I would give May Custom Home negative stars. We wanted to install a Lanai extension/screen room to increase our outdoor space. In June we had a consultation and the price seemed reasonable and they promised a quick installation...perfect right? I had our HOA approval done and a permit was pulled in approximately 60 days. I received an email for an updated invoice in December then...silence. From the initial consultation, I was told that an engineer would be out to take measurements and give me a breakdown of work to be completed and nothing...no one came out...no phone calls to schedule a meeting...no email on progress or planning. Fast forward to January, and after all the waiting, I attempted to send an email asking for updates, yet each of the ""contact us"" links on their website sent me to a 404 page (I tried all three)! I emailed the only people who had emailed me before stating that I would like to cancel the project due to their lack of communication and effort. You'd think I would have received an email back...nope, nothing. In February I received a phone call stating that they had a cancellation and could do the installation the next day. I informed the associate that I had sent an email of cancellation in the previous month and informed her of the personnel in the email. She then asked me what they could do to keep my business and I expressed to her that I would continue the project for 50% off, after that, she tried to flex on me and stated that if I don't continue with the project I would be subject to legal action. I told her, that's fine...I'll go to court (I don't think she was expecting me to say that).

Overall, May Custom Home is a terrible company and they don't communicate, at all. I didn't even have any work done and I can only imagine the headache that would incur if something they did went wrong.

Wish I could give this company a big fat 0!! Worst company to do business with. Ordered two windows December 6, 2021 windows were not installed till May 29,2022. After 3 months of installation we noticed that water had gotten in somehow causing mold, & wrecked a portion of our laminate floor. After NUMEROUS calls they sent out the installer to check, and he recaulked the windows said he had to talk to his boss and they would get back to us which THEY NEVER DID!!! After disputing the remaining charges for the two windows with the credit card company we did get out remaining balance back. NEVER receiveded a return phone call after NUMEROUS voicemails, pictures. This company never returns phone calls, worst customer service would NEVER NEVER recommend them! Cost us over $3500.00 for repair & materials.

May Custom Home was hired in May 2022 after the hail storm in Sebring. 3 different friends hired the company to repair damage. It took 2 months for them to start work. They consistently were trying to get more money from insurance and customers for work not needed. He put a lien on one property without doing the work. Ordered the wrong product and installed on a home. Refused to correct the issue. Consistently said talk to my attorney. Rather than attempting to resolve the issue professionally. Stopped work on another project. Took six months to complete a roof and failed to pull permits before. Would not get final approval from inspector. Homeowner had to call inspector directly.

Is rude, disrespectful and abusive to customers. Especially women. Do not. I repeat DO not hire this company for any job.

If only I'd read these reviews before signing a contract. It's 6 months in, nothing has been done, barely any communication. And now, 10% increase on a project, that's 2k! When I asked if I could cancel the contract they told me it'd be $4,500!! I'm trapped and disappointed and who knows what the end result will even be... Don't trust the sales guy, don't trust any of them!

I give this business a zero. I may be forced to give one star to post this review. The sales person lied about the time frame for doing the job, I couldn't get a start date for it either and no one answers the phone...the last time I called their voicemail box was full. And when they applied for a permit to do my job they couldn't even supply the information the city needed. Stay away from them.

Put a deposit on a window and remodel job on Oct 14th. Since then I have tried to call, email and text to see what the status of the proposed schedule is.
there as been zero response from the salesman, the office or the scheduler as to the status of the job.
As of November 20th, I am filing a complaint with the Dept. of Business and Professional Regulation Office and am instituting a court claim for the return of my deposit.
I can't imagine why a company would be in the business of taking money and then not doing the work. Can't imagine also, how they been in business for 26yrs doing this to clients

I am giving it a 2 stars only because the workers installing the roof did worked hard but everything from when the salesperson came out to give us a quote to the day of installation was awful. We got 3 quotes and decided to go with this company because it verbally sounded like a good solid comes. The sales person gave a good sales pitch. No communication what so ever. Not one call to say the material has been ordered, the trailer would be dropped off or picked up, permit has been approved. Nothing! We waited for about 2 months not knowing if we were forgotten, completely silenced. You would call, leave a message and at times they would call you. The material dropped off in our front yard with no warning, trailer appeared in the front yard with no warning, didn't know when they were starting the work, we heard walking on the roof one morning and knew they were there to work on the roof. No knock at the door or anything. Now the one call that came the same day the roof was completed was for payment. Wanted us to sign the paperwork before it passed inspections which I thought was shady. I would NOT recommend this company at all. They also left all the scrap material thrown from the roof all over. It looked like a hurricane had come thru and my husband had to pick everything up and take it to the dumpster. After the roof was completed they left all the unused material in our front yard which required another trip to the dumpster. They said they would be by in a couple days to pick which never happened.

I had May Custom Homes install a new shingle roof on my home about a year and a half ago. I've since found a leak and can't get a hold of anyone. Customer Service doesn't answer their phone nor return phone calls. After several tries I resorted to calling Mike , the owner, who also doesn't answer his phone . I tried leaving him messages but his mailbox is always full. I finally resorted to calling the shingle warranty division and they want information I can't get for them. My patience is gone and I would never recommend May Custom Homes for housing improvement.

We did a compete kitchen and floors remodel, we couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. May custom home was open and upfront on our ideas, we thought we wanted brown cabinets and Mike said for our space grey would make the space look bigger and he was 100% right. The guys would show up at 8 am daily and worked endlessly till they job was done. We have waited 9 year to be able to do our house the way we wanted and the wait was worth have the right people do our project. We literally feel like we got a brand new home, no corners cut!
