I love the new roof Martin Moran roofing just put on my new house! His team were professional, helpful, friendly, tidy, and did everything they promised in a timely manner.

I began looking for a roofer in July, not realizing how late in the season this was. I needed the roof finished by mid-September and Martin Moran Roofing was the only company with decent reviews who could do it on time. My friend who works for American Lumber also recommended him.

I have never had a roof put on a house before and after researching the various products online, I had many questions. Kayla, who works with Martin, answered the phone and also answered all my questions. She's very helpful and professional, and knows a lot about roofs as she's worked in the roofing business for a long time. What she didn't know offhand she found out quickly and go back to me.

Jerry, Martin's marketing person, was also very helpful. He came out to the house and climbed up on the roof with samples of shingles. If he hadn't done this I wouldn't have know which color to choose. As it is, I think the color of the roof looks great! He also answered all my questions about attic ventilation, etc.

I haven't met Martin, but heard from my friend that he's also a very nice guy.

Here's some advice about getting a new roof and what to do if you want a skylight:

1) Start EARLY! When I called in July, most roofers were scheduling through Oct-Nov or even later. You don't want to have your roof put on when it might rain.

2) Regarding skylights: Start even earlier. I didn't realize this, but the roofers cannot do the inside work on your skylight. All they do is mount it in the roof. If the rafters need to be moved or reinforced, they can't do that. They also don't put the hole in your ceiling or build the drywall tunnel that leads up to the skylight. The skylight you choose should fit in the space between your existing rafters, so go up in the attic and measure before ordering. Find the contractor who can do this work, possibly even before you find the roofer. You will very likely need a third person to paint the new drywall, unless you want to do it yourself. I ordered a Velux skylight from Home Depot but it was too large (and also arrived damaged). Jerry couldn't find a contractor at the last minute who could install a skylight for an affordable price (the price quoted to me was $2500-$3500!!!). In the end I returned the skylight and didn't try to get another. If I'd started early enough I think could have had one put in at an affordable price.

Before you shop for a roofer, also research the products available and learn about attic ventilation, attic fans, whole-house fans, etc. If you do these things your house will be much more comfortable and you can save A LOT on air conditioning costs.

I was amazed by the timely response and action taken by the Martin Moran roofing company to assess and repair the leak in our roof. One of the tiles on the roof was broken and caused water to seep in during a big storm last month. It didn't seem like a big deal but I felt something had to be done about it sooner rather than later. Fortunately, the people at the Martin Moran roofing company were able to send someone (by the name of David) over within an hour. He went up the roof, took pictures of the damage to show me and his company, and not long after he was able to replace the broken tile and fix the leak. Great job, guys!!! Keep up the good work!!! I would highly recommend this company to my friends and family who need roof repairs!!!

Hello my Good People of Modesto,

Randy Castillo here just spreading the good word on Martin Moran Roofing.

Picture this:: A major leak in my roof getting worse as each storm hits. As I reach out to potential roofing companies in Modesto, with the hopes of them helping me out of this dilemma , all I'm getting is promises in the dark...UGGGH!

Then like a shinning star in the darkest night there is Martin Moran Roofing there ready and willing and above all most capable of fixing my roof....

I knew from the moment I called and spoke with their professional call rep Alexis I knew I was in good hands. She was very sympathetic to my needs and was quick to have someone go out to my property even though I was not there and evaluate the damage...I thought WOW! this is awesome,

Andrew was quick to respond with a bid a ( and get this folks!!) went out the same day and began the repair and guaranteed me that the repair would be done by Saturday( Due to the storm that was predicted starting on Monday).

Basically Andrew with your skilled and trained staff came out and completed the repair by Saturday afternoon..( Again...WOW!)

Needless to say I am very impressed with Martin Moran Roofing...

Martin you have an incredible family and staff who does an awesome job..I will be sure to tell all my friends..
