AVOID AVOID AVOID...... warning: long review
After the hail storm this year I called Metro roofing to replace my roof since they did it in 2011. They also fix all the other damage that was caused by the hail (gutters,etc..). So a couple months after they finished their work a big rain storm came through the area. That's when I heard the pitter patter of water in my kitchen. I walked in and saw water coming through the ceiling and down the walls. I used 7 pots and bowls for different leaks and bordered the walls with towels to catch the water. The biggest leak filled my biggest bowl 3 times before slowing to a drip.
I called Metro the next day and they came out and resealed the area of the leak. I then asked about my kitchen repairs and was told their interior guy would be over Monday. He was a no show. Called again and we rescheduled for Wednesday. No show. So on Friday I reached out to my Ins. Co. to see if they could reopen the claim and help me get this done. They sent out an inspector to survey the damage. He looked at their reseal job and was not impressed. He told me the kitchen needed drywall repair, retexturing, and repainted.
My Ins. Co. then reached out to Metro and sent them the report and pictures. About a week later a painter shows up and ask me if I have the paint. I told him its going to take more than paint. He called his boss (the interior guy) and told me it would be a big job and have to reschedule. He was the first person from Metro to actually look at the damage inside the house. Needless to say they never came back or called.
Six weeks later after the rain I told Metro I was going to have a drywall co. come out and send them the bill. They agreed and paid the cost. The drywall co. however doesn't paint, so now I have a kitchen full of fresh texture work.
Now the worst part, I noticed some streaking marks in my dining room. They are hard to see because of a big china piece. This room is on the opposite side of the kitchen. I pull back the china piece and the entire wall is water damaged. The paint had bubbled away from the sheetrock and water streaks everywhere. Nobody ever thought to look at the other side of the wall for damage, including me. I text Metro and send pics. Nothing. They want nothing to do with me.
A few days later, I call Metro and ask to speak to the owner, they take down all my info (about 10 minute conversation). He assures me it will be forwarded to the owner. He doesn't contact me but another Metro employee shows up to my door the following week. And he's ready to get me taken care of. He goes on the roof and he's not impressed with the reseal job either. Comes back the next day with help and more sealant. (This makes me believe the crew never sealed this area in the first place, there was just too much water damage.) He looks at my inside and says he will take care of it. 3 weeks later I call him, he obviously forgot. 2 weeks later a painter calls me and says he needs to look at the wall. By this time I have painted the kitchen ceiling myself. He calls me in the morning and says he will call me back within an hour. 5 hours later he says he's on his way. Almost 2 hours later he shows up. We agree to start Monday. He text me Sunday night wondering how early he can start, I say 8 am. At 9:30 I text him where he's at? He's still at home says he will be there in an hour. An hour and a half later he says he has car trouble and wants to reschedule. I contact Metro and tell them to get another painter. Nothing. No response. It's been 4 months since the rain and I am now painting the wall. It's faux painting and doesn't exactly match. More money, more wasted time.
I should have taken legal action against them. If I owned a company and I screwed up someone's house? I would be bending over backwards to make things right. They could care less. Probably because they don't get paid for correcting their screw ups. It is like they don't even take responsibility for their own mistakes. Avoid this company at all cost. Or you will be out money and time, like me. (I've spent over $400 on paint and supplies, countless hours painting, taping, up and down the ladder). That damn ladder makes me want to get a lawyer now. Up the ladder, down the ladder, move the ladder 2 feet, up the ladder, etc......
I apologize for the long review, there was just so much to cover.
p.s. They also walked off with my big rake, a large home depot bucket and utility knife. I don't think it was intentional but the first supervisor said he would track them down for me 7 months ago.
