Jerold -- knowing FULL WELL that I was not only in a wheelchair due to Long COVID, which is literally KILLING me, but that we were leaving the country shortly - - totally took advantage of me and my good nature. And he breached the contract in a variety of ways, not the least of which was that EVERYTHING was supposed to be all done in ONE DAY; he changed the date on me several times, and then surprised me by sending a crew on a Sunday (which was a day sooner than his most recent promise). And this crew was obviously NOT his regular crew, because not only did they do a shabby job, but they didn't do it all. We had two downspouts instead of a complete gutter system; the roof on the shed was not touched; and the roof on the house looked like a group of kids had done. When I called him to complain as we were leaving the house that Sunday (that crew had also left a mess and departed at 4:16 PM when they were supposed to stay until it was all done, AND he wasn't even THERE) that almost nothing had been accomplished AND they had left a mess, he blew me off. When I indicated that the gutters had not been done, his response was that he ""didn't want to bother [my] gutter guy on a Sunday."" I informed him that his ""gutter guy"" had obviously already been ""bothered"" that Sunday, as there were two downspouts, but that was all. I told him that there WOULD be a roof on that shed by the time we reappeared at the house Monday morning, and there was - - but it was crappy. He sent someone during the night to haphazardly slap a roof on that shed - - which we paid for out-of-pocket so that the hail-damaged house roof and the not-so-damaged shed roof would match - - and I felt so sorry for the neighbors because that was probably a pretty loud nighttime endeavor. Anyway, I informed him that there was going to be an inspector from USAA coming at 4 PM the next day, and suddenly all EVERYTHING roofing-adjacent was completed - - and by a much more professional crew. But the gutters and downspouts didn't get done before we left for Germany. (I am assuming they got done because the house finally sold, although for $25,000 less than we had originally listed it for because since he took so long and the house could not be shown for liability reasons during the ELONGATED repair process, we had to mark it down THREE times!) So we withheld the $9000 balance because he had breached the contract in numerous ways. And what did he do? Put a lien on the house two days before it was to be closed on. So that money is now in escrow so that I can fight him for it, and we have an attorney who says we will definitely win - - so this guy is going to be out not only that $9000 but court costs/attorneys' fees. Steer clear of him! The first red flag for me should've been the fact that he had me deposit the first monies directly into his PERSONAL account - - when I questioned this, he said, ""Oh, I do this all the time."" And I should've looked at the reviews before I engaged his services. Because he's obviously terrible -- I'm not the only one. (No photos because we are now in Germany, but sufficed to suffice it to say the two roofs looked good.)

And if zero stars were possible, that's what he would get. Because he got MEAN once he realized that he wasn't getting the money he was not deserving of.

At 0645am, people are scraping and stomping. I went outside and the owner of the business tells me ""oh I forgot to notify you that we will be working"". I tell him I have a infant who I just put back to sleep. He says ""oh well I have to finish"" the property manager should have notified me as well"" then proceeds to walk away. They took my drive way without permission went back to stomping and scraping harder with no consideration of my infant. When I looked on the website, it clearly says work from 0800-600pm. Not apologic and didn't care.

I had requested three quotes from different companies, per our insurance company, over the phone. This was for our rental house that is vacant. Martinez Roofing came in cheaper than the others. We were kind of worried, but after meeting him and talking to him, we were pretty sure we had made the right choice. He said it would be done in one day. We were concerned about the clean up and afterwards. Well the day after he completed the work, we went by to check on it. I was very surprised that not only was the roof looking good, but we did not see a single nail any where on the drive way. We were very pleased and have recommended him already to a friend that will be calling him also. I thank you very Martinez Roofing for a splendid job well done.

It's so difficult to find reputable contractors. I found them through an Internet search and happy I did. They replaced my roof and quoted me a fair price. They completed the job in a day and a half and I can't be happier. I will explore future work through this company and highly recommend them!

Fantastic work at a great price, fast, professional and courteous. During the storm last night my roof stated leaking. And more rain is called for tonight and tomorrow! Called Martinez Roofing, they came out and repaired my roof today. I can't praise them enough and not only do I highly recommend them, we are hiring them for some other work we want done around the house!

After a wind storm blew several shingles off my roof I contacted several roofers to get an estimate. Martinez Roofing (Pete Martinez) came on a Thursday afternoon and gave me an estimate to replace about 12 shingles. After I agreed to have him do the work he said he could be at my house on the following Saturday at 8 AM. Saturday morning he does not show up. I waited until 8:40 and then gave him a call and had to leave a message. I called again around 10:00 AM and left another message asking him to call me. I never heard from Mr. Martinez. He didn't even bother to call me during the week. I consider him unreliable and not a man of his word. Do not use this guy to do any work!
