I was an insurance broker for 43 years. During that time I had many calls from clients who's 5 year old roof was leaking. When I asked them if they had called the roofer that installed the new roof so many times they would tell me that they went out of business. Marin County Roofing has been in business in San Rafael for 103 years. Same family on the 4th generation now. They have replaced my roof on several homes over the years as well as commercial buildings that I own. I have never had a problem. They are very professional and their pricing is fair providing a great value for the money. I highly recommend using the pros at Marin County Roofing.

Marin County Roofing is the best. I've had several roofs done at various properties in the past but this company tops them all. I must have gotten 12 different estimates on this latest roof; my major concern was a bad sag in the garage roof. Most of the other roofers had no idea how to fix the problem -- wanted me to get engineered drawings and one even suggested taking the roof off and re-framing it from scratch. I chose Marin County Roofing because they are not just roofers, they are general contractors also and Rick knew exactly how to fix the problem...not just by jacking up the center beam, but by adding two new beams with trusses. The result is just what I wanted. The last roofer had broken off a vent and then re-roofed over the top so the exhaust gasses vented into the attic space. Marin Roofing found the problem and re-configured the venting to the outside as well as correct inadequate gutters and downspouts so that they all flow out to the street. The step-flashing around the chimney is a work of art. I have other properties and after this exceptional experience with Rick, Jackie in the office, and the professional crew on the job, I doubt I'll ever get multiple estimates again -- I'll just go directly to Marin Roofing.

I was so very disappointed in this old Marin Company. I was placed on the back burner for almost a year to install a skylight. Finally it was installed and now several years later I found out that it was not sealed properly. The bathroom wall needs to be replaced due to the terrible job installing the skylight. Stay away from this company. Marin County Roofing needs to have better service, definitely a more professional office manager and hire new roofers that can install/repair roof issues correctly.

I was disappointed that Marin Roofing was a no show for our scheduled appointment. My time window was 10-1030. I called at 1050 and was informed they drove by the site but kept driving because parking was too difficult. They were not interested in rescheduling. Poor communication, and unfortunately no respect for my time.

Excellent roofing company! I chose this company due to their longevity in the business and the owners' knowledge. Rick Miller came to my house and after checking my roof, skylight, and gutters, explained all details to me in layman terms so I could best understand what needed to be done to my roof. He took the time and made sure I understood what he was talking about. It was going the extra mile! Thank you Marin County Roofing for a gorgeous new roof!!

So we are in a rented office in San Rafael. and Low and behold there was rain in the forecast. Do you think they would have put a tarp over the sections of roof they hadnt' finished knowing that it could rain..... NO. I walked in this morning to rain pouring into my office onto our computers and phones. from 1.5 to 2"" of water from the front office all the way into the bathrooms. When I called they said they would send someone to check it out. They did and it stopped pouring in shortly after they removed the standing water. then they said it wasn't there problem. I called my landlord again and complained that my floors were ruined. We lost 2 computers and a phone as well as who was going to clean up this mess. The landlord called the roofers who did come back and mop up the water, but won't take responsibility for anything further because they they said the contract is with the landlord. But Why should I have to pay out the deductible plus put a claim on my insurance! Not to mention that we have been without heat or air conditioning for almost 2 weeks. Because they had to disconnect it to do the roof! are they working here today NO because the roof is wet....

So now I have to put a claim into my insurance. These guys are the worst!!

After having a horrible experience with Mclaren Roofing, we hired Marin County Roofing (diamond certified). Happy we did. The roofers were punctual and the work looks absolutely spot on - tidy, no mess, etc. No issues.

So, I got a quote from Marin Roofing, which I then signed. The problem mattered. It took them 4 months to show up to do the work. I had to nag multiple times. Then when I was a bit late in paying their bill, they threatened to put a lein on my house. I would recommend you go somewhere else.
