing and again, it took multiple calls for them to come out and fix it.
Fast forward a couple of years to 2011, I noticed more water damage on my ceiling; this time in the master bathroom. I called Mickey's roofing back and this time the person I spoke to didn't seem to be that at all concerned about my leaky roof. He told me he would get in contact with his roofer and have him call me back, but of course no call back from anyone. I called back 2 more times that night, but still no success in getting anyone to come out and fix the leak. Over the rainy weekend, the roof continued to leak. The following Monday, STILL no call so I called back and was told yet again he would get in contact with the roofer and he would call me back in two hours. Two hours pass, still no call, so I back yet again and this time was told the roofer got my message and would call me back shortly. Another two hours later, still no call, so I call Mickey back yet again and this time he seemed irritated that I kept calling back. Long story short, after about 4 more calls to the roofer FINALLY calls me back and eventually comes out and fixes the leak.
Unfortunately this isn't the last of the troubles. Last week, one morning as I'm getting ready for work, I hear more dripping water coming from the ceiling in the master bathroom. I call them again to inform the person of the leak. Of course I'm told he would get in contact with the roofer and he will have him call me in a couple of hours. Three hours later, and not surprisingly no call back from anyone. I call him back and this time I'm told I would be contacted after lunch. Lunch comes and goes; still no call. I call him back around 3:30 pm, and I get the same run around as before.
At this point I have given up on Mickey's Roofing. I still have a year left on my labor warranty but frankly it isn't worth the paper it is printed on. This company has no problem taking your money and insurance's money to install a roof, but once they get your money, they disappear and couldn't care less about fixing issues with their installation. Not returning calls, and unprofessionalism is not any way to run a company. I'm not calling them back anymore and will have to end up biting the bullet and just pay a reputable roofer to come out and fix the leak.
This company was recommended by my HOA and it has turned out to be a big mistake going with them. I'm suspecting this company was running an insurance fraud scam and picked up and ran years ago. They always seem to have the same guy answering the phone who doesn't ever seem to know anything or do anything for customers; he doesn't even answer the phone as ""Mickey's roofing"", just some guy who answers ""Hello?"" This company is completely worthless and if by chance you are ever approached by Mickey's Roofing to install a new roof, RUN away FAST. If you are in Georgia like me, good luck in finding a reputable roofer, in my experience roofing contractors in this state are nothing but shady con-artists and Mickey's roofing is at the very the top of that list.
