Several weeks ago an employee of this company came out to give me an estimate for a complete roof replacement. He told me that he would report the condition of the roof (including pics he supposedly had taken) and that I would receive an estimate via email or a phone call within the next day or two.
After at least 5 different phone calls over the past 2 weeks I have yet to receive an estimate. An older sounding woman (never gives her name) constantly talks over me, cuts me off etc. Obviously, these people couldn't care less.....I guess they're flush with business from the two recent hurricanes. Well, fine by me.
I am going with a competitor and spending some of my time telling several others in my neighborhood to stay away from this utter disaster of a roofing company. If I could give a ""zero"" star I would. From now on, whenever anyone mentions any type of housing repair, I will be sure to let them know that they should stay away from this outfit. After all, they have a fair amount of negative reviews and that coupled with their total disregard for what might have been a new customer is all I need to RUN from this disastrous operation.

This is a current issue I have had with a local roofing company. I closed on my BRAND NEW house 12/20/2020 and Mac Johnson roofing was the company who placed the metal roof. On 12/25/2020 I had a small leak that then went to a large leak in my master bedroom. It took the company 4 different attempts to correct this leak over the course of a year!!!!! When they had a worker by the name of Greg tell me there was missing paper under the metal and a lot of cross threaded screws (poor workmanship). So finally they corrected this leak due to there being an issue with flashing on the roofs.
Fast forward to 2021 when there was a leak that started in my kitchen around my recessed light. So they came out tightened some screws and fixed some metal that had lifted due to a recent hurricane....that same leak continued into 2022 took them 3 times to correct this issue. There was issues with the ridge caps.
So in 2023 our roof starts to leak again in the kitchen at the same spot as in 2022 but now this time has started to spread to our living room and dining room. Two different people came out to address the issue the first man said ""oh the screws are cross threaded I changed them and caulked around them. ""the second man by the name of Scott came January 22nd 2024 and says oh yes I can see the issue it's bc it's missing closure strips all on the front of the roof and that he would be mad too by having so many issues with our roof. He stated someone would be out Tuesday January 23rd or January 24th to fix it and no one had to be home for it to be fixed that they have foam inserts to be placed in the gaps of the roof to prevent back flow of water when it rains hard.
So fast forward to Tuesday feb 6th 2024 I call to follow up because nothing has been corrected and we get the run around again this time I'm told that Scott doesn't remember coming to our house and saying that.... You see every time I've had to call and have someone come out to fix the roof they have a difficult time locating my file....the follow up is ridiculous. But luckily I have videos of this man coming to the house to look at the roof. So 2/9/24 I receive a call from the front desk lady at the warranty department telling me that Mac Johnson is not going to warranty my roof bc it's out of warranty that I had a 1-2 year warranty and that times past if they send someone I will have to pay. So which was it one or two years Why would I pay a company to come to attempt to fix my roof when they haven't fixed it the first 9 times. I proceed to tell this woman that this is a leak that happened in the warranty period and should be fixed. They have no record of how many times they have come out to our house to fix issues or where these leaks were ?.
How can a company have a warranty but not log any times they have come to fix a roof. She stated that the house settles etc this is not an issue from a house settling but instead is poor workmanship!!! The company's workers have stated the issues with workmanship on the roof.
The lack of accountability, professionalism and shoddy work is astounding. I urge you to research who you use to put your roof on your home. I waited to make this post for today as we called them again Friday 2/9/2024 waiting on a call back from the owner hisself and yet again he never called. Pure distasteful, at this point I'm looking for a construction lawyer.

Quality workmanship and completed home roof replacement within a few days. Overall cleanup of large debris was excellent, however there were some negatives to our experience. 1st, the roll off container for the debris still sits in my driveway, 6 days after the work was completed. Have called, daily, multiple times each day, to get an ETA of container removal, and only get the answering service, during office hours. They take a message and promise a return call, yet no responses from company as of this review. 2nd, workers left cigarette butts and food waste in my yard, for me to clean up. 3rd and, in my opinion, the unprofessional of all of it, is the small debris, especially screws, nails, sharp pieces of scrap metal scattered throughout my property. Unacceptable to return home, after work was completed and crew gone, to find all this debris. Would like to safely use my driveway, walk my property, and have my dogs run freely, without fear of injury, which already happened twice, during my personal cleanup of the debris. Workmanship, superior customer service, and accountability. They only came through on workmanship, which is what I recommend them for; be prepared for the hassle with the rest of it.

After Hurricane Irma I had some water get into my house. There were small water stains on the walls of my office. I called Mac Johnson the day the storm ended and someone came out the very next day. The estimator was professional and took care of the problem free of charge. I will continue to trust Mac Johnson for all my roofing needs and I'll keep referring my friends and family.

These guys were amazing . They were $ 2500 less than the nearest competitor and up to $6000 less then the majority of contractors .
They were professional , clean, fast. I recommend Highly from my personal experience.

Had a horrible experience with Mac Johnson. Repairs to the home were done that weren't necessary and an important item required by an inspection report was not completed. Trying to get a call back from the estimator Chris Cox was impossible. Voice mail was always full on his cell! Thank goodness for a decent front office staff. After the necessary work was finally completed, I couldn't get an invoice to verify the work as completed after over a week of calls and email. I literally had to threaten to drive down there, show up and they finally gave me what I needed to verify completed repairs... after I went to their office. What I needed only took a couple minutes in an email! Work looked ok but communication with the people that make the decisions was non-existent.

Hard to believe that a roofing company with such a great reputation sometimes doesn't pay their subcontractors. It's unfortunate and it's the precise reason we've stopped referring them.
