I've known Fred Martin for years. He's a great guy and a very experienced roofer, but you really never know until you have the company do some work for you personally. I recently had his estimator Nestor out to my house to estimate the repair of a leak repair. I was just expecting an estimate. He went up on the roof immediately found the problem and fixed it on the spot. He also gave me an estimate to repair and replace my old clay tile roof. I elected for the repair and they did a great job. When it comes time to replace I know who I'm calling.

I called on Monday for roof repair, was transferred to a nice sounding gentleman named Benny whom assured me that he would be here on ""Wednesday, Thursday at the latest"". He then gave me a contact number to reach him. I am in the middle of preparing for water damage remediation so it seemed reasonable. Friday comes, and I've heard nothing from Martin Roofing or Benny. I call the number he provided and realize it's transferring me to another number/service, unusual ring pattern indicating out of country? It tells me that the person ""no esta disponible, and hangs up on me. I call the Martin Roofing number and leave a voicemail. Saturday, 10:30 am... No call, no notification, Benny is at the door now looking agitated. I show him the inside damage caused by the leak. He tells me he does'nt have a ladder long enough for my single story home, granted there is a 2-3 footish parapet around 3 sides. He finally climbs up the carport roof and onto the roof and comes down 5 minutes later. ""Your roof is old... I won't repair this, you need a new roof"". I agreed, yes i do need a new roof. But i need it to not leak at this time so I can get started with the insurance covered remediation and replace the roof later this summer. But before I could say anything else, he was in his truck and down the street. I don't think he was dressed, or prepared to actually repair a roof. His intent was not to do the job asked, but to ""up-sell or go to hell"". I like to call that the ""Merry-go-fuck-yourself"" approach to marketing. I usually see it when people just don't want to actually do something, akin to stating a ridiculous price because you want the customer to say no. I had intended to pay for repair and then pay for new roof later, but I do not think I will be using the services of Martin Roofing Co.

Martin Roofing was hired to inspect and waterproof a roof on a house in escrow. After the closing the roof started leaking really badly. Mistakes could be made, but when the owner was asked to at least come out and look at the roof to see what was wrong he hung up the phone and now refuses to take all phone calls. Basically, they talk to you when they're getting your business, but they don't stand behind their work.

We had the pleasure to have a new roof installed by Martin Roofing Company, and must say that they were professional, efficient and were true craftsmen in all aspects of the work. The crew was on time and were a joy to watch. The cleanup was thorough and all the old shingles were removed as promised.
Our house was built in the late 20s and had wood damage to the facia boards and some of roofing lumber. These were replaced with better materials and the appearance is far better.
We will recommend this company to anyone needing a new or replacement roof.

Martin roofing has done a total of 3 roofs for me, and one for my father. Mine were all straight-forward clay tile roofs. First was in 2000, second was a remodel in 2016, and third was an outbuilding this year. Never a leak, never any kind of problem with the roof or their work, and their pricing is very competitive. What more can you ask for from a roofing company?

My brother referred me to this company.

I called six times over month period each time someone said they would call me but they never got back to me. On couple of occasions, I talked with John (roofer) directly, said he would call me back but just got in the office but NEVER did. My issue is if you DO NOT want my business just say so, no hard feeling but telling me you'll call me back each time and never following up it Unprofessional.

I was recommended Martin Roofing by a solar estimator/inspector so I hired them to do a tear off and replacement of shingles on my house. They contracted the tear off so a non-Martin team showed up for that with no supervision by Martin and actually no supervisor was present, just a group of workers. One guy seemed to be in charge, but he was working, not supervising, and these guys were rough. My confidence level was dim, I was on the roof several times checking on them. I had to stop one of them that was trying to beat the flashing from a 60 yr old brick chimney and he had already broken four or more bricks. They didn't have the right tools and they didn't care all too much what damage they did, this guy certainly was not the least bit bothered that he was destroying the chimney, which was in perfect shape prior to his arrival. He was more bothered that his hammer blows were only breaking brick and not removing the flashing. Martin workers showed up later that day, they got the roof on, it looks good, I felt really good with the lead roofer, but I never did see the supervisor in charge, just had a couple conversations on the phone and he never asked if I was okay with things, he seemed to want to just get rid of me. I wouldn't recommend them as a company. It was just okay.

I was referred to this company so I contacted them 3 times over a 9 day period. I realize roofers are very busy right now so I gave it more than one call. Each time someone said they would call me but they never got back to me. On the 4th call they referred me to another roofer saying they were too busy. Thanks for having me wait 9 days to tell me this. Lost my business and I will let the person that referred me know this too.
