Randy Brown and his team, installed my skylight and I couldn't be more pleased with everything. His employee's efficiency, thoroughness and helpful attitude was superior. Randy, went the extra mile making sure the job was done perfectly and in a timely manner before the rain came, he was also very fair with the price. It is therefore with great pleasure that I give Los Gatos Roofing and Mr. Brown my most sincere recommendation to everyone that has roofing needs.

Well I must say the 'following through' objective with a roof leak under warranty has simply not materialized.

Although the team came out and did a few additional caulking things and referred to a metal shop I still have leaks.

At the end of the day, I still have a leak and need to go elsewhere now to address the issue.

Summary: On time, on budget, no surprises.
Los Gatos Roofing was recommended by our solar installer. (We also contacted Yelp-recommended roofers closer to Menlo Park, but they were booked a year out.) Salesperson Jon Fletscher came out when scheduled, showed us alternatives in our local area, suggested coming to their San Jose showroom to view additional options, and generally took care of everything in a reasonable and timely manner. City permitting was 100% dealt with.
The crew were polite and efficient. It's a noisy job, but they were respectful of the neighbors.
We had no issues with communications, billing, or paperwork. The city inspector was happy with everything he saw.
They also offered the option of paying by credit card (after the estimate, so it didn't affect the price), which netted us a free ticket to Europe. (Nice extra.)

I worked with Dale Carstensen at Los Gatos roofing. I was blown away by how good my experience was with him and the entire team from Los Gatos roofing. Earlier in the year, I had my gutters cleaned and the workman informed me that he thought I needed a new roof. Several of my neighbors had used Los Gatos Roofing and I called.

Dale came out and did a complete inspection and told me that the roof I had would hold up fine for another 5 years and that I didn't really need to do it now. He said even with the expected rains from El Nino (which never happened) my roof would be fine for that period. I appreciated his honesty. Several months went by and I thought about adding solar to generate my electricity. I decided that it would be a good idea to do the new roof and add solar at the same time so I called back Dale.

Dale and his crew were quite booked (because of the El Nino concerns) and told me it would be 5 months before he could get to this job. That worked well for me so I got a bid and signed a contract. I had several other bids. Dale's wasn't the cheapest, nor the most expensive. But I believe it was the most well thought out and he presented me with more options than others.

Dale was able to start the work, when he promised and complete the job in just 4 days. We have a large roof and a pool house as well. His men showed up on time and on schedule. They were very professional and pleasant to work with and cleaned up everything. Dale came by a couple of times to check on things. There were some unexpected surprises when the old roof came off with some sub-roofing issues. Dale explained the issues and proposed reasonable solutions which amounted in some small change-order charges. He also worked with my contractor that would install my solar system and they dove-tailed seamlessly.

I would highly recommend Los Gatos Roofing. My new roof and solar system is functional and looks great!

We had our roof redone in August 2016. We own a 3700 sq ft, two story home in Morgan hill. The roof has three dormers, a 45 degree pitch and is on the top end of complexity. We replaced a tile roof with shingles. My biggest concern was how much damage the demolition would do to the deck, pathways and garden surrounding the property. I give Los Gatos roofing top marks for their continued focus on avoiding any damage. They actually removed the old tile roof one tile at a time to avoid 1000's of pounds of tile raining down. I was also very appreciative of the regular oversight provided. Throughout the 8 day process I had regular on-site contact with one of their most senior people which gave me the confidence that quality of work was being supervised. I would recommend them without any hesitation.

I'd have to agree with Tim's review below. Their communication skills leave a lot to be desired. Slow response to emails and even those responses were so cryptic as to be useless. They seem to have too many jobs going on and don't know who they're responding to.
And while the roof seems good (July 2016 so will need to see later when it rains), the attention to detail was not. Maybe it was just the guys who installed the vents but they failed to take off the packaging on the inside so it looks terrible. If you choose them, be ready to act the role of a contractor.

Los Gatos Roofing installed my roof in 2008. Randy Brown supervised the project.
Installation process went well, and the roof was neat and tight. 5 year roof warranty
expired 3 year ago, and I never used it.

Recently I had a problem with excess humidity and mold in the house.


I had Heating and AC contractor, plumber, dry-wall contractor, etc have a look to no avail.
In desperation I called Randy from LG Roofing. Even though the roof was out of warranty, he offered to come and take a look.

Randy very methodically troubleshooted the problem (it wasn't roof)
and recommended a possible solution. All at no charge. A real rarety nowadays.

LG Roofing does high quality work, has excellent customer support and all-around great people.
Randy Brown will take great care of you.

I would like to recognize Jon and Los Gatos roofing for coming out and providing us a bid that we could understand and in a timely manner. I do suggest that before you commit to a contractor, to have Los Gatos roofing submit a bid to you for consideration.

Great work, very professional on time and within the budget. They did my roof in 2 and half days. My roof front had a slight caving. Robert made sure the workers added shims under the OSB board to straighten it as much as they could. One of the workers did use the string to make sure they can get it close to straight. I don't know his name but he should be given credit for thinking about it at the time. Although this work was not in the contract, Robert did not charge extra for it. They responded promptly to my inquiries throughout the project. The finished roof looks great. There are some minor things that can be improved, but overall it is a great job.

I would definitely recommend them.

We received a few quotes but decided on Los Gatos roofing based on their professional and courteous service and of course reasonable pricing. Tad was really helpful and honest with what he thought needed repair vs what could wait. He was responsive through text and ensured the job was completed.
