I purchased my home in January of 2018. One of the stipulations to the deal was that the new roof that was installed in 2017 had a warranty that would extend to me since the previous owners had paid for it. Everything had been fine but I recently noticed some water in the garage and when I looked up there appeared to be a leak. So remembering the details of my negotiation for the house I looked for paperwork to support my claim and called Merritt roofing. Bare in mind I am no expert so it's possible my issue wasn't even a leaky roof but to be safe I called anyways. I was hoping a tech would come out and assess the issue and worse case scenario repair the damage and hopefully I'd be covered. If not well that was fine too. When I called in both times the secretary or agents were so rude. I am assuming because they knew I wasn't new business and might cost them something vs make them money. Both calls I was told ""we don't extend warranties to new owners, it stays with the original owner"". ""We'll have a tech call you to come out and look at the damage"". I am STILL waiting for that call. At the end of the day I am a customer and I was willing to pay to have the damage repaired if the warranty didn't extend to me. Instead they lost a client. Very disappointing.
