McLeran Roofing replaced my roof 4 years ago. Everything went smoothly, the work was excellent, and roof looks great!
I highly recommend them and have to friends and neighbors.

Brian McLeran and his crew were amazing. They gave us a bid, did the work in record time and cleaned up after themselves. The roof looks and is amazing. Thanks and kudos also to their office support Sara Rodriguez for her prompt and courteous responses to all my questions.

McLaren was the most reasonable pricing for replacing the flat roofs on my house. Their quote was extensive and clear. They got the permit and worked it all out with the inspections. The team showed up exactly when they said and worked hard both days they were here. They did a thorough cleanup. No surprises. In and out.
I am an architect who manages campus facilities, often working with roofers. I give a High recommendation for McLaren Roofing of San Rafael.

Brian McLeran called me on 2/28/17 and threatened to sue me if I did not take down my initial review. I feel that my review is factual and fair. I don't believe there is anything legally inappropriate. I contacted Yelp about this and they said they will respond within 5 business days.
Brian McLeran inspected my roof on 2/24/17, 16 days after the initial leak on 2/9/17 and 4 days after the second leaking episode. In fairness, McLeran stopped by my house unannounced on 2/15 or 2/16 (a week after I called about the first leak), but I did not receive a call ahead of time, so I was not home. Irregardless, when your roof is leaking and walls are splitting open, you need someone right away, not a week or two later.
I spoke with McLeran on 2/27 regarding his findings and he maintains that my roof is in ""good condition"" which I don't understand because it is still leaking. He said that it was simply a maintenance issue. However, I had my roof maintained by another reputable roofer on the same day of the initial leak and it continued to leak when it rained again. The new roofer recommended replacing the membrane if I wanted to ensure no future leaks. When I asked McLeran about this, he said that it was unnecessary and that the roof was in good condition and that these kinds of roofs have 50 year lifetimes (my roof is 23 years old). I asked if he recommended sealing up my interior walls and ceiling and he said yes, that replacing the membrane was not necessary and that it should not leak if I maintain the roof. However, in the roof inspection done by McLeran in July 2015, it said the roof should be inspected only every 7-8 years and that there was no work recommended at that time. I was not told that the roof needed near-term maintenance. I was hesitant to do the interior repairs because the estimate to repair my interior damage from the leak is over $6,000! Why would I fix the interior damage when I am not 100% sure of the cause of the leak? It seems that it would be prudent to at least water test the roof with a hose to ensure that it is not leaking.
After the call with McLeran, I spoke to the new roofer that has been helping me resolve the leak and he sent his tile expert over to my house today to look at the roof when it is not raining. They found a hole in the membrane that I was told by McLeran was in ""good condition"" and that I was told in my inspection report had a 10+ year useful lifetime. The new roofer patched the hole and this should hopefully resolve the leak. I am going to wait to do interior repairs until it rains again to confirm that the leak is fixed and until I can get my new roofer out again to water test the roof. The new roofer told me today that my membrane only has about 5 years of useful life left if I am lucky and if I have a professional maintain it annually. This is contrary to my inspection report which said 10+ years of useful life. I am understandably very upset that I am facing over $6,000 in roof leak damage and a $20,000+ roof replacement when I was told that I had 10+ years of useful life on my roof. I would have negotiated differently when I purchased my home if I had known this.
Brian McLeran told me that he feels insulted and that he wants to sue me. I am sorry if I do not empathize with this when I am the one losing a lot of money, receiving bad service and being threatened. I was not planning on pursuing legal action to recover the cost of my damages and the cost of sooner-than-expected roof replacement, but based on how I was treated by McLeran, I have changed my mind.

Had our roof re-done in 2015. Work was done ahead of schedule with no leaks or problems (1.5 years at time of this writing). Recently though, we found a leak in one of our rooms; when we called McLeran, they quickly sent someone out to investigate. They discovered that the source of the leak was an old window (unrelated to their roof work). They referred me to a contractor to help me get the window fixed. They are prompt with phone as well as e-mail communication. I've been very happy with their service! Highly recommend!

Brian and his crew are exceptional. Professional, courteous, hard-working and effective. After having them cope with several problems with our roof this rainy season, we would never look for anyone else.

Just now paid the bill on our new garage roof. McLeran showed up as promised..completed the job on time..came back next day to make sure we were satisfied.

Very kind and helpful, and apparently professional.
A little tough to pin down... but I suspect that's because their so busy keeping existing customers happy and dry.

McLeran Roofing is a great company. When we purchased our house 5 years ago we knew we'd need a new roof soon. After being here 2 years, we started gathering bids until we had 5. McLeran's was the most competitive by a significant amount, but not only that: all the other companies said we needed to replace the roof right away, whereas McLeran said we could get a few more years out of it if we did some very inexpensive fixes. We followed their advice, invested a few hundred dollars in extending the life of the old roof, and after 3 years, bit the bullet and hired McLeran to do the job. Brian, the owner, and Sara, his right-hand woman, showed up the week before to walk the property and understand some of our concerns. The next week a large crew of great guys showed up, and within three days, finished the job. Every day the job was left extremely clean, the crew was very polite, hard-working and respectful of the property. Now we have a wonderful new roof. When the job was over, Brian inspected the roof to make sure it was okay -- it was -- and we paid him. We could not be happier with the job they did. McLeran Roofing is a wonderful company.

A serious roof leak made itself explicitly evident during this spring's rains, and I consider myself lucky to have discovered McLeran Roofing as a result.
Brian McLeran came out to inspect the roof and locate the leak. When he called with his findings, he asked me whether I had any proficiency with tools, then walked me through how I could put together a stop-gap repair on my own until I was ready to replace the roof. Free advice, no pressure.
I knew the roof was near the end of its economic life. Sure, I figured I might have been able to get another year out of it thanks to Brian's advice, but it was a matter of time, and it wasn't going to get any cheaper. So I called McLeran again for a quote. Totally reasonable, and honest! When Brian had been over to assess the condition of the roof, he identified a portion that was still in decent shape and had a few years of life in it.
Communication was exceptional during the course of the two-day job. Brian called the first day to confirm a few things, and again on the second day just to let me know that everything was going exactly as he had anticipated it would, and that there were ""no surprises."" There is very little that could be more reassuring to a homeowner than to hear a contractor say that things are going smoothly. The crew did a great job, and the property was left clean and tidy on both days they were here. After everything wrapped up, Brian even came back to walk the job, inspect everything that was done, and to answer any questions I had.
I was totally impressed with McLeran's work, and their customer service is a rare and appreciated bonus. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
