Mar vista roofing is unprofessional and unhelpful. I've called and emailed them about multiple projects, requests proposals, and onsite visits. Patrick answers the phone takes all your info and then the contact drops from there. No responses by phone, text, or email. Don't bother.... It's a waste of time!!

I spent some time to find the right roofer and was very happy with Patrick and Mar Vista Roofing. He's a very straightforward guy. Honest. Direct. Ready to answer any of the many many questions I had. He did exactly what he said he would do. When they tore off my roof there was a bunch of wood rot, which needed to be repaired. They took care of it quickly and at a reasonable rate. He even helped me get the info I needed to claim my rebate from DWP. I certainly recommend this company. You'll be in honest, good hands. No cheap, cruddy labor. This is the real deal.

Our ""Birdhouse"" home was built in 1959 by real estate developer William Mellenthin who was known for designing charming ranch-style homes with gorgeous, wood beam, cathedral ceilings; He was also known for hiring the very best workmen to construct his homes. Having owned our home since 1991, my husband Robert K. & I began searching for a reputable company to replace our 30-40 year old roof--not an easy task! Luckily for us, our cousin Alan K. had an excellent experience with Pat Farrell, owner of Mar Vista Roofing, Inc., who replaced his roof after Alan had a bad experience with a former recent roofer who installed inferior shingles, which broke down & leaked! Thank goodness that Alan utilized Mar Vista Roofing's expertise to correct the situation--& to our benefit!

Mr. Farrell was Johnny-on-the-Spot. He immediately shared with us his assessment of the condition of our roof (extremely old, but with 2 layers of shingles to avoid a complete replacement); he reviewed the choices we had of regular shingles versus top-of-the-line solarized shingles; he demonstrated his knowledge & experience so convincingly that we hired him on the spot & enjoyed watching his workmen carry out his directions to the ""T"". Within 2 days, the old roof was stripped off by 10--no kidding, 10--of the best workmen, & the new one installed by a different crew of the very best 5 or 6 workmen. The results? A beautifully installed, brand-new roof using solarized shingles in a great color!

(BTW, for those of you who've read some of the poor reviews below: those unfortunate reviews must've been written by people who lack the education & good judgment to recognize someone with Pat Farrell's integrity.)

Last night after first big rain in months and months in Mar Vista, kitchen ceiling/wall started leaking. (Flat roof) Patrick came right out and inspected roof and said to wait until roof drys before patching. Patrick seems like a great guy so far! Will follow up in a few days after completion.

I find it so hard to believe all these bad reviews from Patrick. Patrick came to my house promptly after my initial phone call. While others had said I had a lot of roof damage and would need to replace most of the wood under the roof, Patrick said the wood was fine. He provided me with several pages of referrals and I called several of them at random. Each person was very happy with their roof and very happy with Patrick.

I got my new roof this past summer in 2014, I decided to wait until now to actually write a review, as I wanted it to RAIN on my new roof to make sure there were no leaks---NO leaks. Roof is great, price was great and I love the color. Excellent job!! Two thumbs up from me!!

Patrick replaced the asphalt shingle roof on my back house over ten years ago, still looks like a million bucks, never leaked, reasonable price, great (and quick!) crew.

So of course we hired him again for the new roof on our front house, which was just completed. I did get other bids which, on a $5,000 dollar job were two or three hundred dollars less. He spent the time to show me where those bids came up short, patiently explaining the roofing process. He also ran interference with my rooftop HVAC people and my solar people, all of which was happening at the same time, and none of whom were as professional and exacting as Pat...In fact, he avoided a couple of disasters by pointing out problems in the work of the other contractors, problems that were nipped in the bud thanks to his exceptional commitment to doing things the right way.

Trust me people, the roof is NOT the place to cut corners or hire someone who's ""good enough"". And don't believe all these suspicious one-star reviews, they seem to be from slimy competitors.

Job was done quickly... But beware of their truck, It will leak oil on your driveway! Mine was new UGH. Not happy at all with that as there was plenty of street parking. I have never seen a pro park in a customers driveway unless required to do so.....

This man named Patrick said he was from Mar Vista Roofing called from an unknown number sunday night and said he would like to come to look at the roof between 9-10
I did call Mar vista roofing next day... he answered the phone and said it would be more like close to eleven..I was just round the corner at my mother's house I noticed he'd called around ten fifteen, I called and said I was sorry I did not hear the phone.. He was surly and rude and said I am not coming back. I think I was lucky

Patrick at Mar Vista Roofing is a great find! The work he and his team do are quick and very reasonably priced. I would recommend his services to my friends and family and use him again in a heart beat!
