In 1946, Martin Painting and Decorating was launched by Edward Martin as a residential painting service. With Mr. Martin at the helm, the business shifted focus from residential painting to serving commercial and industrial clients with high-performance coatings and resinous flooring.

In 1976, the company was renamed Martin Specialty Coatings, Inc. to reflect its diverse coating offerings. In 1987, his sons took over the business, marking the transition to a second-generation family operation.

Our headquarters was moved to a more spacious location in 1992 to facilitate our growth. Our product range grew to include shop-applied coatings during this time. In 2005, we introduced powder coating to our services.

We now offer our complete coating services to businesses located within 300 miles of Shreveport. As a third-generation company, we employ over 100 skilled professionals, many with more than 20 years of experience.
