This company did a complete reroofing of our house in 1993 with Elk brand 40-year shingles, the best one could get at that time. In January 2010 we had the roof inspected in preparration for installation of a solar electricity array. The inspection revealed that while the Elk shingleswere were in entirely satisfactory condition, the so-called ""ridge shingles"" on the peak of the roof and the dormers, were completely deteriorated and in need of immeddiate replacement. Malott & Peterson accepted my first phone call to request replacement of the ridge shingles, and then refused to return further calls or take any action to alleviate this obvious product defect. Their 40-year warranty apprently had been a fraud and they did not stand behind their work or their product. Another company was then engaged and the reroofing completed satisfactorily.
